So particle shielding from radiation armor says it accepts endurance modification enhancements, but the power description says that the end buff ignores buffs & enhancements. Is there something I'm missing? Will end mod enh's do nothing if slotted? Thanks!

Loud or obnoxious, what are the worst sounds in the game?
biostem replied to gameboy1234's topic in General Discussion
One of the biggest issues I have with the sounds is how, if I want to be able to hear glowies, and happen to have mystic flight on, there's this loud wooshing sound with even the slightest of movements. Just as we have a 'minimal' option for the FX, I'd love such an option for the sound as well... -
I'm not disputing that it doesn't "function as designed", but the 2 pieces of your statement are not mutually exclusive. Saying that a power grants an X% damage buff does not, for the layman, equate to seeing the final damage number being X% higher.

What if you disallowed mobile enemy spawns and only allowed user-placed fixed ones? It'd limit the types of stories you could realize, but you'd now how limitless custom maps at your disposal...
-
Good points. As for how they'd be chosen - maybe allow players to load them like they do custom NPCs? It'd not be a small feat, I admit...

I've seen some truly remarkable SG bases, and I've always thought that some would make really awesome maps for AE missions. I realize there would be the potential for "trap maps", but you could add a stipulation that such maps are prohibited and able to be reported, or something. You'd also have to come up with some random or procedural method of placing enemy spawns/locations. Your thoughts?

Some people imbue a lot of creativity into their characters. Whether that is in the form of a detailed backstory or every jot and tittle pertaining to each freckle on their body is up to the player. Yes, some people "overshare", but no one made you read their bio, afterall. I find that the better players, (or at least ones with more foresight), tend to divide their bios into sections - basic info and pertinent details are at the top, and the more risque stuff is toward the bottom, often with section headings...

I never discounted that. It's all about *perception* - someone sees a farmer apparently roflstomp their way from one farm to the next, not realizing how long it took them to tailor that character to excel in that environment or what sacrifices had to be made toward that goal. I'm just trying to point out that greed/envy or just what a lack of information can do to people...

It's not the wealth gap that I was referring to - it's a broader "player A has character B that can outperform my character, who I've put all this time into" type of thing. And even then, in what way a character can be deemed to "outperform" another is very subjective - is it their AT? That particular build? IOs? Incarnates?
-
I imagine it went something like this, when it came time to create a new powerset: "OK, we're gonna create a new set. We want it to be as broadly appealing as possible. Making the character pull out a gun or sword is really specific, so we'll just have them kind of gesture with their hands." That being said, it still boggles my mind that they never added things like a beam rifle model that looks like a large a large wand or obviously magical/biological in appearance...

There is an option for a simplified cursor in the options, which may help. That being said, I, too, sometimes lose my cursor in the chaos of all the stuff going on on-screen...

While not "needed", I do find tactics extremely useful when you don't have any +PER natively in your primary or secondary. It's also great if you want to lead a team, through tougher content, (particularly when leading a PUG).

I mean, I've outright seen death threats in gaming forums, so this doesn't phase me. Can you point me to some? Honestly, from what I've read, I don't get that vibe, but I am open to being proven wrong. A lot can be down to the eye of the beholder, here... Again, I have to chalk this up to "eye of the beholder" stuff. You are going to feel how you are included to, but I, at least, don't want anyone to go...

I think a big part of the divide stems from the notion of "fairness" and the disparity between "have's" and "have-not's" - On one end of the spectrum, you get purists, who stick to contact and story arc content, and deem that the only legitimate way to play - so they put in X amount of time and receive Y reward. OTOH, you get more power-gamey folks, who farm themselves, get others to farm while they sit, or otherwise fully stock their characters ahead of time, and result in greater rewards for a shorter amount of time invested. I'm not saying either side is fundamentally correct in their assessment, just that the division between the 2 mindsets can be so extreme, (and even impact the in-game economy in some cases), that such disparate stances may be irreconcilable...

So unless it is from a mode/dev/admin, stating their intent, I wouldn't read too much into what people post here - you may be interpreting a particular causation when all there really is is correlation. My use of the term "concern-trolling" was not to accuse you of trolling in the regular sense, but that people sometimes bring up their "concerns" regarding a change or decision that was made, (or is upcoming), when in fact what they want is to spur others into raising a ruckus. regardless, no, I don't think you're actually trolling or threatening me.

I chose to login to these forums. I chose to read this thread. I don't think I've interacted with you in the past. I don't care for idle threats or promises of a good time. Take your sour grapes elsewhere. *I* didn't win anything. I have no dog in the game. I've only ever done minimal farming to get my characters to 22, (so I can slot them up with some 25 IOs), or in some doldrum levels before 50. I get that some people want to or like to farm post-50 stuff. Plead your case with the devs, and after that, if you still don't get your way, either adapt to the change or move on...
-
Or you're just paranoid. You haven't been removed, and if you're at all concerned about that happening in the future, contact a mod/admin and state your position/concerns. You are certainly free to assume whatever you like, but it is a fact that when you flood the market with inf, the buying power of each individual inf becomes less. Alternatively, you ccan run content that gives you merits and directly buy whatever you want. I can't speak to the devs' underlying motives. Farming AE was never something I did to any great extent, so this change won't impact me, but I don't really care what other people do, as long as they can play competently.

Perhaps they came to that conclusion, but not for the reason you've stated...
-
I disagree with your sentiment, and chalk it up more to "concern-trolling"...

The Banished Batgirl Mystery
biostem replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Check out Midnight's Edge. From my understanding, they want to replace Amber Heard with Emilia Clarke. There's also something in the larger DCCU dealing with how Keaton was supposed to be introduced in the new Flash movie, and also to serve as the mentor to Batgirl, but due to these issues, Ben Affleck has been hired back on to take his place... -
If that's the case, then yes, allow us to customize our chat channel colors!

Can't you customize the chat colors in the options menu?

Are you attacking as fast as possible, with whatever power is ready, or are you kinda saving up attacks and using them sparingly? In addition to the -tohit from Skulls, if you're spamming attacks as fast as you can, it'll chew through your end pretty quickly. In the lower levels, especially on a tougher AT, I'll space out my attacks and take the damage if end is bottoming out...

There isn't any facial animations or even blinking, for such a process to build off of - our character's faces are literally just a static image.

The Banished Batgirl Mystery

All I know is that I wish the live action stuff was as good as 99% of their animated offerings...
