  1. It seems like it has some uses for a last resort treatment for severe depression. ECT does have a large amount of stigma attached to it because of its past uses though.
  2. I believe Faraday Cage does provide -Recovery resistance by the looks of it - not sure how much it provides though.
  3. Would be happy to move it here, @Burnt Toast - might be a nice place to discuss the pros and cons of different approaches to this. And that's definitely where my mind went when this powerset was brought up.
  4. There was an Electric support powerset proposal on the forums called Bioelectrics. Maybe that could work?
  5. That's fair - the way I'm proposing essentially adds one pool ('origins'), while yours seems to propose two ('extra' and 'movement'). Different approach to thinking about the same problem.
  6. Agreed - there are powers that can heal, but there isn't a dedicated "healer" role in CoX.
  7. I mentioned making the Origin power pools into their own separate pool group, like Patron/Ancillary a few posts back. Since they're already mutually exclusive, it'd essentially be adding another pool, but for the origins - easiest way to add a new travel power without sacrificing a pool for flavour, personally.
  8. I also prefer having the untouchable/only affecting self cage. Wouldn't mind having a way to cancel the effect early though, whether that be through it becoming a toggle effect, or say another power that can deactivate it when targeting a caged enemy.
  9. Gave this a shot with the new beta update, but there still doesn't appear to be any luck there - most power customisation files aren't shown.
  10. I made a proposal along those lines in the suggestions forums actually - making the Origin power pools their own separate thing, like the Ancillary/Patron power pools. They're already mutually exclusive, so fitting them in that way would make sense; nice easy way of getting a travel power without sacrificing a pool. Definitely like these additions here, looking forward to testing them out.
  11. Should be "charitable".
  12. Considering that Personal Force Field works in the same way, I can certainly see this reasoning making sense. That being said, I think removing or shortening the NoPhase period of similar status effects would be nicer - not being able to activate these kinds of powers for two whole minutes sounds kind of excessive.
  13. I'm not entirely sure that IOs are the cause of this observation. While it certainly contributes, I kind of notice the whole 'shift' at the mid to mid-high levels - endgame builds aren't going to be complete until 50, and generally lose a good deal of their potency when exemplared down. There's probably an interconnected amount of factors at play that's causing this (of which IOs may be a facet)...but I'm not really sure what.
  14. I definitely feel like the game goes a bit too fast in larger groups sometimes, which does make the more supportive powers in the game seem a bit unnecessary. I'm not confident in my ability to pinpoint the reasons why that's the case though. But it's most definitely felt - there's a shift in gameplay style from what feels like a tabletop game brought into MMORPG form, into damage-wrecking-ball-explosion-train-ride. Not to say one's necessarily better than the other of course, but I do kind of miss out on the former at higher levels, whilst the latter seems a given in any large group.
  15. I'd be happy to send over my power customisation files if the devs need them. Maybe they can puzzle over why some show up and some don't.
  16. It's definitely odd - some of mine show up while others don't. Not sure what might be the cause of one being able to show up vs. another though.
  17. I'm pretty sure Air Superiority inflicts -Fly, not Knockback.
  18. As the title suggests, Rune of Protection from the Sorcery pool isn't displaying itself properly, in that the glyphs surrounding the character do not disappear once the power expires. They vanish if a player logs out of the game, or switches to a different map. In fact, said power can 'stack' itself graphically, leading to overlapping Runes of Protection on a character. However, logging out/switching maps also comes with its issues; while it clears any lingering Rune graphics, it does so regardless of whether or not the buff is still on the character. Ideally, switching maps/logging out should not do this (along with having Rune's graphical effects last only as long as the buff does).
  19. Would the Homecoming forum's favicon work as something to use? The game executable icon certainly quite small.
  20. Have you checked out the latest beta patches that came out a couple of days ago? Apparently it has more taunt fixes - give it a shot, and send your feedback on it! I'm sure the devs'll appreciate it.
  21. Oh, I'm under no impression that this should be placed anywhere but the backburner, rest assured. But I think it's worth the discussion. Talking about how personal bases might be implemented is interesting, especially since there's a lot of ways to go around doing it, and potential benefits to consider! Were coalitions not limited to 10 other supergroups, it might be ideal. However, at the moment, it's something feasible only between relatively small ones. Increasing the limit might be one way of working around this, though I imagine this too has some kind of limit.
  22. The Issue at Hand With supergroup bases now being free to create, it's now much easier to create bases for personal use, be that for fleshing out a character (giving them a home of their own), a means of storing more salvage/enhancements, or a quick way of getting from place to place (via base teleporters). However, it comes at the limitation of not being able to join a 'proper' supergroup on that character. Naturally, there is a workaround to this: creating an alt to manage the personal base for you, leaving your character free to join whichever supergroup they wish. While very serviceable, it does have its downsides. Namely: Entering your 'personal' base via a supergroup password becomes mandatory Editing this base requires switching between your regular and alt character You can't use the salvage/enhancement/inspiration storage facilities in said personal base As such, I believe it would be a nice quality of life (i.e. low priority) improvement to let characters create their own personal bases, alongside being able to join a supergroup. This would be done with the aim of resolving the downsides above. Potential Implementation Proposal Personal bases would function as a 'stripped down' version of a supergroup - ranks would not be necessary, though emblems/colours might be optional. There would be no need for permissions outside of "which characters consider this their personal base"; this would give them sufficient permission to add storage, edit the base, etc. This has added benefit for users who want to create a personal base for multiple different characters, allowing them to gather them under one easily accessible place. I imagine this as a join code via slash commands. For example: /joinpb password Designates the personal base with this passcode as the one your character resides in /sharepb password Make your personal base joinable Primarily for people with alts who want to have an umbrella base to join under. Definitely low priority, would be cool This assumes that personal bases would be owned by default. Proposed alternatives welcome! Entrance into the base for others would be through a password, similar to supergroup bases. I imagine that this would require the implementation of a different slash command, such as /pbpasscode password, to allow it to be set alongside a supergroup's. Those who enter via this means would be unable to access salvage racks, etc. similar to how supergroup bases function when entered via a password. When selecting a base entry portal, the "Your Base" option would default to your personal base (if you had one), with the options underneath showing the actual supergroup(s) you've joined/coalitioned with. Conclusion This sounds like a rather complex thing to do, for fairly small quality of life benefits, but I'm putting it out here because it'd be a cool thing to discuss, and small as the benefits may be, they might be of interest to others. So with that, I leave a few questions: Are proper personal bases something you'd be interested in seeing? If no, for what reasons are you opposed? If yes, for what benefits do you support the idea for? What do you think of the proposed implementation for personal bases? Do you have alternative suggestions on how it might be implemented? Any potential improvements on the proposal above? Concerns with the proposal? Looking forward to the responses from the community! Hopefully it gives some food for thought, and stirs a good amount discussion.
  23. Well, it's already been established that the aggro issues here are a bug. Perhaps they could have worded it better, but it will be fixed in future - I'm pretty sure there's some fixes in beta already.
  24. It's called the Ms. Liberty Task Force these days, I suppose...it does make sense.
  25. I'll admit I haven't really had an issue with recovery at lower levels, so I'm not sure if a fix is really needed. In fact, I imagine it's actually easier these days with inherent fitness, though I wasn't around to play the game before that was a thing.
