Wanted to Introduce Myself....and ask questions
PeregrineFalcon replied to WuTang's topic in General Discussion
Welcome to Paragon City! Yes, Tanks and Tankers are the same thing. Enhancements are: Training Origin (TOs), Dual Origin (DOs), Single Origin (SOs), Invention Origin (IOs), and there are a few other rare types. P.S. Send an in game email to @Yomo and he'll send you 100 million Influence, the in-game currency. He does this for new players cause he's cool like that. -
I agree. I'd love to see some actual villainy added to the game. In fact I even talked about it in the thread started by a developer about it. I recommend posting there to insure that a developer will see your ideas. Please just stop. You know full well that by suggesting added PvP in Atlas Park of all places that the flames that you're going to be fanning will be epic. You're clearly just trying to get people in trouble. If you're reading this I recommend not responding at all. It's not worth the risk and it's not like you're going to change his mind or behavior. .

Prestige for Super Groups Again
PeregrineFalcon replied to Earth Dragon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If I'd been fixing bases during the snap I wouldn't have erased Prestige, I'd have made it so that you earn Prestige for the SG you're in regardless of whether you're in SG mode or not. Earning Prestige wouldn't affect XP or Inf in any way. The Prestige earned would be like one tenth of your XP earned (or something, I'm just guessing at numbers) and base items would still cost Prestige, but it'd be much lower costs than on the retail servers. So by the time you got a single character to 50 you'd be able to afford most of the utility items. A second 50 would be more than enough to afford pretty much everything. After that Prestige would keep going up, without limit, and just serve as a way to measure SG activity. It's probably far too late at this point to implement this kind of system, and I suspect that most people would be against it even if it were implemented in a way that it wouldn't affect your current base. -
Focused Feedback: High-Level Council Revamp

Solo play is different if you increase the difficulty. It's basically the same if you run on +0x1 and I think that's the point. To allow them to still be soloed while making the higher difficulty levels actually difficult. And teams of Incarnates are pretty much going to steamroll anything outside of Incarnate Trials. Nothing you can really do about that without adding a "Hard Mode" or "Incarnate Mode" to normal mission difficulty settings. -

I agree. -
I tested again tonight with a level 46 MA/SR Scrapper. Don't ask why. I said I wouldn't do any more testing for Homecoming because the devs just ignore what we say anyway. Anyway, My MA/SR Scrapper on Brainstorm has all even level SOs except for 2 Performance Shifter Procs and a Miracle +15% recovery in Health. I love SR but I already did the pre-Issue 9 ride to 50 being beat constantly with the blue bar. +0x0 No apparent change. +1x2 I ran through the caves and killed Domi so fast that I won't be surprised if he reports me for "Gatekeeping." Whatever, I'm used to it at this point. +1x4 Second group I encountered was lead by a "Master of Ruin" it was fine but he was only a boss and he had more Hit Points then most EBs. Fighting him wasn't a challenge, it was just boring. When I finally ran into the big boss, Faculus, wasn't nearly as tough as the Master of Ruin. Bottom line: good luck soloing them on a blaster, so no change there, but a properly build scrapper with some inspirations won't have a problem.

Ok, you said level 46 so I specifically tested it again at level 46. MA/SR Scrapper. All even level SOs except for 2 Performance Shifter Procs and a Miracle +15% recovery in Health because I'm so @&$(%_* tired of dealing with endurance issues. +0x0 I ran through it and crushed Archon Lucretia on autopilot. +1x2 The Galaxy Lts were tough and kept rezzing. I kept trying to finish them off with Crane Kick to see if they died while away from it would prevent them from rezzing the way I can with Super Stunners. Then I ran into Archon Lucretia again and he seemed to be just another named Galaxy. +1x4 So many Galaxies I finally ran out of greens and died. I could have stocked up on purples and greens and finished the mission but I decided not to bother. Their extra abilities aren't a problem. The problem is that the new enemies have so many Hit Points that fighting them gets boring. -

Do you really think I don't know that? It was a joke, dude. Lighten up Francis. -

PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Is it reasonable to tell someone that if they run in to problems, in an MMO, to either turn down the difficulty or team with another person? Yes. It is entirely reasonable to tell them that. I was soloing with a level 40 Sentinel with even level SOs at +1 x4. Anyone who solos at +0 x1 isn't going to notice the difference when this goes live, except that the Galaxy dude now has a bubble around him for no apparent reason. Asked and answered. Objection overruled! -

I tried testing the new Council with my level 30 Sentinel, but I couldn't get any radio missions with Council in the time that I was willing to spend on it. In any case, I just boosted my Fire/Energy Sentinel up to level 40. Once again he had just even level SOs, except for a single Performance Shifter proc for the extra endurance. Now he also has Assault, Tractics, and Tough. Radio missions at +1 x4, Council are way more difficult at this level than they are on the live servers. Of course, the fact that I ran into several groups that were all, or mostly, the new Galaxies probably had something to do with that. Is that really supposed to happen? In any case, a few inspirations and I was fine. Definitely more interesting to fight than before. -

Now he also has Assault, Tractics, and Tough. Radio missions at +1 x4. Lots of Spectral Oranbegans, a name which I don't remember and isn't on the wiki (I wonder if that's what I saw at level 30, but I don't know), and I even ran into something called an Ancient Thorn Specter. In any case, they still aren't anymore difficult than before. The Specters still just try to flat-line my accuracy, while everyone else either shoots ridiculous hand crossbows at me, or tries to light me on fire. Unlike the Council, the Circle at this level just didn't seem to be any more difficult at all.

Focused Feedback: High-Level Council Revamp
PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I was just on Brainstorm testing this. I was solo with a level 50 Tank doing radio missions on my island. My tank is Invuln so Council have never been any real threat. With the changes I was actually taking some damage, not enough to really matter though, and I kept having to kill the Galaxies twice. That doesn't really bother me though. I'm used to it from fighting Freakshow a lot. Basically it didn't make them more of a threat, just more interesting. -

He specifically said "a lot of people." Are you "a lot of people"? No, you're JebidiahBeetus. So he clearly wasn't talking about you. Maybe you're not aware of this, but many of us have noticed over the last 5 years that we're been posting on this forum that people will post a suggestion and then absolutely lose their marbles and attack anyone who disagrees with their suggestion. Even if someone mostly agrees, but just wants to tweak the suggestion slightly, posters will often go off on them. Now I'm not saying that you would do this, and Doc did not say that you would do this, but if your suggestion is implemented those people who freak out when people disagree with their suggestion will use the ability that you're suggesting to delete every post, and block every poster, who disagrees with them. People disagreeing with suggestions is a good thing. How do you know if most people like the suggestion if the OP can simply delete the posts that disagree? How do the developers know? And lastly, how will you know if your suggestion is a good one or not if people aren't allowed to disagree with it? -

Hope this answers your questions: Yes, there are plenty of people playing on most of the servers during most hours of the day to making teaming easy. Most populated server is Excelsior, but you should stay away from that one for awhile as the recent surge of new players is causing issues for that server. Yes, very little healing is needed at level 50+, unless you're running Hard Mode Content. It is very slow and/or difficult to solo with most controllers. I recommend a Corruptor, they do more damage. You can mail Influence to your own Global Name and then pull it out of the email on whichever server you're on. Also, if you send an email to @Yomo he'll send you 100 million Influence, just cause he's cool like that.

Focused Feedback: Role Diversity Bonus
PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Yes. It's the same reason why Force Field Defenders and Masterminds are support but Force Field Corruptors and Controllers are not. -
I've had this happen to me before too. Were you logged off in the Vanguard base or Rikti War Zone? There's a Day Job Badge that awards 2 Vanguard Merits upon mission completion.

Focused Feedback: High-Level Council Revamp
PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Remember when folks spent nearly a year flooding the forums with "Game too easy, bruh!" threads? Well, if they're now complaining that just a bit of challenge has been added to the game then it looks like the developers hit the target spot on. -
Originally they were, and the Requiem and Fascist thing was a retcon. Either way they were a Nazi Super Group who took their orders directly from Der Führer. Don't play this story arc if it makes you uncomfortable. My villains are members of the VG The Fifth Column: Warwolf Division. This VG was started on Virtue back around Issue 8 or so, back before the Fifth Column returned, and are currently on Torchbearer. They were a division of the Fifth Column that survived the war against The Center and went into hiding. That being said I in no way endorse or condone The Fifth Column's beliefs or Nazi beliefs. Sometimes it's fun to play the villain in a video game specifically because I would never act like that in real life. Not because I'm afraid to, but because I see those beliefs and actions as evil and I choose to not be evil. Having villainous video game characters and teaming up with other bad guys isn't endorsing their actions. I used to play GTA all the time, IRL I would never condone stealing someone's car. And what exactly does "red flag" even mean in this context? Does that mean I have to sit in a penalty box for 3 minutes if I like this story arc?

I agree with you that this game still running is amazing, and the Circle of Twelve is amazing for reviving it and keeping it running. However, that does not mean that we cannot criticize their decisions. They even start feedback threads where they ask for criticism. So white-knighting for the developers makes no sense. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not defending Eldriyth's insulting posts nor his inability to capitalize proper nouns. But if the moderators are ok with him posting this nonsense then why are you jumping in trying to defend the poor helpless devs? This is not a rhetorical question, I would really like to know the answer.
