  1. I think it is pretty obvious from your quote that people see the value of my post even if you don't understand. Or I can just do the sensible thing at this point and put you on ignore.
  2. If you are drag-racing with a bulldozer, what do you think is going to happen? But - at the end of the day ... you are still on a team with other real life people and not gaming by yourself in a single player game. You are right now and you have been in other posts. Very much so. If you are on a team, what is going on is not your choice alone. Other players are making their own choices as well. I'm sorry that that appears to be so hard to understand. When you are 1 out of 8. 7 other people are deciding what they want to do regardless of what you want to do or what you expect them to do. But at the same time, each member of the team is most likely suspecting that they are playing with others that are trying to cooperate with one another.
  3. Pretty much seems to be coming from a tanker that is annoy about what other players are doing rather than finding their niche on the team and insisting that there is only one way to play when there is a tanker on the team. If it is a full team, you are only 1 out of 8 players on that team. And as other people have said, if you don't like the behavior of the other players aka that they annoy you, then you should feel free to leave the team.
  4. Please quote your post that I misrepresented. Yes. As stated, 1) Other players on the team can state that they have issues or their observations about someone else's behavior on the team 2) Players can leave the team if they don't like it. 3) The team leader can kick the offending player if they are becoming and issue to the team. And that goes for any kind of behavior and not just "hulk smash!" tankers. No. Every player has their right to say something about that is going on if they are on a team. It may be unwanted or it could be other people on the team are thinking the same thing and simply haven't said anything. If there is something going on that is an issue, it is helpful to the team is someone(s) step-up to say something and, hopefully, more teamwork will develop. Unless it is a team thing, and then it is a group decision ... which is kind my whole point. As they say, there is no "I" in "team".
  5. This is related to :: Its like drag racing with a bulldozer. You may not be the quickest but everyone will know where you have been. So yeah, I do think that is the result of tanker getting scrapper-lock. In no way, does that project that view on "all of us". I know that I do not behave that way when I tank. You are correct, the team leader can kick a tank behaving in that manner and/or it can quit the team if they don't like it. I do a good bit of team leading. -or- as I experienced last night, if the tank is going to rush ahead and can't even handle it, I'm going to protect the rest of the team to the best of my ability and they are on their own. And watched them face plant repeatedly for no good reason. And you should try to remember, that one player playing a tank and getting scrapper-lock is one player playing that way and not the "team" playing that way. No. I can bring up my issues with behavior with the rest of the team. The rest of the team can comment on behavior. The Team leader can make decisions based on that communication. Unless you are a team and want to team with others, and then it is about the group of players and not about me or any individual member of the team. What is good for the whole of the team makes the team better for everyone. This is what makes a team become so much more powerful when they learn to gel with each other. Lead, follow, or learn how to do what is best of for the team because something is missing if you don't supply it. Otherwise, you aren't acting as part of the team, you are a lone wolf or a berserker - in most cases, the team ends up to have to chase this maniac and treat them as the leader if they remain in the team ... or they an simply ignore them and let them run off on their own because the refuse to behave as part of the team.
  6. Yep, pretty much like that. The Bulldozer just pushes most of the stuff to the sides as it plows through and ignores what it leave behind because it is going to quickly to do the job properly. Yep, because of the path of enemies that were left behind for the rest of the team.
  7. Level locked my first at 8 to work on finishing the 5-9 magic arc. It was a real challenge to do the hunts (Helions and CoT) in Perez Park solo, but I managed to do it. As an added challenge on my magic character (Fire/martial arts blaster), I have been running with just brawl (one slotted - SO acc), ki push (three slotted - SO acc, acc, recharge), and apprentice charm. I have flares and fire blast (both three slotted) but I have been trying to keep them in case I can't handle something - so far, I haven't needed them. As Indicated, I am running all the content at base levels. My natural character was went to hunt Lost that were all purples, so I started doing a 2nd tier 5-9 arc so that I could level up that character a bit before going after the Lost.
  8. Thanks, couldn't remember what it was called. I didn't think it was a mess. I thought it was what the villains deserved. You know, they should have to pay higher prices on the Black Market for their illegal goods with their ill-gotten gains.
  9. So far, this is very time consuming as I'm working on 5 characters. I'm going to focus on one until I complete the 5-9 origin contact related to their origin and then go to the next one ... continuing on focusing on completing the missions for their origin.
  10. I was "speed"ing up to try to get into the game to meet up with a friend. I meant "spend". Thanks! Corrected. And honestly, you now what they say - sometimes you have to spend money influence to make money influence. oh, and I think that the tactic advertisers use on YouTube is called "Speed Influence". So, yeah, go make some influence and buy some of my IO set enhancements.
  11. When City of Heroes first came out, Influence was the only currency. It was a measure of how heroic the public thought that you were. It was earned only through defeating villains/enemies and successful mission completion (some missions could be failed which would actually take away influence because you failed in the eyes of the public!) When City of Villains came out, the villain currency was Infamy. It was a sign to the public of how villainous you were. As the game progressed, the Auction House system was added (Wentworth's/Black Market) and, at the same time, the invention system (salvage and recipes were added along with the ability to craft those recipes with the necessary salvage). Now you could gain both recipes and salvage through defeating enemies and mission completes. These could be crafted. Recipes, salvage, crafted enhancements (IOs and IO sets), normal enhances (training, DOs - dual origin, and SOs - single origin), inspirations, etc could be sold on the market to other players. I can't remember if it was before or after this that you could start training influence to other hero players and infamy to other villain players, but it was sometime around this time. When Going Rogue hit, Praetorians didn't get their own currency(?) All Currency was merged into Influence. This was because this is when the alignment system was added and heroes and villains could "change sides". I kind of remember that this didn't happen all at once and there was an issue at one point when villains/rogues weren't able to use Wentworths and heroes/rogues couldn't use the Black market. Heroes and villains couldn't exchange funds because Influence wasn't the same kind of currency as Infamy (obviously, as one was for heroic deeds and the other for being villainous) Once all currency became Influence, Heroes/Villians/Praetorians all had the same currency and Wentworths and the Black Market were merged into the Auction House with all characters having access to the same public trading system. You can email influence to your self and others. You can transfer it through the trade window if you are close enough to another character as well. For most players the main way to gain influence is still through defeating enemies and mission completions. That is why some people Farm; farming is also used for power-leveling. Other way to get influence is through the Auction House. This can be accessed anywhere outdoors by typing /AH You can also access the Auction House system by visiting a Wentworths on hero side or a Black Market on villain side (sorry, Praetorians ... do you guys still use EBay or is it Craig's List?) You can sell your salvage, recipes, crafter enhancements, and other drops on the Auction house to gain influence. Sure, you can buy stuff at the Auction House, but you were asking about how to make Influence and not spend it! Welcome to THE CITY. Have fun!
  12. Long ago, but not immediately upon my joining Homecoming, I stopped saving invention salvage. I'll store Event salvage and maybe unslotters. I'll only put 2 or 3 salvage racks in a base. Most of the time they are empty. I sell all salvage that I'm not using. It's a waste of time for me to sort it. I go through salvage too fast.
  13. Superheroes wear masks. /e thumbsup
  14. as far as I know it is one account per email address. I have 2. one is my mask with only 1 character. My main account ... well, I don't see why you need more than one to do significant marketing. I have 128 characters and I could be making like 1000 per server? so I'm a bit confused why I would need a second account. it might be easier to do some shuffling, but I seem to be doing okay without a second account interacting with my main account.
  15. Gatchaman aka Science Ninja Team Gatchaman
  16. Of course. This is the behavior of bullies and miscreants. It shouldn't stop a hero from standing up and defending the City.
  17. I haven't had an problems telling people to move to /general. Sometimes they complain on the way out, but they move to the /general channel. You don't scare me by saying that I'm being a channel Nzi for doing what other people want done but aren't willing to do. There aren't GMs on to monitor the chat channels. The DEVs created /general because of all the /general chat on /help and /LFG, didn't they? They showed their policy in creating the /general channel. If you want to chat in /LFG or /help you are out of line. It isn't what it is there for. And don't worry, I use /ignore when I need to, but I'm doing going to stand-up and say something before I have to put someone on /ignore.
  18. Agreed. But /help is for questions and not "general" discussion. People used to be just as bad about chatting in /help as they would get in /lfg. /general is for chatting. /lfg is for forming groups. /help is for questions it really isn't that hard of a concept. To some extent we are policing ourselves, so someone at some point has to be the adult in the room and say something to the offenders or they think that it is okay to continue being disruptive. By having a chat in channel in the /lfg and/or /help channel, players are being disruptive to a majority if not all the other players on the server. Those players are the one out of line and not the person telling you that there are alternatives where you can chat freely. /general was created by the DEVs because of this issue - which has been ongoing.
