  1. So, first saying I agree with the basic premise and more APPs would be good. Even beyond the elemental ones more psychic and weapon pools could help alot of concepts. But for now as an imperfect work around leviathan patron pool has water spout and hibernate, and Mu has electric goodness.
  2. Forget which one but think one of the other servers made it so the training powers became auto-powers for the MM that pulsed every few seconds upgrading nearby pets, so at the very least we know something like that could be done. That said, I don't mind it being something you cast too much since they made it area rather than single target, but maybe they could drastically reduce the end costs. Something like 5.5 end base vs the current 22.75
  3. Meat Doctor and Arachnoid pics aren't loading for me. Found these pics on another wiki, not sure if they're as good as the ones you tried to post.
  4. Think this was brought up recently in another topic and reply as to why it isn't seemed to be that devs thought it would be a trap since the value would be pretty small even ED capped. I have no objection to it getting slotting options, but maybe it could use something else as well so it's less of a possible trap.
  5. What do you mean no one names Mouse? And some of those guides might be useful. While I don't necessarily run into taken names all the time, I do have far more trouble coming up with names than I do character concepts.
  6. New hero idea. Pick an iconic powerset with a dull grey costume... "*Famous Hero* saved your parents lives before you were born and you ended up named after them, and ended up developing similar powers after *Famous Hero* retired so you decided to follow in their footsteps. However, the superhero registrar didn't appreciate your similar name, and when you insisted it was your real legal name and showed your license to prove it they used their administrative spite to change both your superhero and legal name. You are Generic and you fight crime."
  7. I like the sound of the information kiosk to find out when the next event would be, though would need to work on the phrasing a bit since several events are the sort of thing you'd stop ahead of time if you knew it would be coming. Guess it could be "We've heard rumors the Hellions are planning their next arson target in X neighborhood in Y (rounded off, not down to the second) minutes, maybe you can patrol the area and see if you could stop them (don't make it actually possible to stop them)". Can swap out for super troll rave or other events, but try to give the illusion that they don't have the event on an exact timer and aren't okay with it happening.
  8. Honestly, while I like being able to solo and wouldn't complain much about my squishies just being handed mez protection it would be power creep, and I disagree that everything should be able to solo as effectively. I mean, anything can solo -1/1 at a slow pace unless you go out of your way to make the build as bad as possible, but trying to make it so anything can do +2/5 or better seems too far and too likely to remove uniqueness between ATs and powersets. And to add to that, making scrappers/tanks/brutes/stalkers/blasters as useful to a team as another support class would take an overhaul as well. Currently since they act as for multipliers the more supports the stronger they get, a team of 4 support classes will almost always be stronger than a team of 5 with no support. To get back on topic, maybe in addition to task force targets, can have rotating enemy groups that provide an extra 10-15% chance of uncommon and rare recipies that get changed around monthly as well as a few more events through the year. I understand dev time is limited so it'd take a while to come up with them, but I think ideally down the road there would always be at least 2 limited time events going on at once.
  9. I propose letting SR get scaling regen in exchange for Regeneration getting scaling resists.
  10. Now I'm thinking some tricksy stuff they could do to turn Crane Kick into an AE... hit foe with it and have a pseudo-pet spawn and deliver PBAE damage centered around the kicked target .25 seconds later to imitate doing damage to whatever you kicked them into. -edit- Thinking about it a little more, maybe drop the initial hit down to Storm Kick level damage, while having the secondary hit do Thunder Kick level damage and target the main target as well, and also apply kockdown to simulate bowling whatever you hit as well as tying up the initial target longer KDing them a second time as they're getting up. It'd be a slight net gain in ST damage while not being too strong for AE and hopefully leaving room for other improvements elsewhere in the set.
  11. Yeah, a gravity assault set might be enough to make grav doms more popular, thematically I have trouble really pairing it with anything but maybe psy and energy right now and kinda feel like it might be stretching it.
  12. As for it being (possibly) the least played dom set, while that could be indicative of set issues, for every AT there needs to be a least popular set. As long as it's just "not the best" and people aren't coming up with great concepts to use it then that would be less of a problem than "broken and under-performs by a massive amount". The former might be something that gets looked at eventually, where the latter would need much more attention more urgently. But seeing as this is the suggestion forum and you don't seem to be saying "this needs to be fixed now" then kicking around ideas that might be implemented at some point in the distant future certainly doesn't hurt. As for making it more blast-y for doms and not tearing down the cottage (still thinking on that), maybe have their version of lift and propel add some +damage to all attacks for a short while rather than just having the bonus damage from gravity distortion so that while it won't necessarily be the best on it's own, it could help boost whatever secondary the dom is using.
  13. So, as you said you don't have a solution, but are you thinking more along the lines of "the blast-y controller set needs to be nerfed" or "the control-lite dominator set needs to be buffed". I likely won't have much to add since I only have had 1 baby grav controller, but knowing the direction might help with theory crafting. And as I type this, if going for buffs I'm thinking doms need a distinct version like how controllers get dark affinity as opposed to dark miasma, but I'd need to think more how it could be implemented without slamming into cottage rule hard.
  14. Regen isn't newly balanced, it got nerfed harder than it should've back in issue 5, then got Moment of Glory changed to something more useful in issue 11 (which was the same issue that added Willpower) and Resilience got changed to resist all rather than resist smash/lethal/toxic in issue 21. The game closed with issue 24 in beta. And while I agree that Regeneration needs buffs, I think many would say just adding straight resist/defense isn't the way to go, though I've seen and liked the idea of adding scaling resist bonus so you start with 10% from Resilience at full health and it scales up to far better values as health drops.
  15. I think it came down to many weren't crazy about it and the change by itself wasn't enough to get MA where they wanted it, so they put it off and the whole set will get adjustments at a later date.
  16. So, how about rather than removing level shifts, every +1 shift you unlock also allows you to set your difficulty +1 higher? That way you have bigger numbers and the level spread dozens crave. Can even be extended so when you exemp down in ouro you can fight 37s at level 30 to prove your power. Those sound like some cool ideas, though not sure how many times could roll out new IO sets for faction specific groups before start copy/pasting everything but name, and having a set drop for a short time never to be seen again would be rather annoying.
  17. I think (but would need to use power analyzer to check) that many of the combat escorts have player perception levels, so they can spot and run off to attack stuff from a range for 500, while normal NPCs and hostages have a perception range of around 65. Maybe if those perception ranges could be flipped, then yeah stealth would be a problem for getting combat escorts to follow you, they at least won't always run off and die.
  18. No, not really. But if it's a stupid pointless thing others will burn influence on, well then it works as an inf sink. Some things I think are important for inf sinks are that some people decide to waste money on them, and they offer no significant advantage so as to not be a poor tax.
  19. It's an idea for an inf sink, so the idea is to get rid of excess inf without adding anything *necessary* for the cost. Also, I too like the idea of giving money to NPCs and maybe getting badges in exchange, always broke into houses and left extra gold behind for the poor people in the various Elder Scrolls games so it's right up my alley. And villain versions can have names tweaked for "villain with good PR" theme.
  20. Well, speed boost in whirlwind was 80% joking, but I'd say changing the KB to knockup and minor smashing damage after a slight delay (to simulate slamming into the ground after getting tossed) could be a couple things. And maybe slight increase in runspeed cap for each power from the speed pool instead, can do similar for jump speed/height and leaping pool.
  21. Afterburner requires 2 other flight powers, hasten can be first pick, so the obvious solution is to make it so you have boosted max runspeed only while whirlwinding /nod
  22. Honestly, I'm struggling to remember any MMO ads outside the occasional one I see on youtube these days and WoW used to advertise on TV. But pretty sure I heard of Ultima, Everquest, and CoH all by word of mouth (or message board post). And speaking of Everquest, could try adding endgame content every year while simultaneously releasing new servers that can't access the newest expansions...
  23. Second and Third images aren't loading for me. No objection to sending in animals to attack for you or attacking in a way reminiscent of animals, but no idea how easy/hard it would be to add such powers.
  24. Nah, swords, blasts of fire and massive amounts of radiation are used for non-lethal arrests, flowers are used for killing people /nod
  25. Don't know about programming for CoH, but you would need a way to detect when they make contact with the wall/ground so the effect doesn't appear before they hit, detect direction of movement, force (tripping with dragon tail for example shouldn't cause craters). Suppose just doing something vs doing something that looks good and makes a degree of sense would be different levels of difficulty.
