Suggestion: Enable all missions to scale up level wise.
biostem replied to Zep's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can you expand on this? Are you fighting level 50+ Vahzilok somewhere? Did they give them more powers, or just up their level with no other changes? -
League QoL Suggestion: Invite to Team X
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I've run many a league, and it seems that either individual team leaders aren't aware, don't want to step on the league leader's toes, or just don't want to be bothered. -
I would love to see the league management options expanded so that the league leader can invite a person to a specific team within that league. Right now, you can either invite people to your team, or to the league as a whole, which may spawn more teams than you want, which in turn requires you to move that person to another team, and if you're trying to track broadcast and/or tells, it can add unnecessary complexity...

I've notified Arachnos agents, who should be questioning that merchant any moment. 😉 So if infamy and influence can be spent interchangeably, then there's no reason to store them as prestige.
-
That's just your rationale for how you think it would work, but obviously the game treats the process of going from being a hero to a villain, (or visa-versa), as making you just as heroic as you were villainous or just as villainous as you were heroic - i.e. your reputation precedes you. Either way, there are plenty of ways of getting info to your friends and SG-mates already...

If we assume that there were no fees, would converting from USD to Canadian Dollars be an exchange? It's not a perfect example, but if we assumed Canadian merchants only accepted CAD and US ones only accepted USD, then it's the same. No Villain vendor accepts Influence. No Hero vendor accepts Infamy. Using Null to quickly switch sides does not reflect the normal/intended way in which ones switches sides, which includes an in-game explanation as to how that currency gets, you got it, "exchanged" from one to the other.

Inf -> Prestige -> Inf ****IS**** an exchange.

Suggestion: Enable all missions to scale up level wise.
biostem replied to Zep's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You can do most, (or at least a large chunk of), lower level content via the Ouroboros flashback system. Barring that, many enemy groups simply do not have proper members for the full scope of level ranges. -
So wouldn't the new use of Prestige be a medium of exchange, i.e. a currency? I exchange my inf for prestige, which I or someone else can convert back to the appropriate form of inf to buy stuff with at some later date?
-
Yes, but it wouldn't be tied to vet levels - AFAIK it'd use the current Incarnate crafting system...
-
Definitely against this. At that level of veteran status, the last thing you need is even more power. Maybe something like a few account-bound enh unslotters so you can more easily adjust your build...

Granted superhuman grace and agility by way of the "Laurel of Athena" and an ability to manifest and project bolts of ichor via a "Crown of Hades", "The Lithe Spectre" delivers justice to evildoers everywhere!

Thank you so much for the designs! I decided to go in a different direction, and ended up with this, to further emphasize her connection to the Roman pantheon:

I wonder if aping directly off the default allocation of powers for an AE NPC built using your primary and secondary would be too good to too weak, (I'm thinking the former, as they usually only have like 2-3 powers).

Of possible interest to fans of superhero movies?
biostem replied to TheOtherTed's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I chalk a lot up to how someone first experiences a particular genre - if you saw Flash Gordon serials first, then *that* is generally how you perceive space operas. If you saw Star Trek first, it's going to be a whole lot different. Similarly, if your first experience with Superman was an actual comic, then your perceptions and expectations will be a lot different than if you first saw the character in the Christopher Reeves films. I'd also imagine someone first seeing Batman portrayed by Adam West would have drastically different expectations than if their first time seeing him was in the 90s animated series or via Ben Affleck's depiction. Either way, anytime a person is filtering a portrayal of a character, be it as the artist drawing a comic or an actor interpreting a script and a director's instructions, there's going to be some crucial first impression that forever dictates what the audience takes from the experience... -
Just as long as people don't confuse him with Sea-man...

What!!? You don't just prick your finger then write in blood, like Sideshow Bob?

There is a "save options to file" and a "load options from file" button in the window options menu, but AFAIK, they use the same filename, with no option to choose alternatives from there. There are the "option_save_file" and "option_load_file" slash commands, so you could select the options you want from the menu, save them, (not to a file, but just generally), then use the command to save a specific file for MSR events and one for normal gameplay, then load them as needed...

Setting other player names so they're only shown when selected or on mouse-over helps a bit as well; The GUI actually takes a pretty hefty toll on performance in these large events. I also tend to turn down particle or PHYS-X effects.

I hear a complaint, but not a suggestion at a solution. What is your specific proposal? More range? Lower endurance cost? I mean, those are really the only 2 aspects of teleportation. Maybe increase the temporary "hang time" between ports? **shrugs**

I also think such a setting should apply to pool powers if you set the color to apply to the entire set, but haven't taken one of the powers yet.

This is "The Lithe Spectre" - She gained superhuman agility & grace from "The Laurel of Athena" and is able to conjure dark and murky ichor thanks to a "Crown of Hades", (Dark/SR Sentinel). While I like the current costumes she has, (heavier armored and more formal/dressier versions below), I am trying to come up with something more elegant. The only requirements are the laurel and crown. Thanks for your consideration!

The T1s may need more attacks. What do you foresee the MMs own attacks looking like? Energy damage?

What's the smallest change to CoX that you really want?
biostem replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I could see them as map-appropriate interactable objects, like maybe small treasure stashes in Orenbega or some sort of altars that you can "offer tribute" to in the form of some inf for inspirations. Maybe just have a "traitor" from the enemy group you're facing off against that will sell you inspirations for inf, somewhere in the map... -
Well, reanimated dead, anyway. I mean, the general trend of Incarnate lores is tougher attacker, weaker attacker, and utility/healing/buffing/debuffing. It would be cool to have the devs hold a contest to have players submit 3 costumes that fit with a common lore theme along those lines...
