Does Savage Leap have this issue? If not, can the power just work like Savage Leap? Seems like the closest comparison I can think of.

Of course a single Aether is going to be worth more than a single Reward Merit, but as far as comparing 8 Aethers to 80 Merits, Vanden has it right. I don’t see any utility that Reward Merits have that Prismatics don’t outside of fringe cases (like needing Merits specifically to purchase Mini Tyrant from Luna). As far as the utility of turning them into Converters or Boosters or IO’s or whatever, you can of course achieve the same thing by selling your Aethers on the market and then purchasing said Converters/Boosters/etc. Although you’ll probably lose a small percentage of the overall value in the Auction House process.

Again, nothing is preventing you from turning your Aethers into Converters via the Auction House and doing the exact same thing. This isn’t something where you can agree to disagree; this is simply objective reality.

If you want to be a stickler about that, you could just as easily sell the Prismatics, buy Converters, and proceed from there with your marketeering scheme. Minotaur rewards easily match Hamidon rewards and there’s no way around that.

I use Discord too. I would just prefer to open a vein before joining *those* servers.

Completely unfair comparison. On Excelsior, you have to be a part of 1 of 2 or 3 Discord channels to have daily access to easily completed 4* TF’s. And the absolute worst people in the game are active on those discord channels. Labyrinth is easily joined and completed from the LFG channel without exposing one’s self to the dickheads you get on those 4* running discord servers. Acting like just anyone can summon a competent and speedy 4* team from thin air reeks of elitism.

I sincerely think people just don’t understand the monetary value of Aethers vs Merits.

There’s not a single Dominator primary that would struggle to find places for the ATO sets if one were so inclined to slot them. Not seeing an issue.

This. If you want to do hard mode content, you want neither defense nor resistance in your blaster build unless it’s coming from Barrier. My 4 star builds are sitting comfortably in the 0-10% range for both metrics. Aka as little as possible. Focusing too much on either defense or resistance will gimp your damage output and put you firmly on the “getting carried” slot on the team.

Temporal Mending has a much longer recharge than Radiant Aura so that comparison is irrelevant. Transfusion requires aggroing mobs and players positioned near the mobs so that comparison is irrelevant. Seems like it’s working as intended to me. Try Vigor Core if you’re concerned about it.

Lots of sets can be viable, but damage-wise, Staff and KM are at the bottom of the barrel. Rad/Savage would be an AoE monster but would still struggle to take down hard targets. If it were me, I’d pair Rad/ with something that doesn’t have bottom tier single target damage, specifically.

Staff Fighting pretty much ensures you’re a pure meat shield with no damage contribution btw. Radiation Armor proc bomb AoE’s will offset that a bit on the AoE side, but just FYI. It’s a dreadful secondary for damage.

To correct your comment in the OP: there are many toggles in the game that cost more. I don’t see any issue with this one.
