Agreed I guess. But Sonic is so depressing to play on a Blaster. That -res does something but it’s very hard to perceive. So what it “feels like” in practice is absolutely the worst damage of any blast set. If you’re assigning it value based on the -res, you realize you’re probably contributing more playing it as a Defender. Which still feels like a slog outside of AV fights. Agree with your assessment vs AR. And here’s why I don’t think Energy is that awful. It has aim, a heavy hitter, a TAoE, a snipe, and a traditional nuke. Unlike many sets, it isn’t completely missing a piece. Some sets are good enough to compensate (Ice and Water live without snipes, Beam and Dark live without a TAoE), but my opinion is that the missing pieces in Sonic, AR, and maybe DP (sans proc build) now I think about it… really put them in a place where they are no better and likely worse than Energy. Force Feedback can have some nice applications too. -

Just btw, the night I realized EA is awesome: Did runs of one of those ultra hard AE missions. 801 or similar, might’ve been Voltak’s not Linea’s? Run 1. We have two Times. Everyone knows Time is OP. Seems like a good bet. We get rekt over and over and we can’t do it. Run 2. Both Times (myself and another) switch to EA’s. We steamroll those missions no problem. Conclusion. EA must only be undervalued because we play such easy content that survivability isn’t a challenge. It’s absolutely insanely good at keeping an entire team alive, with big fat absorb bars to boot. It eclipses Empathy and provides better offensive buffs than that too. -
As a side note that looks like it’s not relevant to you, I’ve been having more issues with crashing since installing Monterey.

No matter how many examples? You mean one? I have at least one tanker of each primary maxed out. I can’t remember the last time I died. So what is there for your Brute to be superior too?

Maybe. I don’t have a problem with the cone arc so I don’t know. Balance wise Ion probably should’ve never had its current target cap. The way I see it comparing the numbers, if you exclude Ion, the trend roughly is “the easier it is to use, the lower the target cap”. Hence Pyronic being the lowest. But Ion breaks that hypothesis and would always be number 1 were it not for the fact that Pyronic is better against Pylons, AV’s, etc due to a tiny 1-second technicality.

No it’s not. Lord Recluse is 0.00[however many zeroes]01% of the game and requires very specific tools to tank. It’s completely possible, even likely, for a brute with those specific tools to top a tank without them while being inferior to the tank in many other ways. Nobody cares. You can’t prove anything about general play because only an idiot tank would be dying.

I’m not positive about hard content but yeah this is completely invincible on S/L heavy +4x8.

None of the armor sets should be dying on a tank outside of extremely rare exceptions (a few can’t handle Lord Recluse). So I don’t know how you could get this data except from watching bad tanker players. You need tanks to die to gather evidence for your claim, but if they die they suck too much to reasonably be part of the data set.

IMO even if you slot sudden acceleration in every single power, which IMO is not quite necessary, it easily comes out ahead of Sonic and AR. Obviously you shouldn’t knock things away from you if you plan to follow up with a melee attack, but that’s a synergy issue you can get around by not making bad combos. Same with /Sonic. It forces you to blap to be effective, but that’s not a problem if you think about synergy before picking your combo. -

It’s light years ahead of the three I listed as definites 🙂 Holy hell, Electrical Affinity???? Someone has never done a truly hard task with vs without one. Seismic Blast and Sonic Manipulation are also high end sets. Nerve Alpha is fine, but Resilient is not 🙂 -
You would have to pry purple from Roleplaying’s cold dead hands, but it would need to be some distinct recognizable color.

If you want to go wider you go Vorpal. If you think there’s still too much imbalance, maybe we have to nerf Ion. Ofc I don’t want to nerf Ion, but, like the Seeds of Confusion vs Mass Confusion debate, you’ll get what you ask for if you keep pressing on the imbalance. Of course all of the Judgements are actually obscenely overpowered in the context of everything. People acting like Cryonic is irredeemable just shows how horribly spoiled we’ve all become from never-ending power creep.

Confirming this is working as intended. It’s the resistance specifically that is the issue. For instance Power Boost affects Fortitude, which grants +damage. Farsight isn’t similar since no resistance buff, but you should still expect that one to be potentially adjusted in some way since it’s currently obscenely overpowered.

The only change to confuse that makes any sense with how much it overperforms is nerfing Seeds of Confusion with a cooldown increase. Buffing confuse is a downright wacky idea. The premise of your thread is simply 100% false. A “buff confuse thread” should be taken as seriously as “buff Phantom Army” or “Fulcrum Shift needs help” etc.

Yeah every single Judgement has angles from which it’s awesome, you just have to understand how to use Cryonic and Vorpal. Cones not a problem.

Would be cool to have a LocAoE one. Maybe a technology oriented animation too. Both of those in one = nuclear strike? 🙂
