Add a fun RP/PvP Zone Event!
PeregrineFalcon replied to PeregrineFalcon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't always PvP. But when I do, it's on my Imperial Agent Sniper. -
What is the relationship between Rogue Isles and The US?
PeregrineFalcon replied to huang3721's topic in General Discussion
I wonder how many "Longbow" are TAD, or just former, U.S. Military personnel. You have to admit, it'd be a great way to field test a lot of high-tech equipment for the U.S. Military without officially involving the U.S. -
Yeah, because someone who's in the middle of a fight with a giant monster has the time to just stop and invite you to the team. Geez. Do you people ever think of anyone other than yourselves?
-
It's not semantics. The term you're looking for is "internally consistent." That's not the same thing as a semantic argument.
-
I don't disagree with you on that, but... Is unrealistic really the argument that you want to make about how things work in an online video game that has Super Heroes, Wizards, Time Travelers and Aliens?

At EG7, Daybreak announced they are discontinuing development on the Marvel MMO. This is the second Marvel MMO they've canceled. The speculation is whether Jack quit so they canceled the MMO or if they canceled the MMO so Jack quit. Either way, I'm certain that whatever Jack does at Jackalope Games will be mediocre and controversial.

So what you're saying is that I was right the first time? 😉

Add a fun RP/PvP Zone Event!

First I want to thank you all for responding to my brilliant idea in such a constructive way. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, today has turned out to be busier than normal for a Friday. Let me see if I can address some of the questions. Remember, people don't have to stay in the zone. And, if they do, they don't actually have to PvP. They can just search for the spawn point of the Mental Control Transmitter and the Nemesis troops guarding it. Sure. Like you'd be exempted to level 10 if it was in Atlas Park, 25 in Steel Canyon, etc. Just like if you get a Safeguard mission from Agent Hassell. Because the badge text explains why it's happening in a way that's in keeping with established lore. Perhaps I should have said that it's a Lore Event, but it didn't occur to me. And I'm not sure that Lore Event's even a term. And finally: HOW DARE YOU!!! -
I've been doing a lot of thinking and I've finally come up with a brilliant idea that will spice the game up for everyone, and get a lot of players to come back to the game. An RP/PvP zone event! Here's how it would work. In a random zone, players would hear the warning siren, like they do when a Rikti invasion is about to start. About a minute later everyone still in the zone would get a big message "PvP has been ENABLED!" This would give players plenty of time to opt out by leaving the zone. As an incentive to participate, they'll be a certain spot in the zone -like one of those banner events- with a bunch of Nemesis soldiers guarding a device. If the device is found and destroyed before the event ends then everyone gets a badge and a Super Pack as a reward. The wording of the badge should explain that Nemesis was testing his prototype mass mind control device, which is why the heroes started fighting each other. So the event will not only be fun and rewarding, but also fit in with the lore and be great for role playing. Ok, I know that some of you really don't like PvP, so to avoid that event you'd just have to stay out of that zone for 15 or 20 minutes.

Has NPC pet/escort AI changed?
PeregrineFalcon replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in General Discussion
Were you running Tactics? Or anything else that increases perception for people around you? I ask because it's always been the case that +perception powers increase the aggro radius of friendly NPCs, like Lady Jane and Fusionette. -
Which zones wowed you the most?
PeregrineFalcon replied to Nayland1971's topic in General Discussion
Wait, what? I played villain side a lot. In fact my first character was a villain. It was the mayhem missions that convinced me to buy CoV in the first place. I don't remember Mercy Island being changed. Not saying that it wasn't. I'm old. There's lots of things that I forget. How was it changed? -
Complete Creation and Return to List
PeregrineFalcon replied to Perma-Newbie's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Oh, c'mon! This is a horrible idea. We all know it, and we all know why. Removing all of the hurdles that slow the process of creating a character will allow a script/bot to make 1,000 characters in a matter of seconds. This would just be creating yet another way to attack the server and possibly take it down. And the benefit? When I make a new character I'll be able to get them money and into an SG 60 whole seconds faster. Now, adding the ability to invite your character to an SG while in the character creation screen? Sure! That's a great idea. -
The problem with your method is that the M in PEMDAS says very specifically that all multiplication is done and THEN division, which is the D in PEMDAS. Your solution ignores that and treats multiplication and division as equal, which they are not.

Ok, this has been bugging me, so I went and found this: - What is the Order of Operations? Operations have a specific order, and this is what “Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally” helps us to understand. It’s an acronym that tells us in which order we should solve a mathematical problem. “Please” stands for “Parentheses,” so we solve everything inside of the parentheses first. Then, “Excuse,” which is for “Exponents.” We solve that after we solve everything in parentheses. Multiplication, which is the “My,” and this happens from left to right. And then division, which is the “Dear,” which also happens left to right. And then we have addition and subtraction, which also happens from left to right, and this is “Aunt” and “Sally.” - It's been awhile since I've been in school, but I do vaguely remember the acronym PEMDAS. So using that order of operations the formula should be solved in this order: 6÷2(1+2) = ? 6÷2*3 = ? 6÷6 = ? ? = 1 Which means that I was wrong and you all were correct.

I do agree with you, and I've said this in other threads, that the developers should at least post on the forums what they want to do with Rage. Even if it's just to tell us that they will never touch it. I wouldn't like that response, but at least then we'd know. Personally, I think they should just delete Rage, put an actual attack in its place, and adjust the damage on all of the attacks so that Super Strength's DPS is roughly equal to the current version of Titan Weapons. Then they could port it to Scrappers without a problem. They'll never do that of course because the forum rage would be epic. Failing that they should just change Rage to a toggle for Brutes and Tanks and the version ported to Scrappers should just have Build Up. Once again they're not going to do that because the forum rage would be epic. So we're stuck where we're at now. As long as we can double stack Rage it's going to have a crash, which is fine as is.

The person you're responding to is one of those that wants Super Strength to be the highest damage powerset in game. You can tell by one of his earlier posts where he wrote: Which is clearly untrue. Also, he's one of those that conveniently forgets that while the crash is in effect the character can still Taunt and do damage with vet powers like Sands of Mu (as Greycat pointed out), Undead Slaying Axe, or Nemesis Staff. As I said earlier. There's no point in even responding to these folks. They'll never admit that they're wrong, their statements are provably false and they're clearly just trolling.

1) I'm not defending the developers. 2) If you'd read the posts above you'd have seen that my post was a joke. A joke that was specifically asked for by another poster. 3) Grow a sense of humor.

Nein. 😁 No, seriously. The actual answer is 9. .

Super Strength is fine as is. It doesn't need to be buffed. The crash lasts for 10 whole seconds, deal with it. Case dismissed!
