Additional options for Sheathed Weapons
Sakura Tenshi replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well for scrapper and tank katana, they draw the sword from the hip with most customizations, there are two exceptions to this: The Rikti Sword and the Apocalypse pruner. I speculate this is because their size and shape would make it awkward looking to hang from the hip like the others. Interestingly, it seems their sheathed state has these two placed on the back but with the handles down so it's still theoretically plausible for the draw animation to work, though it would imply the character has to reach further and draw it in a larger arc. Meanwhile, Blaster ninjutsu secondary and stalker ninja blade (and I believe sentinel ninja tools APP) draw from the back as the default ninja blade is... A ninja blade than a katana and is a straighter, shorter sword with the default model. There's a whole thing about the difference between the samurai sword and the ninja sword, why they draw from different positions, yadda yadda. But does boil down to in this game things that are based in the stalker powersets draw from the back meaning tank and scrapper are the only ones who use 'true' katana style and draw from the hip. -

Shield Customization Suggestions
Sakura Tenshi replied to That Ninja's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I mean I’ve wanted a “shield less shield defense” because shield defense has a lot of awesome stuff going for it mechanically: Solid mix of resistances and positional defenses (good if your character is tough and actually evasive) Grant cover is honestly a better team defense buff for melee characters than maneuvers The charge is awesome and does decent damage unlike spring attack its one of only three armor sets that give total mez protection coverage. (and in /nin’s case only for scrapper and sentinel versions) speaking of sentinels, this could let us have “shield defense sentinels” -

It’s a total side note, but perhaps positional defenses should be a little more common in future sets which use defense? As is, most defense buffs we get that are not from full power sets (so really just Nin, SR, and Shield) grant bonus defense to all types, which makes sense as they’re supposed to be a decent choice regardless of your AT and power selection. That also being said, can Heightened Senses in Willpower become positional defense based? It never made any sense that it was typed defenses when “heightened senses” implies you’re dodging rather than are so tough hits glance off you harmlessly. -

mom pretty sure that’s how they’re supposed to look. If you look at the weapon models Lost and Crey use those things pulsate with light, as do the player beam rifle/robotics mm pulse rifle versions. That said, it is a bit of a weird thing to have on ballistic weapons but we already have a ray gun with no discernible barrel opening but rather the classic sci-fi needle tip or bead surrounded by floating rings. -

Honestly, if we’re adding ports, two models I’ve always wanted ported to Katana is Excalibur and the Barbarian Longsword. Though I do think the latter would need some model adjustments to work for Katana. edit: *liked by CA* *DEUS VULT INTENSIFIES!* -
I always found it weird how the live devs would say “long skirts will look awful with martial arts animations and similar ones!” and meanwhile, about every melee power set possible was used by the Tsoo and more than half of them had long robes. This included them doing Martial Arts animations and many others and while it looked rough they still didn’t look half bad. Also still jealous of the Tsoo Sorcerer hats and the Hanya masks, also that only females got the glowing tattoos.

Hey, this makes me realize: the badge description for beating Romulus suggests he's the first human-nictus fusion. But Shadowstar's existence means that's patently wrong since she's been around since 'Ancient Egypt' which would mean she'd have to predate Romulus due to him supposedly being the last Western Roman Emperor around 500 AD, and I believe most of the final decades of BC ended 'Ancient Egypt' and began Ptolemaic Egypt. So either Shadowstar has the first nictus-human merger, or if they were a warshade when they got here, it meant they were pursuing another nictus who would have merged with a human earlier.

Any *old old* game things you kinda miss?
Sakura Tenshi replied to Gulbasaur's topic in General Discussion
>.> I never figured out how to install Vidiot maps so it’s still like this for me. @Gulbasaur as far as capes and aura unlocks go, those were trivialized when the live devs added a bunch of capes and auras you could have from creation. -
Just throwing this out there: Level Lock AE
Sakura Tenshi replied to Sakura Tenshi's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
@Darmian no arguments here on the idea being rather hazy, it was mostly just a suggestion I was honestly throwing out in hopes it might address whatever the SCORE team’s concerns are and could mitigate future nerfs and even lead to buffs in AE.* But, while unpopular, I am happy to see some good discussion going on than just a procession of /jranger gifs. *I think one of the things that bug me about custom AE enemies and power selecting is how you need to give even custom minions a lot of powers to give full rewards, even at low levels. Meanwhile, the live game includes enemies with single attacks, no resistances, and that’s fine for a level 50 minion. I’m referring to freaking Council troops for clarity. That’s seriously just some BS. -
So, basically the removal of Veteran EXP, AEs from starting zones, and other such changes they have often been controversial in the past (and present) have been geared towards two things: balancing rewards/time ratio of AE with other content, but also to prevent new players/characters from ending up only doing AE and neglecting all other content, especially starting stuff, I have a kind of simple proposal: just as the title says let's just lock AE access behind a certain level. What would be a good level to 'unlock AE' can be up for debate. Actually this whole thing is up for debate and I'd like to hear all of your thoughts on it. But I think level 20 would be the latest, and maybe even the ideal level to open up AE for people. Let's them experience the early game stuff, even run a a TF or two and DFBs, then by level 20 this bigger field opens up to even make your own content. And, I don't know if it should be done in conjunction with any of the existing or planned measures or just on its own, but that's sort of where you all come in. What do you think of this suggestion?

Well, if that's the bottomline, alright. I was about to propose AE just requiring an unlock mission/arc and that being set at level 5 or 10. -

You know, someone in the Mission Architect thread brought this up: but if the idea of removing Atlas and Mercy AEs is to prevent new players/characters from just getting farmed and never experiencing the same, we might just want to consider removing the Pocket D entrances that were added to Mercy and Atlas? I'm just saying that might kind of undercut it a bit. Also, total side note: while I don't mind the removal of the AEs myself, I do kind of wish the AE building design had been kept and just relabeled with some FC banners flung over it or something because the AE building itself is kind of nice-looking. Though I also get why you can't do it since it is meant to be the entrance to the new Fort Trident. -

Here's a copy of my working AV that I've made using Wordpad. @Gorgar I don't know what's up with yours though, formatting seems right, I might say your critter has too many attacks and is ignoring some of its additional ones in favor of its primary. How many primary active powers did you give it? -
This has been a bit of an issue since they added these to arachnos. I had a similar issue where Huntsman Ohanko was spawning as a huntswoman, but in between those missions appeared as a male again as a captive.

I’ll just say my issue with the Numina task force is that the story just seems so freaking disorganized, like the live devs had no idea what they wanted it to be about until the last few missions, especially since the whole thing starts with Numina just saying she had a vague feeling of unease.

You worry about this. Meanwhile, I'm experimenting on making AVs who are unfairly unkillable. So far, standard Willpower works, but I threw on Shield Defense' True Grit to bring their total HP pool by +40%. I might need to add on Integration from Regen too to add more passive regeneration. I wonder if I can just stack fast healing from both Willpower and Regen? Edit: I should also note my experiment of giving another AV with energy melee and invul on top of robotics seems to have ended in failure as they would not summon their robots. -

I think the justification for the Mercy AE burning down should have, appropriately enough, been someone disengaging the safeties during a fire farm. -
New power pools suggestion: Survivalist
Sakura Tenshi replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I like this overall, but I do have some thoughts and suggestions: Decoy seems really powerful for its availability, even assuming it only has as much HP as a tier 3 MM pet an aggro sink is a powerful tool. Healing Tincture seems overall okay, might need to also be moved up a tier. Might also be cool if it could also be used on allies somehow. I’d suggest changing hardiness to resist cold, fire, and toxic myself. Both for thematically and since it would help have a better niche of adding against more exotic damage types. Maybe instead of an auto or toggle it could be made into an interruptible click to work with the idea of survival skills involving preparation? I really don’t know about survival shelter, it’s the only one I find just a little silly and out there. Vazhilok don’t use wrist crossbows, they have hand crossbows.- 1 reply

I mostly approve of this because, honestly, the villain alignment power is absolutely awful for Masterminds.

@Tyrannical actually had an idea awhile ago (can't find the post) for origin related tip missions that could drop which I was a pretty big fan of. Aside from that I thought it'd be interesting if some origin enhancement stores started to also carry some temp powers that might be stronger depending on your origin.

This, actually pretty literally. Gaia Redeemer is a reincarnating arcane warrior whose specialty is in enchantments, and especially “spatial volume folding”. I play him as having limits to how much he can do it (or rather safely, mentioning once you get past about x3.3 internal volume you start to encounter instabilities and risks of explosive rupturing), and so he doesn’t keep the Titan weapon sword in hammer space (he’s supposed to have it on his back), but he can keep a number of magical potions, regents, evidence, restraints (enchanted zip ties), etc. on hand. Also helps his signature trench coat is made from his old robes from his life as an Oranbegan and could handle a hell of a lot of enchanting.
