  2. The devil is in the details and the degree of inconvenience. For instance, complaining about a player repeatedly jumping right into the middle of every mob with Force Bubble active would be pretty damn justified. Complaining about a couple little guys being immobilized outside of your PBAoE radius when said little guys still have a pitiful lifespan of only a few seconds... that just signals to other players that you’re incompetent.
  3. It does seem like the only way you could affect an ally with an enemy targeted attack is for the ally effect to be something like an AoE around either the target or caster. But yeah, throw VS a lil bone by all means.
  4. Disagreement =/= trolling. The devs here will only tell you the same. That being said, even by my own brash standards, Ms Aurora is being a tad edgelord here 🙂
  5. Imagine still thinking you have to have mobs tightly grouped around a brute/tank to steamroll this whole game with next to zero effort.
  6. Yeah, well, you could argue it needs a new set name I guess, like they did with Darkness Affinity. I’d be more ok with a new set name than with Phantom Army as is on doms, as far as balance goes.

  8. And thank god. Allowing there to be a +0 hard mode would be stupid. +0 is called easy mode, and a +0 hard mode would just be an easy mode farm of supposedly hard mode rewards.
  9. I have no problem with them being allowed to try. But if the content is easy enough for them to complete, at least without utterly obscene delays, then that content is not genuinely hard enough for this to be a worthwhile development. That’s the mode we already have. That’s not a new thing at all. Fortunately Cobalt’s posts indicate they likely already agree with me on these issues.
  10. To two ideas above: If 8 blasters can do a hard mode tf, then it isn’t actually hard mode. If rewards don’t increase with difficulty, then it’s just another self gimp mode. We already have those and the devs shouldn’t waste their time on another.

  13. Why do you pursue badges specifically if they aren’t a reward?
  14. Dominators are the AT most likely to already be built for high recharge since their inherent practically demands it, so they’re actually best positioned to get OP with PA.

  16. A damage class having invincible tanks might be a but much yeah. I’d totally support a port that swaps Phantom Army for another AoE mez (probably stun?). Problem is, lots of forumgoers don’t give a damn about balance and will likely make the devs regret it if they try to give doms a gift without phantom army. A 70-page thread of bickering is all but guaranteed 😉
  17. But did anyone say that about soloing in general, or was it more about implicit expectations such as (1) everything has to be soloable or (2) design choices have to consider soloists?
  18. The fastest Fire/Ice tanker I knew was doing crazy things like slotting 6 microfilaments in Swift (back when HO’s had higher values). Because yeah, the build was wide open. Burn alone slaughtered entire maps with ease. In spite of all the power creep, An Incarnated Rad/Fire right now is still way slower at clearing the Dreck map than a Fire Tanker was back in the day.

  20. The Incarnate system seems extremely simple and intuitive to me, tbh
  21. Playing while debuffed IS changing your build. AGAIN, no other MMO says “you wanted a challenge? Stop using all the tools at your disposal” Difficulty and rewards are NOT entirely separate issues.
  22. Now that nice analogy has been stated, let’s recall that this IS an MMO and no other well designed MMO requires maxed out characters to artificially gimp themselves with zero compensation to find the endgame remotely challenging 🙂 Good for sports tho, I guess.
  23. No other MMO I’ve ever played requires you to specifically avoid playing a maxed out a character if you want to feel like your cat couldn’t beat the game. Soon, we hope, this one won’t either. Because I like maxed out characters and therefore think self-gimping is a ridiculous way to achieve some semblance of difficulty, “Players debuffed”, unslotting incarnates or IO’s, etc, are all off the table. The exception we need to consider more is enemies buffed, as that requires no self gimping (besides rewards rate self gimping). Tie additional rewards to that option and I will consider using it.
