Allow allies to pass through henchmen freely
Apparition replied to Weylin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I remember those days. I had five Masterminds, three of them before Issue 13. That still doesn't mean that respawning and re-equipping your pets for every mission today still wouldn't be an unnecessary pain in the rear. Especially when you team with speedrunners who will not wait for you. -
Allow allies to pass through henchmen freely
Apparition replied to Weylin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Meanwhile, you've just spent two minutes summoning and equipping your pets, are now low on endurance, and your teammates have already reached the end of the map and are fighting the AV. -
Receiving tells out of the wazoo the moment that one of my toons reached level 46 (or whatever it was): "Hey, do you mind going to PI and bridge for us?"
-
The reason for that is because the police drones in Portal Corps will zap nearby Rikti. Goodbye, XP, INF, and Vanguard merits. Not that that excuses yelling, but there was a legitimate reason to ask people to move. Of course, people being people, like you said it's like trying to herd cats. Which is why I don't bother with Rikti zone invasions in PI.

Heh, good choices! I have a Water/Force Field Corruptor and a Beam Rifle/Sonic Resonance Corruptor. :D
-
Mostly true, but it depends on what you want. I have a Water/Force Field Corruptor for Rikti mothership raids and Incarnate Trials, (which has a lot of irresistible damage anyway). Why? Force Field Controllers and Corruptors have the highest AoE mez protection in the game outside of the Clarion Destiny. Higher than Force Field and Sonic Resonance Defenders even. Plus, Force Bubble helps a lot with both Rikti mothership raids and the BAF Incarnate Trial. "You shall not pass!"

Yeah. Excelsior Hamidon raids have been doing the same since early July, just @Foxfyre hasn't updated the guide yet. Basically, the two taunt teams go in, get their full attack chain against Hamidon in, then establish aggro against their assigned mito/Hamidon. Once the taunt teams are in place, everyone else piles into the goo and directly assaults Hamidon until he's curbstomped. Rinse, repeat twice for a total of three times. Like @boxhunter has said, that strategy requires two leagues to pull off, but that hasn't been a problem.
-
Yeah. For the zerg raids, the Excelsior server Hamidon raid leaders have had the taunt teams go in and get their full attack chain on Hamidon before assuming their taunt positions.
-
I should also mention that the Melee Radial Hybrid helps as well, both for its additional taunt and its additional regen. You don't need the Rebirth Radial Destiny nor the Melee Radial Hybrid though. Fire/Fire Tankers have tanked mitos before the Incarnate system. They're just very helpful to have.

Front of the Hamidon is what faces the rock, (where everyone congregates beforehand.) Thusly, the back is the side facing away from the rock. That depends on which server the raid leaders originally hailed from. Each server (Freedom, Justice, Champion, etc.), assigned different numbers to the mitos. The mito numbers Champion Hamidon raiders used may be different than the mito numbers Justice Hamidon raiders used. Some people who only played on one server or are new to Hamidon raiding may not realize that other servers used different mito numbers, so they just assume. Ask your taunt team leader, or failing that the Hamidon raid leader. Healing doesn't actually help too much, because if you take enough shots from Hamidon (ten shots, IIRC), you will stop healing for a while. What does help is regen. Members of my SG were in a nine person Hamidon raid once several years ago that used a Regen Brute to tank Hamidon. A Fire/Fire Tanker will do just fine though. Just be sure you have plenty of Essence of Earth candies, and a few green candies for before healing stops working. Should you eventually take the Rebirth Radial Destiny, that will help as well. One mito taunter going down won't doom a league. I've been on Hamidon raids back before sunset where a very good taunter would cover two mitos if needed. It's not pretty, but it's doable. I was always an assault team leader for Hamidon raids before sunset, so others would be better suited to answer this specific question. (I was never one for tanking.) However, you want to stay just within taunt range of the mito. Do not enter the goo. If you taunt too closely to the mito, the AoE attack from the mito may hit and kill the DPSers. Whatever you do, don't fly or hover. Correct. Once you are just within taunt range and the raid leader gives the go-ahead, spam taunt on your assigned mito, and eat Essence of the Earth candies as needed. I am on the Excelsior server, so I can't help you with that one. However, I do recommend reading @Foxfyre's excellent Hamidon raiding guide.

Water goes well with just about everything. That said, if you want synergy, Force Field. Water does a lot of -defense and knockdown to match Force Field's +defense and knockback/knockdown.

Some real talk about Ghost of Scrapyard
Apparition replied to Hedgefund's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yep. He respawns once the server resets, and then usually respawns throughout the day, but then within a day or two he stops spawning. My SG and coalition believed that people were bumrushing Ghostie and leaving the miners alone, which would prevent him from respawning. From what GM Capocollo said, that may not be the case, but something is causing the event to eventually break which only a server reset will fix. -
Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer
Apparition replied to Metalios's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
I am not a developer by any means, but what OS are you using, and what version of .NET is installed? -
I don't know what server you're on, but there's a Hamidon raid almost every night on Excelsior server which can net you four Empyrean merits as well.

Some real talk about Ghost of Scrapyard
Apparition replied to Hedgefund's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yeah. Ghost of Scrapyard can mostly be found on Tuesdays and Fridays. A few weeks ago, I soloed him on a Friday afternoon on my level 50 Radiation Melee/Radiation Armor Brute. Less than ten minutes later, he respawned. -
The Philotic Knight's Buff Force Fields 1.0!
Apparition replied to _NOPE_'s topic in Suggestions & Feedback
IMO, Force Field needs +absorb somewhere (perhaps Dispersion Bubble), to differentiate itself from Cold Domination. You could also do some -regen or -resis like @Bartacus suggested, but it would be more true to form to Force Field to keep it a pure buff set, and Absorption fits right in with force fields. -
What is the player cap inside a SG base? 25? 50? 100?
-
There's Excelsior, Excelsior Badges, and Excelsior TFs. However, most people use just plain ol' Excelsior. Sadly, the other two are a bit dead.

What are my options for challenging content?
Apparition replied to Illy's topic in General Discussion
The biggest challenge in this or any other online multi-player game is to successfully herd enough cats for long enough to successfully complete a raid or iTrial. -
It would have to be in a neutral zone like Pocket D, but that's a brilliant idea! Thanks!
-
Welcome back, Pep. Most of Champion are on Excelsior. You can tell by all of the drama with some of the nightly Hamidon raids.

That is good to hear!

Got complaints about being a mastermind in a group
Apparition replied to plainguy's topic in Mastermind
To be fair, I have a level 50 Mastermind and I wouldn't tolerate being teamed with a petless MM either. -
If I do, it probably would be on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Some people suggested Wednesday night that I run my Rikti mothership raid after the impromptu one finished, but then it would run into the scheduled Hamidon raid at 10 P.M. ET/7 P.M. PT. So others suggested that I run it after the Hamidon raid, but that would be too late as I should be in bed by 11 P.M. ET as I have work in the morning. I don't want that to happen again, and Hamidon raids are pretty much every night on the server. Since I work Monday through Friday, the only real times to allow for possible impromptu Rikti mothership raid conflicts would be Saturday or Sunday afternoons or early evenings, ET. Honestly, I think I'm just not going to bother with Rikti mothership raids again until if/when the league bug is fixed. Too many variables, too much trouble.
