Willpower/SS Dont care about the defense drop.. Have Quick Recovery and Stamina.. dont care about the end drop... and good luck killing him without -regen..

One of the things I love MOST about CoH. There is no ONE way to play anything. You can play your creation however you like. Me. My NRG/NRG is an long distance specialist. You know why I rarely get mezzed? Because most foes cant even reach me. Boost Range. Aim Build Up.. Snipe.. POW... Power Push... your knocked down... POW Snipe again.. Your dead... AOE.. easy.. Air Build Up Nova.. BOOM your dead.. or mostly dead.. My Old SG mates used to tease me saying.. He is going to do the mission from the base... I used to attack the Mitos from OUTSIDE the Goo on HamiRaids.. Distance is my defense... but because I use Snipes.. A LOT.. I also drain end pretty quickly... which I recently solved by reworking a few things... So I dont need Energize for Mez.. nor do I need it for End redux.. I DO need it for heals... when I occasionally take damage which is how I like to use it.. and it works well for me that way... So remember.. SLOT END REDUX IN YOUR ATTACKS !!!
-
Works fine for me. Thanks I'm good.

recently and I dont use energize for end management, I save it for the heal. Recently moved some slots around and works better now. Again.. put a crap ton of recharge in a build without End Redux in attacks and watch your end bar die..

I have run a Stone Melee/Dark Armor tank that ran TEN toggles.. was able to manage that end.. The three most difficult build I have end management issues with.. Energy/Energy Blaster Ice/Ice Stalker TW/EA Scrapper you know the common factor between those three? Attacks that drain a lot of end Super high recharge build. most of them are 2-4 seconds off Perma hasten which means.. all the attacks recharge 70% faster.. NOT including the recharge within the powers themselves.. I've been saying it for years. Its NOT toggles. I'm stunned when I see some of the builds that people make. Stamina not slotted or just slotted with the +End Proc from Performace shifter set.. So you are leaving a ton of Stamina recover off you character. IMO every health build should get at LEAST two slots. One being a Miracle + Recovery and the other being a Numina Regen Recovery. Those two ALONE are +25% recovery bonus. If you are not slotting End Redux into your attacks.. let me repeat this.. YOUR ATTACKS ARE THE PROBLEM.. Your attack chain without end redux will KILL your end bar faster than your toggles ever will. The average toggle drains about .26 per second.. Using a basic attack say from energy blast... its lightest possible attack is 5.36 end PER activation.. Throw in a base level AoE and you KNOW we LOVE AoEs around here Average the two AoEs.. 13 end each PER activation. Like you Nuke.. almost 28 end alone in a Nuke.. You got hasten to attack faster? great.. now those powers recharge faster.. activate more often.. and DRAIN MORE END because your using them more.. oh yeah and when hasten drops.. you lose 20 end when it shuts off cause your tired.. You know how many toggles my blaster runs.. 3.. thats it.. but he regular cycles three attacks that by themselves without End redux would consume 41 end within about 3-5 seconds of time.. thats almost HALF my end bar.. And if you didnt slot and End Redux. well kiss your blue bar goodbye.. What you didnt slot Stamina.. You just took the freebie slot.. well your leaving recovery on the table.. Again., its NOT the toggles

I cant tell you how many times I have had this conversation over the last 20 years. Attacks Drain End FAR more than toggles. BIG attacks drain End more than small attacks. The MORE recharge you add into your build. The FASTER you end drops. You have hasten? Every time hasten drops you lose 20 end. People think toggles drain more because they are swirling around all the time.

I just realized that I havent even tried my Elec/Storm since the changes.
-
I've always liked Sentinels. Now liking them even more with the changes. Ive done Elec/Elec, Fire/Rad, Dark/Bio, and DP/Sr. Im thinking about Fire/Stone, Ice/Stone ( making the stone look like crystal ), Ice/Ice or Water/Ice. Ive read some kinda bad things about Ice Armor. Is it that bad? Ive also never tried Beam Rifle dont know much about it.. I'd love some opinions and suggestions..
-
Bummer.. Thanks
-
I have this in my nuke on my rad/fire and It seemed to trigger when setting off the nuke, I would get several " Sentinels Ward " going off at the same time making a nice little absorb cushion. Now it seems to trigger only once, giving a very small silver or absorption.

Issue 28: Page 1 Farming Microguide (Maps + Builds)
Heatstroke replied to America's Angel's topic in Guides
Ok I have a few questions since there have been some changes and now im kind of in game influence poor for the first time in years. 1) I've fire farmed well before but it seems like it might be time to move on from fire farms, also maybe I just need to switch it up and do something different. Are Smashing Lethal farms the way to go. Are there any good energy farms ( I have a an EA brute that might be good for that). I'm an active farmer, I never AFK farm. 2) Are Brutes even the best option anymore. Should I go with a tanker for more survivability? 3) If i were to go S/L what us a good build for such a farm ? Thanks for the advice -
FINALLY !!!! I was finally able to donate something !!!!!! It feels good to help.

Agreed. I think they are right about where they needs to be..

Focused Feedback: Force Fields Revamp
Heatstroke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I'm trying to figure out the new FF but in all honestly it leaves me very confused and left wanting. Ill try again after the next update but running a Bots/FF with these new mechanics is making learn a new playstyle and I think that is affecting my expectations. Nothing feels very force field to me. When I think Force Field I think about an unbreakable wall that protects people. Why not add some sort of Absorb to one of the defensive powers. Here are some thoughts I have had after testing the new powers and will give it a whirl again once these new changes get added to Beta. Right now it feels " broken " somehow. I'm not much of a data guy. I'm more of a play by feel guy and something just doesn't FEEL right about this new Force Field. It could be I'm used to the old way, but that hasn't effected me when other changes are made. Here are some things I have thought of. Detention Field- Pretty much a power that the majority of the community skips. You could keep the same THEME of Detention by making it a Field that actually uses Forces that have a chance to HOLD enemies. This could work the same way that Distortion Field for Time control works. You could add effects of -res, slow, -recharge, or some combination thereof with a chance to hold (i.e. DETAIN) foes. The chance to hold should be scaling IMO minions should have the best chance to be held. Bosses the least or it need multiple applications or pulses. You keep the Detention Idea.. but the affect is much better.. More useable and makes more sense. Repulsion Bomb- Why not make this power work more like Ice Slick, Bonfire or Earthquake? Its a patch on the ground that Repulses people trying to run past it? Add a -KB IO and it turns it into a knockDOWN powers (or just make it Knockdown from the get go). It could be slotted for damage like Ice Slick/Bonfire. This will also help make up for what some people lost in Force Bubble to some degree. Add a little -slow, -res (10-15%). Personal Force Field- This is REAL simple for me. Make it a personal Absorption Bubble. Make it Force Fields version of Ablative Carapace. You increase survivability and you can still attack. This IMO would help FF a lot and make you feel less like your just here to bubble people and throw a Force Bolt every now and then. Your actually affecting the battle field. Your protecting your team in more than ONE way.. -

Just tested on my Dark/Bio and my Elec/Elec Sentinel... I agree with this whole heartedly. I like the ability for me to control and select Vulnerability on the targets I choose to use it on. It was noticeable on bosses. I doubt I would ever use it on anything less than a boss. I also like that fact that it stays built up until I decide to use it. Its not a "Use it" or "Lose it" like Domination Other Observations. There does seem to be something a little off.. I think it needs that orange ring to pop back up when its available for a second application. I noticed when fighting two bosses that after defeating one, I could quickly debuff the second boss, but there wasn't an obvious visual effect on the power telling me that I COULD use it again. I just tried it. I think definitely could use this. As far as the damage increase. I could notice it. It didn't feel like it was out of line. I'm more of a feel guy than a numbers guy.. It definitely felt like I was " pew pewing " less than I normally would. The increase was more noticeable to me on AoEs. I couldn't tell if the Proc from the ATO was doing anything. Has it been changed? I noticed no changes in the description on test. What does the Opportunity Proc do now? what does it do now beside recharge? Maybe I missed this.. What is the point of having more perception? -

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Ice Control Changes
Heatstroke replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
eh this isnt exciting to me. ill probably get it because it will be more useful than Snow Storm is now.. and I almost never use Snow Storm. -
I agree with this 100% Sentinels need some love. Opportunity should be reworked into something like Domination working towards building in a damage buff for a short period of time., but that cant be perma'd like Domination can.

This sums it up for me. The Sentinel can just keep trucking right along, doing consistent damage over time. Nuking a mob every spawn. My Dark Bio has 5 AoE attacks I can all the time. Six if you count Judgement. I dont get mezzed. I have good ability to heal myself and with Barrier T4 I'm very unlikely to die quickly. I find all my Sentinels fun to play. And thats whats most important to me. Fun. not a DPS spreadsheet. And for the record I have extremely high end builds on every AT in the game. But fun wins every time.
