Your 3 basic choices are tanker, controller, and defender. For tanker you want WP. By 20 it has no END problems, mezz protection, and since it focuses on healing instead of resistance or defense it works against any enemy types - no holes. For controller you want dark, electric, ice, or plant. All have good aoe controls that can be up almost every fight at low levels. For secondary you want rad, dark, or kinetics if you are level 20 (that's when they get speed boost). For defender you want rad, dark, or kinetics. For a secondary you want sonic to take on AVs or water for aoe damage.

[Heroic][25-30] Save the Diver, Save the World - Arc ID: 855
DougGraves replied to Ankylosaur's topic in Mission Architect
I basically agree with your OP. I play blueside so it is nice to face redside enemy groups and custom groups. Nice story. The last map was a pain but did fit very well. I like the use of the interesting maps. You build arcs the way I like - variety of maps and enemies. Named enemies, fights, enemy dialog - a lot of things going on in the mission to make it come alive. My only real complaint is that every map was so dark. A little more variety in light level would have been nice. -

Endgame & PvP. Two things I care nothing about. I'm excited about making a character with two peg legs.

	What's a "main"?

post snap I just do teaming really, tanker or controller since they add so much to teams. I have not gotten back into soloing. Although doing AE arcs may get me back into that - the good ones are very good.

When a signature arc came out, I ran around and could not find the contact I was supposed to meet in the mission. Contacted a GM. The contact was a body on the floor. They had a yellow mark indicating them, I just never thought it could be a body on the floor.

I have tried a male and a female, hero and villain. The gloves and boots look good. In both cases I had a ton of lag and the game was not playable - I am assuming that is not related to this feature though. The pirate peg leg is great, I combined it with the corsair glove with no hook to make a scarecrow with stick arms and legs. This is a great feature and I love the options it gives me. Thanks Naomi.

				Weekly Discussion 43: Badges/Badge Hunting
DougGraves replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
I used to go for badges. But since the high level game is now a joke, I don't play characters above level 34 and so I don't bother badging. I just delete and start over. The badges I liked best are exploration badges. Ones that make you go places on the map you might not otherwise go. -

				[Heroic] [41-54] Rularularian - Arc ID: 848
DougGraves replied to Ankylosaur's topic in Mission Architect
So the waypoint appears in your normal view but not on the map. That's why I did not notice it. The final mission was great. I've never seen that map before. And the details and named villains were great. -

				[Heroic] [41-54] Rularularian - Arc ID: 848
DougGraves replied to Ankylosaur's topic in Mission Architect
I left the character in the arc, so I can retry the mission. I did connect with Flynn but I don't recall seeing a waypoint. I did not stay connected to Flynn though, I went exploring on my own. So I'll retry it. -

I got a waypoint for Hero 1's memorial in City Hall, but no waypoint for the cave -

Focused Feedback: Costume Editor Updates (Build 6)
DougGraves replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I made a character and was unable to enter the game. It said I had invalid costume parts. Male blaster, archery. Wearing a sleeveless robe with tattered sleeves. Chest and legs are monster fur. Left glove is tied, right glove is bare skin. Right leg is the Cosmic Corsair Right Peg Leg, left leg is the Cosmic Corsair Left Peg Leg. - when I changed the left leg to Cosmic Corsair Normal it would let me enter the game. I have it saved to a file but don't know what to do with the file. Satyr Archer.costume -

				[Heroic] [41-54] Rularularian - Arc ID: 848
DougGraves replied to Ankylosaur's topic in Mission Architect
The first missions are great. I am not familiar with the shadow shard but it told a good story with background. And I love missions crammed with details so it doesn't feel like a grind but like each bit is important. but then I got to the mission where I am supposed to find a hidden cave on a large map. I spent 5 minutes looking for Julia but did not find her. So I had to quit. -

Which class has the easiest time training at a low lvl?
DougGraves replied to hyacathinose's topic in General Discussion
The easiest character at low levels is a willpower/claws tanker. Willpower gets good early and is only toggle and auto powers. In particular, it relies on healing so it is not weak to vahz or other exotic damage foes. Claws has fast recharge and just attacks - not even build up. If you want to defeat foes faster play a claws/willpower brute. But it will be a bit tougher. -
I would be played by Matthew Broderick. The current Matthew Broderick.

Newbie Questions Compiled into one neat post
DougGraves replied to hyacathinose's topic in General Discussion
1. Maybe in theory. The enemies have a much longer range than you start with. You may be able to get a longer range than they do, but it would be hard. What is good to know is that different enemies have different ranged/defense strengths. Many groups are weaker at range and want to close to melee. Council does more damage at range, so you want to get in melee with them. 2. Pulling is a common tactic. You stand at the edge of your range, target a foe on the edge of the enemies, and try to pull them. There are also powers that blind the enemy so they cannot see as far and blind does not itself trigger them to attack you. This makes it easier to pull without getting nearby enemies to attack you. -
a synonym for "sarcastic" is "snarky" And I don't like political names, but I just use the block user function and then I don't see them in chat.

Yes, I haven't tried them but they are top rated stories as well. I'm playing through the top arcs and they are really good - these are not all by the same author Who Dares Wins, Arc 239 Fantastic Arc. Great story – you have to read the clues. A little odd because you are playing someone else and reading their story – but it works. The Most Important Thing, Arc 33 Good arc. Story is good but depressing. Lots of clues to read – very involved missions. Astoria in D Minor, Arc 60 Interesting but disturbing. If you like dark and disturbing it is for you.

What are good designs for a character made of water?
DougGraves replied to DougGraves's topic in Art & Multimedia
what I'm getting from this is that the skins don't look like water by themself, but the right aura gives it a water feel. And the texture gives it more of a wave or motion feel.
