  3. realistically ALL the Teir 9's need some help. Granite Armor has too many drawbacks for the modern game. SOW is nearly pointless if you have tough and IO sets on your WP Fire and Dark's only work when you die .. I mean cmon. They should at least do SOMETHING when you are alive.
  4. With creative binds you can effectively do this. You can set Hasten to fire every time you move forward if its up, for example
  5. I think they are in the sense that they are keeping Double Stacked Rage at all. Some in this thread are arguing for Double Stacked Crashless Rage. Some in this thread are arguing for Constant Debuff Triple and More stacked rage, but I'm going going to cover my eyes and say nanananana to that noise.
  6. I made a WP/SS tanker on the day WP came out. I thought it was the coolest set ever. Finally I could tank stuff and my Toggles wouldn't drop in like 3 seconds Since you couldn't team with Brutes blueside the weak Taunt aura was never really noticeable. Sure another Tanker would strip aggro off you but that was no big deal,

  9. I generally agree. But it seems like its taken as set in stone somewhere. But its not really. If you do balance around SOs but allow IOs well then this is the kind of balance problems you will see. The Brute will be able to tank. So i guess the Tank will have to be able to brute.

  11. A lot of the early tanker sets had only one AOE, that doesn't mean it was the set's flavor .. it just means its an old set.
  12. Hmmm. Just now it occurs to me. Is it a necessity to balance the game around SOs though? A lot of MMOs are balanced around having a certain level of gear after all. Of course the current balance makes the game more fun for casual players ..

  15. Protecting it from what though? If the brute can already adequately protect the team, how is increasing the Tankers protectiveness but not damage going to solve the overlap? At least with the bigger AOEs etc, the tank will find it easier to grab aggro in situations where the baddies are more spread out. Which is a lot rougher on teams than them clustered around the brute/tank. Then of course throw in that at level 50 most teams need no protection 90% of the time, but the tanker still needs to be able to play ..
  16. Its countering a situation where Brutes are probably better vs almost all content. So I expect that increasing overlap is unavoidable.
  17. This was what i meant early in the thread. We seem to have the most info on TW/BIO at the io incarnate level. The numbers help though of course, but I think those were to compensate for the slow times. Which boosts damage in those situations where you can maximize momemtum up time. Even on SOs Though tbh on just SOs i think you'd run out of END too fast for it to matter.

  20. Im confused, tanker damage goes up pretty handidly and some are complaining they won't do enough damage?
  21. Could argue your subjective experiences on brutes and tankers is also not seeing the full range of the set. Since slow attacks do not favor brutes due to fury, and tankers have a low scale.
  22. Except the disparities are often brought up from pylon times. The OP didn't include that stuff. There have been a huge amount of strawmen thrown about though.
  23. Its the opposite, it reduces the risk to squishies. Making the game easier.
  24. You can't balance around that stuff. You can't even quantify it.
