  1. That's a good observation, however the only one of these powers I use is Bone Crusher for some set bonuses and the chance to stun. Bolt remains unslotted, and I dont use Push or Blast. I haven't checked my rotation in a while but I don't think I've really needed any extra filler, except maybe in a single target chain but that would be TBD. Lift is probably better suited for a different secondary, or a set build that accommodates another ranged set as then it would be there for when I need it.
  2. I find the issue is that its hard to compete with my rotation in /energy. Think thats the problem with Gravity on Dom I suppose, it's damage I find is more welcome on my controller.
  3. I was going to say, "Hey, I love Grav/Energy!" but then I realized that my toon only has 4 Grav powers at 50, and I'd drop Lift if I could. I dislike not having the ST Hold at T2 : (
  4. I can't speak to the correct balance of the game, however I do agree that Wormhole does feel a bit slow. It's a unique and enjoyable power to use but is often overlooked when playing +4 content. If the TP cant be touched up, shortening the cast time or the stun delay might be a good compromise.
  5. Yeah, my build relies heavily on having Ageless on auto. It is unfortunate that the set up is so endurance heavy because it is a ton of fun, just wish it wasn't so dependent.
  6. On live I played an ice cubed Dom as my main before shutdown. It was the first 50 I made when I came back on HC. Any new changes to Ice/, /Ice or //Ice have always been exciting for me. Ice Slick: The lower cast time is an awesome change! The damage may not be much but more options for IO sets is always a plus when building Cold Snap: N/A Don't use/enjoy cones, and its not really needed for my build (Ice/ice/ice already has so much) Arctic Air: Domination integration is a welcome addition! Happy to see these changes thank you : ) My personal wishes: Flash Freeze and Jack Frost being more relevant for Doms. I think this issue can probably be felt on most dom control sets, keeping them the same as the controller counterparts makes it a hard balance and I do not actually expect any changes. Increase Doms hp cap by about 250, Hoarfrost (slotted) only gives about 50% of its bonus because of it.
  7. As someone who loves a shield toon, this is great to hear. Best of luck regardless of the outcome. Enjoying the changes so far.
  8. Great write up for the set, Personally, my play style for Doms doesn't allow for cones. I typically choose melee focused sets and prefer PBAoE powers as its a bit of a rush being able to hold down the mob while standing in the middle : ) The positioning required for a PBAoE and a cone is vastly different, so I choose to skip cones. I love the look of the set so far, might try a ranged Dom out.
  9. Ice/Shield has been a blast. With the current patch notes saying they have fixed Frozen Aura, which after the update will give a stack of Focus its going to be even better. Ice Patch is having its cast time reduced by 1.9s in this update as well, and I am looking forward to using it again. (Tried out the Aura fix on test server, its going to make my chain so much smoother. I can chain Aura, Touch, Frost into Focused AS -repeat- . Prior to test I would have to throw Ice Sword into the chain for the 3rd Focus stack.) My main concern with /Shield is endurance, I have taken Body Mastery for Physical Perfection/Superior Conditioning both to slot +End & +HP procs which makes the build quite stable without the use of Destiny. After the new update drops I will likely try out a snipe patron pool and see how I manage without Body Mastery, but I am not sure its going to work too well. Please note that my perspective is from playing a build that is IO'd to the max. I never have the best builds but I always tune my ideas to the best of my own abilities. (AKA throwing inf at the AH) 100% this. I have tried Elec/Shield and though it's awesome, I think I prefer having the attack chain with Touch, Aura, Frost, AS. Being able to combine an ice sword with an ice shield and use the coloured sprint power to look like I'm sliding around is very fun too.
  10. Tried out Frozen Aura on my Stalker and it for sure is getting me Focus stacks. I am a fool for not bringing this up when I first found out about it as this is a DPS and simply QoL improvement for the power set and my build. Ice Patch cast time reduction is also very welcome as I can add back in a very thematic power. Thank you!
  11. After playing Grav/Energy Dom and Grav/Storm Troller at 50 and fully built, I definitely see what you are getting at here. My Dom focuses on the AoE hold and Wormhole where as my Troller uses Lift. Propel, Crushing Field and Singularity. It's kinda neat how the same set gets used differently for my playstyles. I think a big take-away with Grav on Doms is how much you LOVE wormhole. I wish they'd speed up the cast time on it though. Unfortunately I dont have much to add as far as Dark assault goes as I haven't had much success trying it, but I would like to point out that with Energy Assault all of your KB is single target which has never been an issue when teaming for me. Also I don't know how much mids is changed to match Homecoming, as the set has been changed drastically.
  12. I have an Ice/Shield stalker that I absolutely have a blast with. Tried my hand at an elec/shield afterwards and it just didn't do it for me the same way Ice/ did. I did not expect such good results from Crit AS + Hide Proc + Freezing Touch Crit or the Shield Charge + Frozen Aura wombo. It's fun when you pop BU before Charging and a second time before Aura crits. The ATOs for stalker are great xD The only downside I see with /Shield is that my resistances aren't as high as I'd like however my defences are good and my enemies die rather quickly.
  13. That's a great pairing! I think you'll enjoy it. Solid advice in this thread.
  14. While activating hurricane, press a costume change emote bind. Problem solved.
  15. I am not sure how much more effective energy assault is with a stun power in your primary but it is worth a try. All of /Energy's KB is on single target ranged powers, anytime I knock a target back I can finish it off easily enough myself.
  16. Hey there, please excuse the state of my build below as I am away for the weekend and I pulled this from memory and modified the build on my phone... I have been playing WM/SD for a week and this is what I have been using. I can't see the stats of the other builds so this may be inadequate. There is a chance I have an extra enh slot or misplaced power somewhere here but I think this is fairly accurate. (Grant cover is in the wrong spot, didn't want to edit on phone) Without maneuvers active, this build is about 46 Range/50+ Melee/46 AoE. Please note the use of Agility Alpha for extra Defense. 60%ish Res S/L/F/C, I don't think the E/N is too good and Psi/Tox is around 30-32%. Idk if it's more common to push for higher S/L, but I've been having a good time so far! Global recharge is 150%+ with Hasten up, though needing hasten is debatable. I quite enjoy the Power Transfer/Panacea procs for the extra HP since there is no self heal. Not sure how they compare to added Regen bonuses from sets. Still learning :) No travel power, just ninja run for style points :) and Grant cover is totally swappable! 17. Hey all, Last couple weeks I leveled a Grav/Energy to 50 and maxed out the build. My all time fav character has been an Ice/Ice Dom and now I am worried I may have a new favourite. The reason why I picked Grav was to set mobs up with Wormhole and then activate Soul Drain (Soul Mastery) together. Energy seemed to be a high damage set that would accompany the bonus damage well and I can say that after a Total Focus (Gives bonus damage to the next attack), my boosted Whirling Hands is very satisfying. The fact that wormhole recharges so fast means I have some form of AoE control each new group and am rarely overwhelmed. I am not sure if my build is final yet, but I have enough recharge going to have Soul Drain recharge in roughly 70s which is 40s downtime. My only regret with Soul Mastery is not having the Defense power, however my SL resist is high. I am using a lot of the Winter IOs take make up other Defenses. One of the major benefits I find with /Energy, and I believe it was mentioned already, is that you have both good Melee and Ranged attacks. I prefer to play melee however Power Burst and Snipe being part of your attack chain makes you feel like a ranged melee character.. heh. My build is very top heavy in the sense that most of my early powers are just LotG mules. I have a separate build in the works for being exemplared down and won't focus so much on melee. The biggest downside for this build is the activation times. Wormhole > Soul Drain > Total Focus > Whirling Hands is a monster wombo-combo but it does take time to pull off. Add in Dark Obliteration/Consumption for extra AoE.
  18. I play an Ice/Ice dom and I love it. You can build them to handle melee combat, which is what I prefer in most situations. As with most Doms, they really shine with perma.
  19. It's hard to find your preferred power set with Doms on your first go, as the others have mentioned your play style changes drastically once you get slotted at 50. Personally speaking, I love being an ice cubed (Ice/Ice/Ice) Dom. I tend to rush in and try to hold my own in melee range. This tends to have a lot of different outcomes but ultimately a fun time. I believe there are much better sets for solo builds, but for team play this is great. Notes: Full Sets 45% S/L/F/I, ~30% M/R/AoE Def Perma Dom Havent tested Homecomings damage buffs to Icy Assault My build is meant to maximize set bonuses, which means I have skipped a few ice powers in favour of some I dont use in combat. Anywho, if you have any specific questions let me know. @Ficety
