  1. That could work, though an alternate suggestion would be after a long enough period they try to walk back, and if they can't they just warp back (to combat them getting stuck in walls). After the second time walking back they start running a shorter distance and more slowly as their legs get tired or their jet-pack runs low on fuel or whatever. So absolute worst case scenario they run off 6 times and then next time you try to fight them they're just "I'm exhausted, I'm just going to stand, fight and hope you're as tired as I am". Would still be annoying and make you want to come up with ways to stop them from running whether through creative use of your own abilities or teaming with someone who can stop them, but would stop the problem of stuff running across the map every time they see you on defeat all's that some here seem to be having.
  2. Yeah, I have to say that the whole "squishies are second class citizens that require all these extras just to function" is confusing to me, I've had blasters that could chew through things almost as well as my scrappers, controllers and doms that locked things down and beat them at my leisure, defenders that turned things into non-threats before they could harm me and MMs that cackled while my pets went to town. They took different strategies than my tanks or scrappers, but nearly anything could solo if you came at the fight right, though granted some required more attention and not all could handle +4/8. There's room for improvements, sure, but doesn't seem nearly as bad as some people are painting it, or I've just lucked out with better powerset synergies than these people.
  3. Honestly, that would be hilarious on a couple missions designed for it. Spend a whole arc beating on this group and the last mission is just finding and clicking a glowie while they all run in pant wetting terror knowing nothing they've done so far has so much as provided a speed bump.
  4. Nothing and no. I'm not asking for or really supporting squishies get mez protection, at least not this easy. I pointed out the way you phrased your statement was "the game should never grow"and said if you want to fight power creep then provide a better argument. I will allow that it might've been a mistake and not intentional on your part, but you just ignored what I said and attacked me for reasons. So maybe the "being obtuse" was not intentional on your part. I really don't see how the antagonism would be accidental, but maybe that was too. But point is, you're latching on to a terrible argument (*not* a terrible point, but the way you try to make that point) and get angry at anyone who points it out.
  5. Right, you're just being intentionally obtuse and antagonistic now. Like I said, you can argue against power creep, and I may very well agree with those arguments, but saying just take the game as is, is asking for the game never grow and die off.
  6. Adding another +1 to thinking sidekicks would be cool, although given my MMs obsession with temp pets I'm now picturing him with another MM sidekick and the chaos that would ensue in caves.
  7. So, I can accept the general idea that power creep can be bad and listen to most arguments against it, but I want to point to this as a bad one. If we just "Lean how to play the game using the tools you're given" then there may as well never be another update, and hey, why not roll back every new AT, powerset, power change and improvement made since I1? No, for a living (or semi-undead) game with updates, looking for and pushing for change is a vital part of keeping it going.
  8. Not sure if it could be made so slotting end mod would affect duration, as far as I know it can only affect magnitude and there's no real difference between having -1000% recovery and -1250% recovery. And I suppose if it's optional (2 mutually exclusive powers to pick from) and worth it (sounds like a very hard thing to accomplish) this could be cool. I just don't really see how to make it worth the crash.
  9. Then maybe don't constantly mention the private server that you're totally not trying to promote except perhaps in regards to "this *can* be done, I've seen it on another server". And insisting all scrappers *must* have taunt auras would annoy me, some of my scrappers prefer to just hold an EB/AV while everyone burns the trash rather than dealing with whole spawn. Maybe putting a mag 1 taunt aura in a pool for people to grab if they want to hold the attention of spawns better might work, though I'm unsure what sort of pool it'd fit in.
  10. While it sounds cool, I have a bit of trouble picturing someone who is supposed to have mastery of the 4 fundamental forces as anything less than an incarnate level threat, so low game would be weird.
  11. The title just made me think "I don't want to be that bald" (I know someone named Sharky), but I could go for more shark-like costume options even if they don'd fit any concepts I currently have in the pipeline.
  12. While I can get behind the idea, I feel like some sort of animation, whether simply hand to your head, hands on hips or arms across your chest glaring or whatever for the power's animation time might be required.
  13. Ah, well I haven't actually met with anyone who identifies as pan (or at least identifies as such and felt the need to share that info with me) so I may be misusing it, but that was my understanding of the term, at least in more fantasy settings where you have non-human sapients like rock people, robots and extra terrestrials rather than more mundane spectrum that currently exists. I do like the idea of Percy getting intel on other things while kidnapped and providing follow up missions, and given the habit of villains of discussing their plans in front of the hostages, think it'd be nice if such a mechanic could be propagated to other hostage rescue missions.
  14. IIRC Rise of the Phoenix also makes you invulnerable for about 15 seconds. Having Rise bumped to 20 and all rezs getting a standard 8-10 seconds of invulnerability for re-toggles would be nice.
  15. To resist it is useless It is useless to resist it His cigarette is burning But he never seems to ash He is grooming his poodle He is living comfort eagle You can meet at his location But you'd better come with cash
  16. Fixed that for you. Don't forget some heroes are walking piles of rocks, sentient mist, werewolves/tigers, bird people, zombies, alien squids... the list goes on. Don't think it'd be feasible but would be hilarious if he could hit on each in a unique way (ie. did you polish your stones today, get your fur done). I'd go though so many costumes trying to see all the lines. As for an actual bisexual character, maybe have a contact with different missions in different level ranges and go from rescuing boyfriend to rescuing their girlfriend (or reverse, and with the implication that things just didn't work out with the first S/O and they're still friends)
  17. I mostly agree that this would be good, though I disagree with the wording of "endgame content" since for me at least it caries the connotation of requiring "best gear" and fully incarnated with optimized powersets to have a shot, though that could just be having played other games with constant endgame grind. But more trials and task forces to encourage getting 1 or more full groups together to do something would be nice, and if incarnate will offer a benefit beyond making it faceroll easy but not being absolutely required to have full incarnate abilities, well that would be a bonus.
  18. In violent times you shouldn't need to sell your soul for a buff (and off of continuing the game, Shout's effectiveness is tied with Regen's for some reason, if you want the blast improved buff Regen)
  19. Honestly, haven't done enough research to say how common the Saturnalia tree was (only that it dates back to before there was a Christmas), or if it had a different name when it was part of that holiday, just pointing out that chronologically Christmas Tree wasn't first. And for the record, I find nothing offensive about calling it a Christmas Tree, or not calling it a Christmas Tree, no religion has a monopoly on decorating dying trees. I kinda hope that if they did add a super tacky gold tree there would also be a mission for villains to try and steal it, and either having trouble moving a solid gold tree or being disappointed it's just gold paint.
  20. Yeah, I'm reading 20-30 minutes for non-speed run and wondering what game you're playing, then remembering all the changes that were made to TFs over the years. Still seems rather quick for a non-speed run, but suppose not totally insane. edit to add - I personally think 45 minutes to an hour should be the sweet spot for non-speed TFs, but don't mind terribly doing the long ones from time to time.
  21. Why else do you think requests for whip powersets are so popular?
  22. Actually, it's a Saturnalia tree. Or we could not get caught up on un-important details like the pagan roots of the holiday. All that matters is we decorate slowly dying tree corpses /nod.
  23. "The more evidence you show counter to my claim the more I'll be convinced I'm right" is the source of so many problems right now. I'd vote for release from accounts that have been inactive for a full year, or an individual character that hasn't been logged in 16 months. Would be more than generous I think in balancing alt-itus and people making a hero/villain and forgetting about them.
  24. What'd be great (and likely not feasible unfortunately) Would be a window with check boxes for the pet powers, so then you can remove 1 or 2 powers from the pet's rotation without sacrificing other parts of the upgrade. Though kinda get the feeling that some people will try removing all but 1-2 high DPA attacks and breaking the chain so maybe there would need to be a minimum number of allowed powers.
