Bopper has stated elsewhere we should see open beta testing this month. Not a promise though, might slip a bit. But we are getting close. Devs are allowed to drop hints all they like. Anybody else... GM staff has a talk with them

Defender confirmed to not take to hit debuff sets. (and likely Corruptor) Dark Watcher's despair tested. Both in game and City of Data say it should. Summon has no power of this type, text and set indicator should be changed. Immobilize and Stun sets would be appropriate. (it does not currently take these) https://gyazo.com/24724ac5736c77cfcd48ea4d6eb36b1a

From the guide I have posted on the Homecoming Discord in #new-players We need more awareness for new players on how to get early money. Just doing the first storyline arc from a Contact will get lots of Reward Merits. (For Prime Universe/"Freedom", Hero side, this would be Matthew Habashy) Go inside City Hall Go to the Merit vendor Buy Enhancement Converters using the reward merits. (under Special salvage) Open the Auction House with /ah Open your Salvage tab on your power tray Drag them to the AH window Sell them for 1 inf (yes, seriously) You will usually make: 1 Reward Merit = 3 Enhancement Converters that sell for at least 60,000 inf each. Also, check price possibilities for Enhancement Boosters.

Welcome back! I started here as a player on day one, I still remember what it felt like to hear that zone music and stand under the Atlas status again after being gone for so long.

Very post. We are on Issue 27, Page 3. Issue 27 Page 4 will be released soon.

Jimmy is still part of the team, but very busy with real life. Glad to see the love, but please don't ping admins needlessly.

Vayek reposted the Mids tutorial, but it's unedited. Might help also.

https://midsreborn.com/ Mids Reborn is the continually updated character builder for Homecoming. It's totally current, other than a very few enhancement effects, and I think quick snipe isn't correct for to-hit values. (If you have a snipe, try and take Leadership: tactics and Kismet +acc in a def power if you have no other continual +to hit power)

Pool powers have always been meant to be weaker powersets to round out what you can't do with primary or secondary, and add style and flavor to the character. The as I like to call them, the "origin flavor" pools are a bit stronger than normal pool powers; and you can only have one per build: Sorcery (magic), Force of Will(mutation/psi), Experimentation(science). Of those, Force of Will is probably my least favorite. Sorc and Experimentation have several winners in the set. Not always useful, but when they are they can be important and defining parts of a character build.

Guide for dealing with RP harassment while hosting events in SG bases: If someone is greatly affecting your event and you want them to leave: Ask them clearly to stop the behavior or leave first, as above. Submit a support ticket if they persist. In case GM staff is not immediately available, and the situation is bad; you can do what event staff refer to as the nuclear option: Have all members of the SG base and coalition members form teams with them as the lead. Invite wanted and welcome guests to those teams. Change the base code. This will eject all players not on a SG/coalition lead team. Change the base code back as you wish so as not to miss new people joining your event.

In order to help us help you, here are some guidelines on how to deal with harassment and other unwanted interactions. If you are having trouble with harassment or intentional RP disruptors: Please remember to go OOC in a tell and break character immediately. If you want the situation ended, there is no point to you staying in character with this person. Strictly avoiding OOC is not a sign of good roleplay. Anything else can be misunderstood. OOC = Out of character. Usually indicated by (( )) commonly on Homecoming. Politely and specifically ask them to stop the behavior, or ask them to not interact with you in a tell. Local chat is likely to be missed in busy areas. Please take a UI screenshot* showing both you politely asking for the behavior to stop, and any response if possible. If it continues, then create a support ticket. If you first submit a support ticket in game with menu, support, you can later amend it with a forum support ticket so you can attach more evidence and info. If you do not take or do not have a screenshot, please report it anyway. We take harassment seriously. Thank you and have fun RPing! It's always great to see creative people getting into character! * https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Screenshots#The_User_Interface From the CoC: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/code-of-conduct/#conduct-guidelines

Back to this. Please try either totally disabling it, or whitelisting the *entire* directory for the game.
-
We will have some of our tech folks look at your launcher log. I'll get back to you on this, thanks for being patient.

Listing of Devs/GMs with area of specialty.
GM Kal replied to The_Warpact's topic in General Discussion
Who made this list, GM Impervium? I just wanted to thank the *entire* Homecoming GM team that didn't get mentioned. GM Tempest GM Sparky GM Crumpet GM Joji GM GoodNyght GM Helferlein GM Impervium GM Mimiru GM Quasar GM Willow GM Kiwi GM Arael GM Flints GM Navigator GM Aegis They are all highly trained and specially selected great folks that operate under an exacting code of conduct, and I am very glad to work with all of them! GM Bot is our remote control bot that can do commands and send announcements, not an actual person, and is not automated in any way (other than cute replies when you do a /tell!) GM Solace GM Manga / Manga GM Globetrotter Are not currently Homecoming GMs, but are valued consultants. And every Mac user has Manga to thank for being able to play CoH. Michiyo - Consultant, and runs the Homecoming Wiki and FBSA websites Cipher pays the bills and deals with the financials. Most all of the Homecoming staff groups work on a consensus basis for any important decision. -
Just a reminder: Please be polite to each other. We are talking about video games, it is supposed to be fun. Thank you!

"IDP Generic" isn't really a thing. It's more of a "we are concerned about this" generic warning. Considering Tequila downloads and installs another programs, yes anti-virus programs usually freak out about that kind of thing. https://thetechietrickle.com/everything-about-idp-generic/ Tequila itself is fine, but outdated. Just always be absolutely sure to only use manifests from sources you trust. But yes the new launcher is much better.
-
Now fixed. Our dev team is amazing.
-
It's fixed as soon as we are back online!
-
Yes this is very broken as of the page 3 update. Please avoid playing it for now, dev team is aware and has a solution in mind.

Yep, I am a huge fan of recoloring powers and noting in your bio that it is something else if you wish. A good number of my characters do that. It's much too limiting to force yourself into what the game thinks the power should be. But I don't begrudge the game for having power lore. Just like any lore in game, it should be used as a *possible* creative shared reference. Use it if you wish. Not something that limits creativity.
-
There are quite a few references, and with multiple dimensions existing, there is more than enough room for approaching it in RP any way you want to. I usually hit the wiki first when researching a RP lore concept. The PTS in Cap Au Diable is likely the reason for the name, a long lost reference to what is under the island long before Aeon did... things... https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Power_Transfer_System Infernal is from an entire dimension where demons are the normal population: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Infernal While not "demon" in the normal sense, the default explanation for Dark powers is Negative energy from the Netherworld dimension. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Multiverse

Yep. The main thing that breaks the system down, and that s also very discouraging to me - is people not bothering to report. Sometimes because they got the idea in their head that nothing happens, or that staff does not pay attention to support tickets. Very wrong. We do take them very seriously and review every one. We may use a stock reply due to volume or the fact that we can't give out details due to policy; but every ticket is personally looked at, particularly harassment reports. Usually by multiple GMs. The system works well if people continue to report incidents. If there is only one report, and someone says "Eh Homecoming didn't do anything (that I personally saw), I'm not going to bother!" the system breaks down right then at a warning or temp ban, and the harasser keeps on going, likely targeting other people too.
-
People doing this will be dealt with. And likely, already have. As said above, we do not discuss individual incidents, or what was done. But typically depending on severity we issue a warning, track it, then can issue bans that lead to a permanent ban from the game. Sometimes a few steps are jumped. But we do sometimes get cases where a harasser gets a warning or even a several day ban; then a few days later people may see them in game and say "Look, Homecoming did nothing!" The main thing to remember is: Continue to report to escalate consequences if you see repeated behavior or harassment. Guide to dealing with harassment in Roleplay If you are having trouble with harassment or intentional RP disruptors: Please remember to go OOC in a tell and break character immediately. If you want the situation ended, there is no point to you staying in character with this person. Please take a UI screenshot* if possible showing both you politely asking for the behavior to stop, and any response. Then attach it to the forum support ticket. If you cannot, Menu, Support in game is fine also. We do take it seriously. Thank you and have fun RPing! GM Kal replied to GM Kaiju's topic in Events & Contests
I didn't screw up the screenshots! But seriously, thanks everybody for coming out, and congrats to the winners!
