  1. An electric crow, neat. The posi head comic label is a nice touch too.
  2. Well there is an aura that makes flies buzz around you like the Vahzilok. Fleas and Fireflies too. So Plague of Flies = Flies Aura and Plague of Lice = Fleas Aura and Plague of Locusts = Firefly Aura as an idea? A character with Dark Armor and one of those three auras might look the part of a dark seething mass of pestilence. Tried it with Fireflies. I tossed in face makeup that makes it look like skull teeth and a hood+jesters mask as a nod to the old Plague Doctor's Masks. Just thinking aloud here, feel free to borrow from it or disregard it altogether.
  3. Neat concept QueenBethari, she looks positively ranine when crouching. On the 10 plagues, most should be doable, the death of the first born of Egypt could just be a bunch of Mummies for example. Not sure what you're gonna do about plagues of Locusts and of Lice though.
  4. No worries DD. It is not a law or anything. You don't have to pick a new topic if you don't want to. As you have me quoted above "She could add" not she absolutely must add. I merely put that "draw something then pick something new for others" mechanic there to reward peoples participation. Also it existed in the original thread back from Live and honestly it was one of my favorite parts of the thread. I figure if you have some topics you want to see people make silly doodles of then you should jump in here and try one yourself... you might enjoy it. It's such a low bar for entry too, who doesn't have 5-10 minutes and a pencil/pen/stylus?
  5. So current topics available if anyone else has 5 minutes to spare are... 1. Clockwork 2. PTA/Trains 3. Capes 4. Shields 5. Titan Weapons 6. "I didn't know it would do that!" 7. Marital Arts 8. Nature 9. Praetorian version of your character 10. Dark Astoria ...and DD still has one topic more she could add since she said "onward to shields" and that already existed as a topic. For the topic of Nature I bring you "It's only natural" Seriously guys it's right in their name. New Topic: Torch Emote
  6. I did as well, which is why I asked what kind of feedback you wanted. More later, gotta run some errands now.
  7. I don't think these are collabs DD, unless I mistake her meaning she is drawing them alone but they are of a duo not by a duo. and Dacy just know that there were bunches of 2, 3, 4 and even 5 part collaborations happening back in the day on the live. I took part in like 25+ of them myself. They were very commonplace and hopefully will be again here as more artist types find their way here.
  8. Dacy I am part of the way through the story (liking it so far ) and I was wondering what kind of feedback you were looking for? What did you think of my earlier con/crit in the bios thread? Was it useful and do you want more of that here? Contextual things? (like what I think about a particular turn of phrase?) Simple spelling and grammar? (you do enjoy a good serial comma) Errors and omissions? (i.e. "he could also bait for a trap." from page 5 should instead say "he could also be bait for a trap." or "he could also be the bait for a trap.") Overall impressions? Something else?
  9. *** /e wonders if the Trick and Dacy is a word jumble of "Dick Tracy" police detective? *** Also there is no reason you couldn't have both a community thread like this and your own thread where you put up sketches and first drafts and such. By way of example I have my own art thread here... https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/7992-««-christopher-robins-artz-n-stuff-»»/ but I've creatively contributed to the Art Request Thread, Collab Central, 5 Minute Artz, Costume Design, etc. etc. No time to read the story at the moment but the sketch is off to a great start.
  10. Well you knew this was gonna happen. I'll take one 50% slot for busts and reserve two more please. I mean I want to be polite and let others have a chance but with a first come first serve rule on the half price slots, nice goes out the window. I've already bought more art in the last 30 days than in the last 6 months but everyone keeps having sales and well, Poppa needs a matching set for his mains!
  11. Okay I thought about this for a bit and I think I got something... Cat's eyes! Super subtle I know. That's the only way I could think to make Brahn look like his Praetor counterpart... ...yep, definitely nothing else about his face gives it away. Just the eyes. **/e whistles innocently** New topic: Dark Astoria!
  12. Hmmmm. How to make a hero look like his own evil twin in 5-ish minutes. That's a good challenge. I'll see what I can do Catpockets. As an F.Y.I. any past topic is open to anyone so if anyone else wants to take a stab at this (ebil DD perhaps? Goody two-shoes Gwendolyn?) or any of the others feel free.
  13. Love the fiery hair and black skin in that first piece and shoulder kitten is giving no quarter! Best you hit the bricks villains! ...and by bricks I mean Brickstown! ...and by Brickstown I mean the Zig! ....Cuz that's where you're headed! ...So take that! ...Yeah! Is what I imagine the cat saying, or you know, meowing at them. Also these are really nice, I recognize all the costume pieces (which is always a very good sign) and the wings, cape, clouds and Katana are stand outs. You should totally start an art/story-telling/creative thread Dacy.
  14. The name... I see what you did there. Also I think he's just furious because his ammo clip wasn't a banana. *nods sagely*
  15. Almost as if on cue here's the other kirby-esque inks with you, me and Bobby in a triple collab. This time it was Cheat-Ra and Sherotica that were my prize winners. Here then are their eponymous heroes.
  16. Not to worry you're in the right part of the forums for creating. I don't think there is specifically a long form story section so I would say it goes under the broad umbrella of Multimedia. As for the best way just start your own thread or edit your original post in this one and change the title to "Dacy's Creative Bits" or what have you and you should be all set.
  17. Cute! ...and it's definitely not another new style of chibi separate from all the others you have done that you totally didn't master overnight while you slept.
  18. Nice one Catpockets and welcome to the best part of the forums! You also get to pick a new topic if you wish. Thanks for that Tem... Thankew vera much.
  19. Ummm, okay... Not sure what I was expecting here, pages and pages of great name/costume combinations perhaps but I'm glad that worked out for someone, I guess?
  20. Thank you Healix. I was quite happy with how that last one turned out as well although it was the first image that unleashed the ravenous art collector known as Caemgen upon the world (and yea a veritable nation of starving artists would hunger no more) so it kind of holds a special place for me (and in history). Moar collaby goodness! Among Baquitania's many artistic talents was his ability to do what he called "kirby-esque" inking. This is a collab we did as a prize for one of my many contests back in the day on Live. Fighting Patriot was the lucky winner. Lines by Bobby, colors by me.
  21. Some quick thoughts. These look great! Amusing that Placate has a red heart shape in the center of the palm. "I'm all about the lov... ASSASSIN STRIKE!" Not sure but on the first three images it looks more a like streak following the "bang" than a series of fading black rings? Curious why there is a thin white line at the left right top and bottom of each? These look great! Did I say that already? Well they do.
  22. I like the idea of using Radiation to "shine the light of truth" on things. Interesting concept! Also seafoam green and dusty pink make for... an interesting color combination.
  23. I believe there is a rather important "M" missing from "a mark upon them, a taint." It reads a bit different without it. 😳
  24. @Dacy IKR? The character limit is the bane of a good story's existence! As for suggestions to shorten it without losing meaning I suggest these bits below. Use or ignore them as you see fit. The scene replays relentlessly in her mind. The scene replays endlessly in her mind. It gains a you a few characters and something on endless replay is pretty relentless. when one's mother had some limited telepathic ability. when one's mother has a mild form of telepathy. Gets you a few more. "Had" to "has" unless her mother lost this ability. someone else in the man's mind. someone else in his mind. You already said "he" earlier with "as he tried to read" so "his" works in place of "the man's" Shaken, still, she was sure the danger had passed. But, the Carnival came for her that night. Once home she felt safe but that night the Carnival came for her. Shorter and establishes that she is at home now to better set the stage for what happens next. Bitter regret fills her mind, remembering. Remembrance brings bitter regret. Similar meaning, fewer calories. (Less filling, tastes great!) She let her sister hide her. She had let her sister hide her. Here I would actually add a word for clarity of past tense. Her eyes, now devoid of emotion, slowly turned to Karissa's hiding place. Her eyes, devoid of any emotion, slowly turned towards Karissa's hiding place. Dropped "now" and added "any" since it's still the past and now doesn't happen until the very last line. Swapped in "towards" in place of "to" as it is more directional. Desperation lent strength to the psychic shockwave Karissa unleashed, but she barely escaped. Now she works for the day when she will be able to rescue her sister Desperation lent great strength to the psychic shockwave Karissa unleashed, yet she barely escaped alive. Her sole purpose now is to free her sister from the evil Carnival of Shadows! Added "great" for more emphasis ("immense" strength would work here too), swapped in "yet" for "but" and added "alive" for more drama. Modified the rest to add the villain group's full title, there should be enough saved characters to afford this and any other short additions you might want. Perhaps "clutches" before or after evil or the Carnival of Shadows or something to that effect. Anywho those were my thoughts, hope they help. Cheers!
  25. That came out very nice indeed and great find on the artist MBM thanks for sharing.
