  1. IH was nerfed 2 weeks before my scrapper was high enough to train it, so can't say if that would be good enough. And while I don't want/think it needs a complete revamp (think it should require more active participation with clicks than other defenses) I do think it needs a good bit of updating. And since summers replied right when I started typing this I will say, the idea of scaling up regen/resist the lower HP drops is sounding better and better.
  2. It'd likely be a coding nightmare, but I've love the ability to just pick up baddy A, throw him at baddy B, and both take damage from it.
  3. Yeah, went through the numbers in another topic on regen, there is no aspect of healing (regen, recovery, click heals, +hp, whatever) that one or more sets don't do better than regen, usually by a fair bit. Someone had said that upping the regen would step on WPs toes, but as I said then and will say again, regen was here first and should be the best at regen/self healing. As for the -recharge resist, I've said I want some, but I will accept ice being better there. I think should be able to get 30-50% in set (though won't argue too hard against more)
  4. Then I'd say we have differing definitions of "take away all the weaknesses". I'm not seeing anyone saying give it a ton of innate defense, give it resist to -def to prevent cascading failure of whatever you scrape together from sets and pools, or perma-MoG or anything else that is without weaknesses. The main things people seem to be asking for are the ability to survive alphas more often than not, and use the rest of the tools in set to have a chance of staying upright through the rest of the fight. I feel those should be things regen should be able to do regardless of primary, but if you scrapper lock and don't hit your heals while fighting something other than +1/3 council then you'll have a bad time.
  5. Yeah, you can plug -resist with winter set frankenslotting, but IOs shouldn't be needed to make a set functional.
  6. For me anyway, it's not resist all the negatives, it's let regen stay good at what it's good at and not have it's defenses shut down entirely by debuffs. I can accept not having end drain protection (though to my previous point, might argue for -recovery protection) but clicks are a big part of regen's defense and inexhaustible opened the door somewhat for "heal/recover good makes you resistant to slows" so I'd say it fits. If there were a way to make debuffs last a shorter duration rather than lower magnitude I might try to argue them recovering faster from to-hit and defense debuffs, but for now I'd say there's no reason for protection for either of those holes.
  7. No idea how it could be implemented, but a combo of the "moar zombies" and damage on death could be that when a zombie dies 2-6 (depending on upgrades) underling class zombies spawn and swarm the enemy that killed it for 20 seconds. It'd have to have a cooldown timer so you can't just keep re-summoning pets to have them die and summon more pets, but if each of the 3 zombies had a 2 or 3 minute cooldown before they summon zombies on death I think it could work. Not sure how to justify it however without the assumption that there isn't a horde of zombies nearby that just aren't attacking though.
  8. From my perspective it feels like every month of the past year has been at least 50 years, and few years before that each month was a decade. I hope time returns to normal sometime soon.
  9. And to TL/DR what I've said in the past, I think regen could use better version of dull pain, more regen in powers, some absorb (preferably constantly ticking/stacking in a passive or toggle) to better handle alpha strikes, more -regen resist, sentinel version of rez, and -recharge resist so can keep clicking those heals.
  10. I'm willing to justify it as you regenerated before the attack even finished. Like if someone slices through you with a sword left to right and your left side is healed before it's halfway through.
  11. While imagining things that almost certainly can't happen, imagine the dev team 20,000 volunteers strong while still being organised so they could work toward a cohesive vision instead of splintering off on 5,000 different projects. I have a few vague ideas of how it might be possible to create the cratering effect on walls, but it involves tons of assumptions on how the graphics can be manipulated and would only result in the cracks being there for a few seconds before fading. So while it might be cool, I don't think it's feasible.
  12. Fair enough I guess, but it seems to be working against you. Though I suppose you may be swaying the opinions of people who haven't bothered to respond and we wouldn't know. As for the mechanics, I can agree they could use a change, I just can't think of a good one, and I would hate the idea of another build up clone. In fact, I wish less sets had build up and each had something at least slightly different for their version of aim/build up, even if it was as simple as martial arts build up recharges 5 seconds faster et cettera.
  13. Not sure how to edit this into my last comment that I posted at same time as you... Then you need to change your argument, because it sure sounds like you have more of a problem with the name than the effect. Plus I don't really see the set feeling nearly as strong balanced around build up vs a perm-able buff.
  14. That honestly seems to be the point. As I ended up editing in my last post, one can make arguments that rage could use some changes, but just saying it has to go because of the name is an incredibly weak argument.
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong (not entirely up to date on comics) but I though Colossus was stronger than a normal human should be outside of his metal form, just that it brought him from 3/10 to 9/10 or something. And Iron Man I mentioned different suits with different strength levels because of course he has normal human strength outside his suit, he also lacks repulser blasts, flight and everything else but his intelligence outside his suit.
  16. It really sounds like you want to take rage out mostly because of the name, and seems like one of the weaker arguments for getting rid of it. If anything, your idea should be the offshoot set of enhanced strength, not gut how super strength works now and make a new set "for angry toons". And for you saying the power boost doesn't fit super strong characters, Emma (diamond form vs normal squishy self) Colossus (Metal vs flesh) and Ironman (Hulkbuster vs standard suit vs stealth suit) Superman/girl (just fighting someone who can match them vs the kid gloves they normally wear) all have boosted modes, and just about any super strong character I can recall would occasionally dig deep for a burst of strength over what they normally display, though I suppose that could be argued as being closer to build up vs rage. And adding in, that's not to say arguments for altering rage don't exist, but I am saying the name is a very weak one.
  17. Yeah, kept the pizza cravings away with that. I like pineapple, I like pizza, but I've never had a good pineapple pizza (though granted, stopped ordering them after a while so my sample size is small) And yeah, I'd have missed that change as well if I didn't glance into the PvP changes thread on beta, I never got into the PvP game and tend to treat the zones as places to get a couple badges/temp powers where other players can screw things up more than usual. Maybe it should've been repeated in the zone changes section, or just a note that the PvP zones got changed, see that section for details.
  18. Just going off mids numbers atm, but both fly and mystic flight are way over the flight speed cap unslotted, and 1/3rd their base speed would still be just a hair under the cap at 50. If we made this hypothetical power 1/4th to 1/5th as strong as flight, but allowed even one slot, you can cap speed with one 50 flight SO, so I feel like if we want the base power to be faster than hover, it'll need to be unslottable. Otherwise if it's at hover speeds (or slower) you'll stay under flight cap bumping into ED cap.
  19. I feel if they were to hand out prestige flight to everyone it'd have to have reduced speed (faster than hover, but not full fly speed either) and unslottable. And maybe toss PBs another bone since one of their things is innate flight.
  20. Yeah, I can agree with those roles for the original pets. When I made my first villain (Ninja/Poison) I had it in my head I'd be king of taking down hard single targets. Managed it pretty well, but looking back, don't think ninja's single target was far ahead of other sets single/AE to be worth it.
  21. I'm now vaguely interested in how a combo mechanic would work for them. Dead mercs build up charges, and spec op's tear gas/flash bang get an extra .25 second duration per stack? A charge every time they charge into melee and commando gets 1 second off the recharge for LRM rocket per charge?
  22. Iirc, the tools for creating models in game were lost with shutdown, so unless someone has made something new think best can be done is re-colors and mashing existing assets together. That said, if possible new tails would be cool.
  23. I'm not! Who are you again? What's this place? What's an MMO? Why is this little character on my screen dressed so funny? The learning might be going backwards for a few of us. That thing on your screen is called is called a Kheldian, and no one's really sure why they look so funny but the leading theory is someone had a seafood platter for lunch.
  24. I think your opening reasoning is very correct and your criticisms are to be considered, even if I disagree. But this comment right here - you'd be better off not making. You must not realize how absurdly wrong note it is. Bringing this up since @Gavric admitted they didn't play live, so they quite literally don't know all that the HC devs have added (and looking at edited first post, they do a slightly better job of acknowledging this). And to add to the current back and forth, communication requires more than one person, and if someone keeps mis-interpreting your intent, then you need to make that intent more clear. Saying something without malice, and having others realize you don't intend malice are two separate things. And I know that can be a struggle, which can be rather frustrating even more so for people who may not be neurotypical, but it's important to be reminded from time to time.
  25. Hadn't tested sonic manipulation much and haven't played for 2 weeks, but I don't see any problem with manipulation sets encouraging melee per se, rather the problem I remember was it just wasn't that great in melee, and the logical pairing of sonic blast has 3 cones and is better at range. And I'd say clearly someone's pet hit a key when they weren't looking changing the code for the missions /nod
