  1. Masterminds United on Everlasting because more pets in one place is better!
  2. I have one character in the SG and have participated in many of their MSRs. Good people.
  3. We have a number of weapons and temp powers in the game like grenades, web grenades, ball bats etc. However, none of these have any kind of options with regards to choices (so all the bats look the same etc). I like the idea of thematic and homage characters and I wonder if we couldn't find a way to give characters more options with the temp powers or 'signature' weapons (something that's not a temp power but not as good as a regular power from a normal set). Perhaps even just allowing graphics choices so the 'gun' could be a 'handgun' instead? Most of these would have to be 'out-of-set' types of weapons (ranged weapons for melee characters, melee weapons for ranged characters etc). I can see limiting these to 1-2 per character of even as a Power Pool because that would mean that taking a power for Theme means you're NOT picking something else and the game is all about trade-offs and choices. I understand that this would not be a high-priority suggestion even if it were accepted but I also know that there have been other suggestions for 'utility belt' pools and other things so I thought I'd toss it out there.
  4. Um...why? Don't say something SHOULD happen without supporting evidence. Do many people take Hasten? Sure they do. The numbers provided by the OP show that MANY people take Hasten. Does that mean it's too good? Maybe. Does that mean it MUST be changed? Not necessarily. How much work are we talking about here? (Let's forget the MASSIVE blowback from enraged players) I can't get my head around the idea of removing Hasten, putting in some arbitrary buff to Recharge and THEN worry about rebalancing EVERYTHING. Dozens of sets...hundreds of powers to work with. I'd rather grant a small universal Recharge buff and nerf Hasten to the point that they balance with what we have now but I still see MANY other things that are more important than this.
  5. I had only a little bit of time on Live with the new Staff set. I liked the new sets so I worked on leveling the character right up until I got the PBAoE power Eye of the Storm. The animation is beyond ridiculous. I have built characters on Pines that have skipped the power but it's the only PBAoE choice in the set. The 'breakdance-like' portion of the animation (the last half to 1/3 of the animation time) is just plain dumb. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to change this please?
  6. I will sometimes skip traditional movement powers on my Natural Origin heroes. Since I don't want to be the guy everyone is waiting on to reach the mission (and I really like the jump animations), I will take Ninja Running as an alternative. I don't care if it's an Homage or what but the Naruto-style running pose is beyond stupid. We have several Fly poses so why not offer a choice when it comes to Ninja Running?
  7. Go ahead....give a practical reason NOT to do this. I'll wait. This has been needed for so long that it should likely be at the top of the 'to-do' list.
  8. I have actually respecced out of Hasten so I could set another power to auto. With some of the defensive sets having click-powers for their Status protection (you kinds have to have these set to auto) I'd be okay with some variation of this that ONLY worked for self-buffs.
  9. When Crafting launched I argued that having some sets that literally sucked compared to others was dumb and unnecessary. The most common response that I got was 'There will always be some sets that are not as good.' Um...why? IMHO there is ZERO reason why you can't have 4 and 5 piece sets, all of which are good but just make them good at different things. 1) Melee set that improves Recharge, Defense and Damage with some kind of proc. 2) Melee set that improves Recharge, RESISTANCE and Damage with a different kind of proc. Etc etc Now ALL of the sets are more or less equally desirable depending on whether you have a Defense or Resistance (and go into Regen?) character. However, now we're way past this point IMHO. I think if we simply enable the smaller (4 piece) sets to go to lvl 40 and the larger sets to go to 50 I'd be happy with it. Should they likely be rebalanced so that we can please stop having 4 sets that are great and 12 that are junk? Sure but as the OP said it doesn't help to be too greedy with requests.
  10. There were whole threads and guides based on arcane combinations of keybinds that would enable you to select a specific Pet and give it specific commands JUST to get around this. Yeah...this shouldn't be necessary. I don't code but you'd have to work long and hard to convince me that this isn't fixable with the right combination of changing the power ranges, recharge times etc. I'm not looking for MMs and their pets to be OP I'd just like them to work as intended.
  11. I used Assault Rifle but that was because I had a good theme for the character in mind. I understand the problem with 'My brain has trouble coming up with something to match that set that I like the theme AND the mechanics.'
  12. And watch the internet burn down because over 100k players (many with their 'perfect' build) would pretty much flee to one of those other servers where A) they haven't done this and B) They never would because they saw Homecoming do this. Do NOT forget that CoH isn't a monopoly any more. There are many servers out there and more can be created almost overnight. You want the population on Homecoming to leave? Go ahead and treat them like 'those people who would never leave'.
  13. As much as I'd love more Free Recharge, I'm going to agree with others that have said that it should be a conscious pick. Mainly because people that already have Perma-Hasten could skip it if they choose and those that want to skip Hasten would pick the alternative instead. How about an auto-power that scales (loved that idea when I saw it) as well as having Sprint-like slots to put in Running, Jumping and Flight Enhancers? The Recharge part would be unenhancable and have one slot for the Movement Enhancers. Stretch it out so it starts at 1% at lvl 4 (or whenever Pool Powers unlock now) and tops out at 5% at level 50.
  14. Now that the minimum team limits for the TFs and SFs have been removed, the devs are obviously leaning more towards the idea that while teams are an important part of the game, they're no longer required. You can find dozens of Youtube videos of 'squishy' ATs like Blasters, Defenders and Controllers/Doms soloing even EBs. Clearly a major portion of this is due to Crafting but that's part of the point. IMHO any buff (other than a Rez) that ONLY works on others should be reworked. The Empath/team model was fine when the game started but it began to evolve with Inventions and even more so with Incarnate levels. It's obsolete and should be re-examined to see if it couldn't be brought up to date somehow. What about altering them so they're more like the Epic Powers that self-buff? Most of those last about 90 seconds or so with a Recharge of 3 minutes. So you CAN make them Permanent but you have to slot for it. Change the buffs like CM and the shields from their current 'last 3-4 minutes, recharge in 10 seconds, others only' to 'lasts 4 minutes, recharge 4 minutes, has reduced effect on self.'
  15. Remember that the 'Live' iteration of the game had several hundred thousand players for the first couple of years before there WAS a Market. They had nothing to spend their Inf on (which is why you could buy Prestige with it) for all that time. After they hit 50 and had all their Enhancements, that was it. Along comes Crafting and the Market and now players with many BILLIONS of Inf want their toons slotted out NOW. They're the ones that paid 100k for an Alc Silver and 1 billion or more for LotG and such. I for one am glad that our Market was seeded. The players that don't use it can sell their stuff so they're happy. The people who buy the stuff are also happy. Players trying to dabble in the Market don't have to spend millions so they're happy.
  16. I'm not sure if you've read everything correctly but the OP suggested that Rest be made an automatic setting in some fashion. I haven't seen anyone suggest REMOVING Rest from the game or even from the power tray.
  17. Sadly, I will be unable to attend due to prior commitments. However I look forward to seeing feedback. Based on the suggestions for the Instanced version of the MSR, once the bugs are worked out (there are always bugs...) then it should make the RWZ much more playable
  18. After playing a couple of Mothership Raids earlier this week I would like to amend my earlier request to include content at the 35+ level. Please allow me to explain why: My Necro/Dark MM is currently at lvl 37 with lvl 40 Common IOs slotted. He's built more to support his pets than to fight, having only one direct attack himself. I had not taken an MM into an MSR since we came back so I was not sure what to expect. In short, it was a disaster for me and all of the other pre-50 MMs in the League. When you're in a League the amount of xp that you gain is based on how many targets you actually damage AS A TEAM. So even if you're doing great, if the rest of the team is not then the xp for the whole team suffers. We had three of them in our team and our xp sucked. I was whispering to the others to ask how they were doing and the result was pretty much the same all around: T1 pets died within a minute of summoning, T2s lasted longer and the T3 was usually up for most if not all of the fight. So we were down more than half of our firepower due to no fault of our own. We were't scraping the rim trying to pull targets in...we were sitting in the middle of a bowl filled with green numbers and the pets STILL died. There is no 'Difficulty' setting for the MSR that I know of. It's not a matter of how good or bad our builds are. MM pets are too fragile...period.
  19. I would have said 60 or 75 because you still can't form a whole second league but if people wanted to form an overflow then they could. I wanted to point out that simply raising the cap would solve one other problem: Griefing. Last night I was attempting to enter the RWZ and the zone was full. The league leader politely asked people not in the raid to move to the other RWZ which had alreay spawned. Not only did they not move they apparently delighted in the trouble they were causing. So myself and one other were locked out of the raid. Yeah...THAT was fun...not. Simply raising the limit in the RWZ to 60 (enough for a full league, an overflow of 8 and 4 others not involved) would solve the problem with fewer headaches. I LOVE our dev team and all of their hard work. I'd kinda like to spare them unnecessary coding if possible.
  20. Fair question. I usually run around in the DFB (which I believe has a locked Diff level) until about lvl 12 when I can get my second pet. Then I run at +1/1 or 2 depending (some pet sets seems to be better at clearing mobs). If I'm on a team I'll stick with whatever the team leader is using. At lvl 27 I slot lvl 30 IOs and go +2/2-4 depending (bots seems to have more AoE which is better with large mobs of clunkies vs smaller mobs of Lts and bosses). I usually leave it at +2/whatever until I hit 47 and begin slotting lvl 50 stuff. By then +3-+4 depending on the enemy (+4 Arachnos = BLIND! and +4 Malta = A lot of Sappers and Gunslingers it seems). All of this is pretty moot, though. Once you get into Incarnate-level content the life expectancy of your T1 pets is measured in seconds. I don't know if this is due to the enemies at that level throwing more AoEs, because of the types of damage thrown or merely the amount. The why doesn't really interest me much. I'd simply like to be able to have ALL of my pets up at least half the time unless I'm doing something insanely stupid play-wise (because there is no fix for stupid). I would be happy if everything remained exactly as it is until you slot your Alpha at which point the pets received some sort of 'insta-death' protection. They could still be killed by being double-tapped by an enemy (which is as it should be). The game is about fun. I don't see anyone complaining that MMs are OP and I DO hear complaints that MM pets die too fast, especially at the higher end of the game. All this being said, I'd have more fun if I didn't have to resummon my T1 pets every minute or, worse, pretend they're not their because they won't live long enough to bother. I want my MMs to be fun...that's all.
  21. Except that some characters (particularly those with Def sets) use Hover to mule Def IOs.
  22. You can differ all you want but this is a completely subjective viewpoint. Unless you can provide hard numbers to back this up, it's your opinion vs everyone else's opinion. I, for one, don't use Rest enough to warrant the Devs taking their time to change it. I can think of about 200 things that should be addressed first before even considering changing Rest.
  23. And if I want Recall I have to take Teleport. If I want Hover I have to take Flight. Now in order to get the SAME travel safety as every other travel power, plus the bells and whistles everyone else can have, I need THREE pool choices. Why not make the Sorcery Pool free for everyone? That solves the problem for me. We never had it Live anyhow so simply HAVING it is a bit of a blessing anyhow.
  24. Oh, yes they did. MM Pets going stupid has been an issue since I've played MMs and I joined right around I9. However, there is an entirely different thread concerned with MM Pet controls and commands so... The idea of greater AoE Resistance seems to be simple yet effective. I would suggest that this be tied to the Supremacy range to deter MMs from sending their minions through artillery strikes to draw aggro. As I said, I simply want my Pets, the heart and soul of the AT, to be viable at the high end of play and currently they're not. Every other AT can use their T1 power right into Incarnate-level missions but the T1 MM Pet is a waste of End more likely than not. Considering that the MM secondary is Support, I can't do my job very well if I'm spending half the mission and half my End resummoning pets. I don't want them to be invulnerable...I just want them to be up for half the mission or more during high-end play.
  25. I DO take Hover on my characters with Teleport. Which means that, unlike EVERY OTHER TRAVEL POWER, I have to dip into TWO Pool Powers in order to travel safely. Fliers don't need to do that, S-Jumpers don't need to do that and Speedsters actually get a Stealth component in their power just so they CAN move safely. As for 46 HP being inconsequential, it is...right up until you aggro a bunch of enemies 6 levels above you, you get Mezzed and then crushed. I don't think it's asking for too much to have ALL of the Travel powers working with the same degree of safety. Teleport has enough inherent issues without adding an element of danger to it IMHO. CoH has always been about doing your character the way YOU wanted it. I want Teleport to be as safe and effective as the rest of the Travel Powers. Is that so bad?
