  1. I have not tried all of the new movement powers as of yet but as far as teleport is concerned I LOVE IT! The new, longer hover time make porting around viable and breaking the float with a tap on a movement key is great. My MM team teleports in with his whole mob and it's great!
  2. On several occasions I've found myself falling through the floor in or in front of the PI police station. It's happened to several different characters so there doesn't appear to be any sort of connection to the use of a specific power or specific AT.
  3. If we want to talk about 'endgame balance' then I think MMs need the most love. Even the squishiest AT can get a self-rez if they take the right Epic. Boom...they hit a button and they're back. When a MM does this he's down 80% of his power because he needs to resummon 3 sets of pets, retrain them, AND reactivate all of the buffs. Somewhere around summoning the 2nd set of pets he's dead. I have no problem with the survivability of an Incarnate-level MM in your typical +4/x8 PI team. However, in most Incarnate-level content the pets aren't on the table long enough to say so. During ITrials and other post-50 content I strongly feel that MMs, and in particular their pets, need some luv and attention.
  4. Not sure if it's turned off right now but the Incarnate slots are not unlocked. Also, is there an easier way to get Enhancements that buying the recipes and crafting them? I don't see any other method.
  5. This is totally a QoL suggestion and therefore should be addressed sometime after new costume pieces, if at all, but I wanted to put it out there just to see if it's easy or hard to implement. I'd like a box to check or leave unchecked during Character Creation (most likely in the section where you add your Background) the informs the game that 'Yes, I am an experienced player. Please don't bombard me with new notifications every time something happens like finding my first piece of Salvage.' We get inundated with notifications and information a lot, during the early phases of play in particular, and as an experienced player I don't need the info. The default for this would be unchecked so new players will have the benefits of the information as they begin play. How difficult would this be to implement?
  6. I'd rather see them spend their time doing virtually anything else except maybe adding more horns to Costumes (I think we have horns covered for a while). On Live Super Jump was the most popular movement power followed by Flight. Should SJ be nerfed then? I usually don't take Hasten. I don't insist others take Hasten. Why would you insist that there's a problem with it just because YOU don't like it? I HATE the animations on several powers but I'm not going to cry to the Devs about changing it for me.
  7. If I have room for it in the build, I take it and add one additional slot and use it to mule Healing IOs. It's great as the 100% heal on the minion that just dropped to 10% health but as others have said simply taking Heal Other will be consistently more useful IMHO.
  8. I never used to take the Fighting Pool on my MMs. I ALWAYS take it now, mostly because, as has been noted before several of the MM offensive powers can be skipped and Tough is just TOO useful. It's amazing how much more survivable my MMs are with 4-slotted Tough. I've tried the Provoke route and I find it to be Meh at best. The power can use a couple of IOs not found on many other MM sets (Fear mainly) but I've found that simply taking an 80' ranged offensive power works just as well, if not better. As with all things in this game, YMMV.
  9. My very first hero on Live was a Blaster and because I played at odd times I wound up trying to solo. I had all of the Debt Badges before he was lvl 20. Note that this was back when Stamina wasn't inherent and your Movement Powers kicked in at lvl 14. Most of my old Blasters will be remade as Sentinels now because in most cases I prefer playing Iron Man to playing Cyclops in a game. My various Sents can team or solo, have played stand-in Tanks, have held the ramps in the MSR and my Beam/Bio is the first new character I made that could solo +4/x8 content solo. Yes, if you're okay spending hundreds of millions of Inf on a build you can do as well or better on a Blaster but I'm cheap and not fond of 'playing' the Market. If I wanted a financial sim I'd go and play one. I'm here to create or recreate a hero or villain and fight enemies...not stand around staring at the Market interface. Others enjoy it and are good at it so more power to them. I play Sents because when I'm playing the character I want to feel mighty. Getting Stunned (or perma-Stunned...) is a buzz-kill for me.
  10. I go away for a few weeks and look what happens. People get creative. That's what we do here...create. I've enjoyed reading everything posted so far and look forward to more.
  11. I play just about every AT and most combinations at one point or another. The one power I find myself skipping regularly is Sleep. I don't solo much and I'm not seeing a big benefit for teams since everyone seems to drop a nice big AoE right after I put the spawn to sleep. Is it worth taking for a mostly-team player and if so, how should I be using it to get the most bang for my buck?
  12. I have NO idea what animation costs these days, what with all of the computer advances, but if it isn't too expensive I could see this working. Good anime makes good money and in recent years there have been several very successful animated t.v. series. We have at least a quarter of a million fans that would pay to see it or even own it if it went straight to DVD. The sad part is the licensing. NCSoft still holds primary rights and the SCORE team is jumping through some very small hoops to keep the servers out of legal trouble. I sincerely doubt that they'd allow a movie unless they got a BIG chunk of the profits. Considering the current mood (more people at home with the virus etc) a t.v. series, if it were well-done, could be very successful IMHO.
  13. And this is why I love the Forums. Thanks!
  14. WOW! I've seen players chatting about their Beast MMs and how happy they were (paired with Nature) that they didn't have to heal much. Perhaps this was the reason. Well I'm off to the CC! Thanks for all the help. Btw Redlynne, it's good to see you again. As I recall we had some very spirited chats back on Live. It's nice to see someone I recognize!
  15. Any particular reason for this pairing? Or powers I should focus on with the Secondary?
  16. I have to confess, I'm an unrepentant Altaholic and I LOVE MMs. However, I haven't had much chance to play with the 'new' Secondaries that were ported over like Emp, Storm and such. I enjoy soloing on my MMs as much as team play but I haven't done my homework on my next few builds and I was hoping for some feedback on what worked, what was meh and what didn't work for my next few projects: 1) Beast/Emp: I haven't found a theme for this yet but I'm thinking Druid. I know that Nature and Pain are great sets but I've only run Emp on a Defender. Is this boring? Ineffective? Fort-heavy? 2) Necro/Sonic: A Siren theme with Mako's Epic for lulz. I'm thinking the melee-centric pets plus Disruption Field should be a good match, yes? No Heals for the pets but Heal Other always an option. 3) Necro/Storm: A relatively melee-centric set with Hurricane etc keeping the enemies busy. I hear people raving about /Storm for MMs but I don't know if Necro is a good pairing for this. 4) Anything/Poison: I have a Merc/Poison right now but he seems to be languishing in the 30s somewhere. The debuffs are good but solo seems to be very rough. Team-only build maybe? 5) Anything/Kinetics: I haven't got a lot of experience with /Kin anything so I'm wondering what would mesh well with this. Maybe Thugs for the accelerated Gang War madness? Thanks for the help in advance.
  17. And this is why I read Forums. I have a Demon/Pain build in the 30s somewhere and this will definitely get done in my next respec!
  18. And THIS is why I read Forums. Thugs/Anything with +Def just became my next build. Thanks everyone!
  19. Truth be told, I hate taking my MMs into Incarnate content for most of the reasons you cited. Even before that, if I was in a team with post-50s they were melting the mobs as I was ordering my boys into battle. I have resigned myself to keeping my Lich and Knights, forgetting about the Zombies and fighting as a form of Dark Defender, helping the team and allowing my minions to follow me on Defensive so I'm playing the role of Tank for them, sharing the damage. Some MM Secondaries are probably more useful (like anything with shields in it) but /Dark is rough on Incarnates IMHO. Good luck.
  20. My Demon MM uses Pain Dom and I have to say that I think I heal them LESS than I thought, mainly because they have a Resist fire shield and Heals they cast on each other. The +Regen toggle is HUGE for keeping them topped up between fights too. All that being said, the shields from Thermal will stack with their inherent shields and it has Heals so you really can't go wrong either way. Good luck
  21. You might want to consider the Sudden Acceleration KB to KD procs in the Exp Blast and Energy Torrent depending on how much you enjoy the KB. You might want to think about putting one in each of the robot Summons as well, mainly because the Assbot lays down a Burn patch and the KB from the bots will knock the bad guys out of it. I did this with my Time/Bot MM and it was a game-changer. Good luck.
  22. I'd like to ask a question: How many players actually DO each of the various methods of earning Inf other than simply playing the game, as a percentage? I'm willing to bet that the SCORE team can figure this out with the tools at their disposal and I for one would like to know because I think many of the people commenting here are making broad sweeping assumptions to support their points of view. IIRC the original Devs on the Live game once commented that only about 10% of the player base read the Forums. Therefore, posting announcements there was kind of a waste of time so they'd announce them in-game through the various Chat channels. I also seem to recall that only about 20% of the players accessed the Market for anything other than straight buying and selling. They didn't want to deal with Crafting so they Marketed or Vendored everything and then bought the IOs they wanted. So unless a Market change had a long-term affect on prices, it would only affect 20% of the player base. The other 80% simply didn't care. I'm reading about people converting and flipping and having billions of Inf and having 'hundreds of Winter IOs' and on and on and on and people are worried about Inf farming exploits? The idea that there are players with BILLIONS of Inf and HUNDREDS of Winter IOs, each of which is worth millions, doesn't strike anyone as being an issue? I take my 50 (vet 8 or so) into an Inf farm, play for an hour and get 20 million Inf. Maybe I get a purple, maybe not. Maybe I get a few recipes I build and store and maybe I don't. I sell the junk I don't want and maybe make 10 million more Inf. I don't convert anything, I sell the converters for Inf. Unlike our economy in the real world, this is a fake economy in a make-believe world. We can manipulate it however we want. The question is WHAT is the goal? What EXACTLY do we want? If we wanted it to be completely fair then everything would be free for everyone. If we wanted it to be controlled then everyone would be capped at 2 billion Inf and prohibit sending it to ourselves via email. Fight inflation? Inflation is caused when a few have lots of money (or Inf) and most have much less, right? Like in the days on Live when a Common Salvage could cost 100k or more? Seeding the Market seems to have solved that problem. IIRC regular subscribers to the game used to get little perks every month like a Respec or something. If something is becoming too scarce on the Market either seed it again or give it away in small amounts every month. If the SCORE teams wants to stop an Inf exploit simply capping the Inf seems to fix the problem. This is a superhero MMO, not an economic sim. IMHO players who try to use it as an economic sim should be the ones who are disappointed, not the people who simply play the game.
  23. Since the recent changes to pet AI I've mound that most of the pets don't do this nearly as much as they used to. Except this fool. The issue is that his Breath Fire cone attack has a range of about 40' so in order to use it he HAS to get closer. If his chosen target runs back into a spawn, he'll chase them right through other mobs. I'd settle for him having a small ranged AoE instead of the Breathe Fire cone. Then he wouldn't need to run into melee.
  24. As an alternative, I would like to see a T2 or T3 power for each set that retains KB and even has bonus KB. Better yet, ALL KB is converted to KD and you can get an IO that switches it back. It's the same as we have now just in reverse. I don't see why KB should be the default.
  25. What I would like to see is all of the 'junk sets removed from the game entirely or have them upgraded so they're actually worth having. How about an alternate to LotG with +Rech for Resistance sets? How about a couple of sets that are 7% or 6.5% instead of 7.5%? That way the players who don't want to farm for Inf don't have to drop 5-7 million on the LotG? We have -KB on Defense AND Resist sets so we have lots of alternatives there, why not have alternatives for the others? I'd settle for a Healing buff smaller than Numina's or Miracles because I'm an altaholic. If I can outfit ALL my characters with less expensive IOs then I'm good with that. As it is now, you're looking at hundreds of millions for ONE character. Why are there so many junk sets? I understand that some rarer sets are better and that's how it SHOULD be but why not have an alternative to Crushing Impact that gives a 4% +Recharge for s 5-piece set? I dislike the idea that there are a dozen or so pieces that everyone wants and the rest are vendor trash. I think that the game would run better and the players would be better off with less junk.
