Not flippant at all. For me, it's more about not breaking the flow of gameplay. Sure, I could eat breakfrees in anticipation of being mezzed, but it's not as reliable, (as far as keeping enough in stock 24x7), as what I'm looking for.
-
Probably drop the HoT, then. Other blaster "maintains" do include some status effect resistance, (not protection), so I think that could remain, (or dropped entirely, but field operative from devices has stealth, defense, recovery AND regen).
-
Mainly for its hold protection. It's minimal, but more important to me.
-
I appreciate the input, but TBH, KB is the least of my worries.

I have a 50 storm/ninjitsu sentinel. It's a rather nice secondary, but because it has slightly lower defense values and no passive boost to end recovery, you'll need to lean more on the click heal and end recovery powers. Still, the in-built stealth & crit ability is rather nice. I didn't bother with blinding power, so I can't speak to that. Also, the auto power is where you get your KB protection from. Pistols would be a good fit, conceptually, as you could stick with the regular or incendiary rounds, (though the cryo rounds also grant a permanent range boost as long as you keep that ammo type toggle on).
-
Having gotten both a /Regen and a /WP to 50, what I can say is that WP is better overall, but there are times you really miss that on-demand click heal power which WP lacks.
-
Just how flexible are you in the character concept? Depending upon how much you are willing to bend the concept, an interesting idea could be a dual pistol/willpower sentinel with the ninja tool mastery APP, so he could also wield a sword. If you wanted something with a bit more of a magical flair, storm, rad, or even fire blast would work nicely, and if you wanted something more low-tech, go with archery. Alternatively, skip ninja tool mastery and go with fire mastery colored white for a sort of "holy fire", plus you can get a PBAoE heal from that if you want a bit of team support.

Yeah, you may have the change the name, but there already exists a precedent for different sets to having powers with the same name, (e.g. Darkest Night in Soul Mastery and Dark Mastery).
-
Besides obvious secondary choices, like FF, Son, Traps, what other options are there to gain status protection as a controller? Others I can think of are acrobatics from leaping and rune of protection from sorcery, then there's clarion from incarnates. Any other ideas? I suppose I could simply focus on upping my defense to the point where I simply don't get hit...

A lot depends upon how close or far you are willing to stray from the source character. For instance, you could roll a radiation blast/willpower sentinel, and really only use a recolored x-ray beam as your main ranged attack. Then dip into fighting and other pool powers to flesh the character out, (leadership seems like a natural fit, and powers like combat jumping could fit with the more "peak human physicality" of Cyclops).

Using elements from various power sets, (primarily storm summoning and kinetic melee), I present my suggestion for a "Storm Manipulation" secondary set for Blasters: 1. Dust Devil - You surround your target with a highly localized whirlwind, which slows them, deals minor smashing damage, and reduces their chance to hit. 2. Storm Strike - Uses the animation from body blow, but deals smashing and cold damage. Also has a small chance to knock the target down. 3. Water Spout - You surround your target in a localized and rapidly churning water spout, holding them in place while dealing smashing and cold damage over time. 4. Build Up - Click power, +dmg, +tohit. 5. Burst - Similar to the kinetic melee power, only dealing smashing and cold damage. 6. Rejuvenating Mist - A toggle that provides additional recovery, some stealth, defense, and a HoT, with some minor resistance to sleep and disorient effects. 7. Thunder Clap - PBAoE disorient. 8. Tornado - As per the Storm Summoning power. 9. Storm Fist - Similar to Concentrated Strike from kinetic melee, only dealing smashing and energy damage instead.

Tinpex should give you your choice of an Incarnate component, chosen randomly from one of the 4 tiers of Incarnate abilities, upon completion of each part. As @SeraphimKensai pointed out, you're thinking of Market Crash.
-
To expand upon this, it's running Market Crash for the first time on a character that gives the purple drop - that character could technically be quite old, but if it's their first time running market Crash, you'll get the purple drop. Lastly, I highly recommend waiting until you are level 50, or very nearly so, if you want a higher-level recipe.

I like the Savage Assault set for dominators, but I really wish we could have all-bird or all-bug options for the ranged attacks. I think call swarm could get an alternate animation of the bird just flying at, then passed the target, nixing the continued "harrying" animation of the bird repeatedly striking the target. As for insect options, unkindness could simply call forth several swarms that fly out in a cone to deal damage, while call hawk would summon a single swarm that hovers over top the target, dealing continuous damage just like the bird does...

Martial assault seems like the obvious choice...

You slot some IOs that grant a "proc", and when it triggers/goes off, it can be said to proc/have procced/is proccing. For instance, you slot a force feedback +recharge IO in a power with KB. It has a proc rate of roughly twice per minute. You use that power, the effect goes off, and you can say that it or its effect "procced". Along the same lines, let's say you're doing a safeguard mission. I've often heard players hoping it spawns an AV. That result could, in a sense, be a "proc" in its own right, and as with the IO example, if it does happen, the effect could be said to have procced.
-
I usually make more armored or "stylish" characters, but I wanted something classic and simple. To that end, I present you with "Heroics 'n Chill", an easy-going retro Ice/Ice Sentinel:
-
I get a Solid Snake vibe from this one.
-
This one reminds me of all those 80s arcade games, like Heavy Barrel or Ikari Warriors. It's also reminiscent of the WH40K Imperial Guard faction, (Catachan Jungle Fighters or something similar).
-
One thing I've noticed is that since I tend to use generic IOs in my "leveling builds", end issues may become prevalent, since my usual attack slotting is 2 acc, 3 dmg, then a recharge, but once I get into slotting IO sets, which in turn almost always include some end redux, any such issues go away, (and that's before you consider any additional recovery or further end discounts that any such sets generally grant as well).

Agility radial is quite good, especially if you have a few powers that drain end or give you end. Nerve core is also good, (just overshadowed by others).

Bad UI: Endurance meter becomes less noticeable when low
biostem replied to Kai Moon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While on the subject of low end, is there any rhyme or reason as to which specific toggles get shut off when you bottom out your end? It seems to be random... -
Maybe treat it like Inertial reduction instead - have it be a PBAoE that grants flight for a few minutes to all allies in-range.

Weapon auras would be really cool.
