  1. CoD is pretty well up to date. It even has powersets that haven’t been released quite yet. You can do this calculation manually with ease using CoD; all Bill’s idea would require is for CoD’s recharge times and Arcanatimes to be accessible to some calculator tool.
  2. My best guess is, based on how Snark slots Blasters, he’s probably slotting Sentinels in a highly suboptimal way.
  3. 100% and 1 are the same thing mathematically
  4. I think you’re going to be much happier with your experience once you (1) get your first IO build going and, to a lesser extent, (2) get more comfortable with inspirations. Both are powerful tools that can offset your AT’s weaknesses. For instance, Blasters need break frees and a smidge of defense. Sentinels are dying for damage procs. PM me you global chat handle if you would like to ask questions more in game 🙂
  5. Game does not need it’s defaults switched to the opposite 17 years after we’ve gotten used to it. And then your annoying post format just made it 100x easier to justify blunt disagreement 🙂
  6. Yeah I think you need to get over the existence of different playstyles. I am not saying your binds are too much for me to wrap my head around. I’m saying I don’t want them.
  7. Also can we not compare under-the-hood adjustments to the base game to simply learning how to play the base game. Kind of not even similar.
  8. I’m closer to just deleting the macros entirely since, like binds, I don’t find them that helpful. I frequently drift into using the regular buttons for those powers anyway.
  9. Eh, I disagree. These are the buttons I absolutely need for every play session: W/A/S/D R - auto-run Ctrl - set auto power Space Bar - jump Tab - target Left/Right mouse/trackpad button I would also NEVER use more than4 power trays because that, also, sounds like needless chaos. You seem to get frustrated that I’m not availing myself of your binds, but I’m struggling to see why you think they’re so necessary. No, also, controls are not the same as custom binds. Base controls are intuitive, not under the hood, and can be recalled by a look at the options menu. I also don’t have mids because it’s not compatible with my operating system. I suppose you’d have a problem with that too.
  10. Ok that makes sense. Still doesn’t sound fun to set up or to use in active combat, but I can visualize it at least 🙂
  11. I’m not crazy about macros either but will use them on characters with several location AoE’s. I have never used any Macro beyond the “cast at my target’s location” though. Other than that, looks about right 🙂
  12. My biggest problem with marketeering is the combination of (1) I don’t have the patience to save for a long time; I earn then spend (constant stream of new 50’s every week to feed). Add to that (2) Marketeering incentivizes people that save long-term because it grows more lucrative the more capital you have to invest. Farming doesn’t punish my lack of discipline in this way, so I prefer it. I’m still trying to do a little market stuff here and there tho. Oh, and the QoL issues with converters are pretty annoying (the part where you can’t lock it to converting within sets of the same type) so it never feels like the 5-10 minutes of work people always mention here. Converting 70 uncommons into desirable rares feels like a real slog compared to just sitting still with Burn on auto. I put in a buttload of bids last night though, so here’s to hoping I get better at this.
  13. I have a Graniteless Stoner that doesn’t have any huge survivability issues (well, outside of Lord Recluse flattening me a couple times - add some energy res if you’re serious about him). It’s Stone/Kin tho so I might make another with a better secondary some day. Kin can be passable with a ton of procs plus a good APP (mine has Fossilize and Stalagmites proc bombed too) but the animations will simply never be a good deal.
  14. IO everything. IO two builds if you like. Why not? 🙂
  15. iTrials are definitely plenty active on Excelsior right now.
  16. What kind of a sucker buys lunch for a wisecracking economist
  17. Point noted - I just remembered that, on live, at one point I did farm +0 every now and then in a desperate attempt to score a purple since those kinds of assets were out of reach for such a peasant.
  18. My Stone Tank skipped Granite Armor because I’m allergic to anemic damage.
  19. MA is one of the few remaining melee sets I don’t have kitted out at 50 - along with Street Justice and Battle Axe. StJ will go with a Stalker probably. I was going to probably make an Elec/MA eventually - to maximize the usefulness of Storm Kick.
  20. Shield is awesome. Definitely in the upper tiers. Get basically every power except maybe not the T9 and you should have capped defenses, 80-85% DDR, and decent resistances/HP. Grant Cover will look like garbage to you at first, but DDR is not to be underestimated. Tankers have to be built well for their damage to be truly impressive, but Shield’s damage buff / shield charge makes that much easier. If you aren’t confident in your skills or using timely inspirations, consider a set like Dark Melee that covers Shield’s no-heal hole, but it’s really not necessary.
  21. Huh? I farm basically every day.... Does not compute. You know a person can simultaneously be a farmer and be opposed to farming getting any easier/more lucrative than it already is, right?
  22. Yeah that’s probably not for me. I’m a fairly neanderthal gamer with my WASD movement and my trackpad 🙂
  23. Pretty much any tanker can be IO’d to nigh invincibility, yes. Willpower will be the most mindless due to zero required click powers. Only caveat on that one is you should be vigilant against singular hard targets, as you are a lot less tough before Rise to the Challenge gets going. I have one or more tankers of each primary IO’d. They’re all fun.
