  1. Huh... I was thinking it got brought up back on live, not last year, but at least I didn't imagine the rationalization.
  2. I've heard that Mike Godwin (guy who coined Godwin's law) is disappointed that his law gets invoked so often to dismiss valid comparisons and criticisms for the dumpster fire and his administration.
  3. Again, I'm joking. In my head I'm picturing you shouting "Curse you Dragon Crush" while shaking your fists at the heavens and doing a perfect Dr. Doofenshmirtz voice because it amuses me, but I highly doubt any part of that is actually happening (although who knows, maybe I've now inspired you to try doing voices for a few minutes) Was serious that I tend to dislike people trying to force nerfs they consider fun on people who don't think they're fun rather than simply providing more options, but with just about any game with more than 1 player there will be disagreements as to what aspects are fun and what changes to make.
  4. I know it'll check defense first, and I'm 99.5% sure it'll check resists as well before hitting absorb shield. I'm almost certain it's just extra HP over the cap. Haven't played with ice armor beyond the teens (and that's just alt-itus, not a dislike of the set) but from the outside it doesn't look too bad. It could likely use *something* but between base def/resists, just realized some of the defensive tricks I were attributing to it were part of ice melee, not armor. Maybe add more -recharge to icicles and have hoarfrost pulse absorb 30 and 60 seconds after clicking it... always wanted more differences between the various dull pains.
  5. I've heard that way back when it was considered too strong when ported to tankers with their better defensive mods, so might need some reworking rather than a direct port. That said, I agree adding it would be nice.
  6. However, it's kinda hard to make a crashing power strong enough to be worth it now-a-days. edit to add - At least for heavy crashing powers, light crashes can still work.
  7. Good to know my semi-joking suggestion has earned your eternal rage. Different people have different ideas of fun, my idea was add more options rather than force something one group considers fun onto another group that considers it unfun. And for just trying something different, there is literally over 1000 AT/primary/secondary combos (granted, some might be rather similar), ignoring all the variations with pools and epics as well. Don't need to change a damned thing to have the chance to try something different if you choose.

So, played a bit with new teleport pool just messing around on stone/dark tank, I'd say combat teleport is pretty nice for when you run like a snail, but as someone else suggested, maybe more charges as a synergy bonus would be nice, but not 100% required. I'd also say that the to-hit isn't all that useful, except possibly spamming it to counter-act a to-hit debuff for a moment. I'd rather see the to-hit value lowered a bit, and it also given a small amount of defense. I'm thinking low enough that double-stacked it's less than CJ and hover, but triple stacked it's more. This way people aren't loosing a LotG spot by choosing a different pool, which might shift people away who might've otherwise taken it, but it won't be helping people softcap quite as well. I also think adding a small bit of a to-hit debuff (really small, like 1-5%) to fold space would be nice for a small boost to surviveability when pulling the alpha onto yourself as well as letting us slot accurate to-hit debuff sets for accuracy/recharge and accuracy/endurance/recharge. Might change my thoughts or have more to add after some more serious play with the powers.
  9. I could be wrong, but as I understand it, no. Not the way the power works now anyway. Granite doesn't slap armor over the character, but rather it replaces your model with a new one, best bet for customized granite looks would be offering multiple mutually exclusive picks for granite each with a different graphic (ie can pick either crystal titan version, standard stone, mud, lava, et cettera).

It'd take some UI work, but the idea I had last time I saw this come up was slightly expand what's in the box (another 1-200 characters), but add a link you can click that'd bring up another ingame window for a fuller multi-page bio. There's tons of groups who monitor supers, no reason not to put a link to their database with your full life story, while the current box can be short and sweet version. Adding - Also, it'd be cool if you had the option to have the short form bio say something different for each costume, while the long form you could write out the changes that brought about the costume changes in more detail.
  11. Would involve wreaking the cottage, but maybe drop dark pit for a cloak of fear/sustain toggle (one that suppresses rather than drops) and shuffle that and touch of beyond/fear.

Well, the relationship between to-hit and accuracy is multiplicative, you have a base chance to hit of 75% and accuracy of 1.00, one 50 accuracy IO brings that 1.42 for 106.5% chance to hit an even level minion (capped at 95%). Raising to-hit by 6% would make that 81% x 1.42 for 122.12% chance to hit an even level minion (again, capped at 95%). Defense is essentially subtracted from to-hit, and chance to hit goes up or down depending on level difference. Getting rid of to-hit and changing it to dodge chances just sounds like making everything far less accurate.

  14. Either I'm misunderstanding what you're saying regarding accuracy/to-hit, or that sounds like an absolutely terrible idea. It sounds like you'd need ED capped accuracy to get better than 40% hit-chance vs minions and defense debuffs would be useless. And regards to agro-cap, not sure about removing it entirely, but would be cool if it was higher, or higher just for tanks to give them a more distinct advantage tanking over brutes/scrappers/EATs
  15. Just chiming in that I also think Vanden has the right interpretation of cottage rule, you can add new bits, just don't totally gut the old. Don't think swap ammo would fix merc's damage by nearly enough, but if their version of swap ammo gave them +res, +to-hit, +damage and +recovery every time you swapped that would preserve cottage rule to my understanding, and while I think this cottage deserves to be torn down, a smaller boost to all pets for 30 seconds or so, no crash and about 1 minute cooldown to swap ammo types might make the power worthwhile. Not sure how the power text would justify them being so pumped from swapping powers however.
  16. I'm 90% sure you can, just don't remember how exactly atm... think you right click, monitor combat attribute and can set it for a window you drag somewhere. Going to log in and see if I can figure it out.
  17. It's not 1 for 1, but greater magnitude also increases distance, so close. KD is any KB with a mag less than 1 and knockback of 2.5 will knock further than 1.5.
  18. Not trying to be mean, but what did you think knockback enhancements did? Or did you just manage to never see they existed?
  19. I'd also like to see the various pieces usable regardless of clipping, since I remember deliberately clipping pieces together to create new looks before they were "fixed". Maybe have a pop-up warning of clipping issues to nip the "I didn't want my costume to clip and now I'm mad" rants in the bud.

So, a thought regarding the movement restrictions stone suffers from, electric's grounded only provides it's status protection while on the ground, why not reduce the jump and run penalties but make rooted only provide it's regen/-end resist on the ground and cut the stat protection in half if you're in the air, while granite could loose 1/3rd it's resist/defense/status protection in the air and provide full values on the ground. I'd also say to reduce but not fully remove the penalties, I'm thinking make rooted -35% speed (rather than the current -90%) which would cancel out unslotted swift and -50% jump (not fully canceling hurdles 166% unslotted). Granite I'm thinking could get +15% unenhanceable run speed on the ground to signify the momentum of a ton of rocks moving along, but another -60% jump height (should be about 5 foot jump height with both and unslotted hurdle). Also reduce -recharge to 15%-25% and drop the -damage entirely. And I'd also love some alternate looks for granite, though with my understanding they might have to be separate mutually exclusive powers since it replaces your model rather than covering it. And on mutually exclusive alternates for granite, maybe one that doesn't alter your character model at all and rather than the standard effect boosts the other armors in the set so that if you're running them all they're about as good as slotted granite would be.

Odds of it being powerful if really random seem low, since ending up with ending up with the best blaster ranged attacks and tanker scalars means you don't do damage, no set wide mechanics can really work, slim chance you end up with 1 attack and all end heavy armor toggles or long recharge/short duration buffs/debuffs with nothing to do most of the time... Not sure at the moment how to adjust this to be viable, but not being fully random would be the first step.
  22. Not sure it'd be that easy (matching up cast time and animations that is), but yeah others have suggested whip sets for other ATs and would be great to see them one day.

I'm not trying to be difficult but I did give my example because I really don't see it as being controversial, I see it as straight news, but did spoiler it since it did have to do with politics and OP is saying they don't want to read politics. As I also said, if controversial is simply "it offends some people" I worry that can include anything real or fictional. Suppose just need to try to play it by ear and hope mods give ample warning if someone toes the line.
  24. I don't know about something as narrow as a politics channel, but could go with a general "off topic" type channel, even better if there would be options to either leave it permanently or a few hours at a time.

(spoiler has political facts) So I see controversial politics on there, meaning so saying X totally deserved Y would be against the rules, but stating that the would be ok since it's just reporting facts? Or does controversial just mean someone doesn't like it in this case, because if that's the case, all aspects of reality and fantasy can fall under that banner. Anyway, I'm strongly against any sort of strong arm approach, I say judge your audience, if your group wants to talk politics, it should be fine, ditto for talking about trains, porn, origami, music, religion, terrible music, or anything else that isn't explicitly illegal or done just to start fights . At best, I can see asking people to take political debates in public chats to group or tells, but if 20 are participating happily, 1 is against and everyone else is just not paying attention I don't know what to say.
