Yeah, most of the issues seem to be from people installing CoH in their Desktop or Download folders, or other Windows protected folders. -
That argument is a bit disingenuous. "Legacy" City of Heroes had twelve North American servers compared to Homecoming's four North American servers, was only free-to-play for its last operational year in comparison to Homecoming being free-to-play off the bat, and had... what... 50? character slots per server in comparison to Homecoming's thousand character slots per server. I know of multiple people who have over 200 character names in reserve on one server. While not impossible to do in "Legacy" CoH, that would have been a very expensive undertaking at a minimum of four subscriptions per month and the money to unlock the character slots. In addition, there is simply no possible way that they will ever get all 200+ characters to level 50. It is a situation that is far greater compounded on Homecoming than it ever was on "Legacy" CoH.

As you came across, yep, it is by design and definitive. As I said, most modern forums are like this now, for better or for worse. Web developers want to streamline things with few or no user options in order to "simplify" things so that websites display the same on desktop, notebook, or mobile device.

Huh. Odd. Yeah. There's been a few different TFs I've had to have everyone re-log to work around various bugs, like the Admiral Sutter TF and Apex TF. At least that works!

Yeah, the game does not like people quitting during a TF. The bug doesn't occur every time someone quits a TF, but enough to be annoying. Glad you got it sorted.

Can sometimes happen if someone quits in the middle of a TF. Did you try having everyone log off, wait two minutes, and then log back on?

I want to raise this suggestion again, because Hamidon raids with three or four leagues worth of players is insane on multiple levels. Lag being first and foremost. After experiencing a Hamidon raid with more than three leagues of players a couple of weeks ago, I left in the middle of it because I couldn't take the lag anymore and haven't been back in The Hive nor The Abyss since. Please lower the zone cap in The Abyss back down to 50 players.

I had that happen recently. It was a defeat all, and it completed with two rooms remaining full of mobs. Forget the mission though.

Addendum: I just noticed a new temp power in my power tray... Idol of Lughebu. From reading its description: "When you rescued Suzanne Trent, she gave you this idol she found in..." Blah, blah, blah. So, apparently completing that mission I was randomly dropped into and didn't have gave me a temp power.

I was on my level 34 Dual Pistols/Temporal Manipulation Blaster, running Ward's missions in Night Ward. I got the mission "Stop the Talons." I entered the mission... And I found myself in a cave map. Someone else's cave map. It was a completely different mission as well, "Save Suzanne Trent." I was still level 34, and all of the enemies were level 22 BP. I joined their team and exemped down to level 21 so they would get XPs. Once the mission completed, I left, and it kicked me back out to Night Ward. I still have the "Stop the Talons" mission to complete. Very strange. It actually happened to me once back in Issue 5 in the Hollows. I played a Sonic Attack/Devices Blaster, and entered someone else's mission that was already about half complete. I thought the issue was resolved as it never happened to me since.

No thank you. As @Eva Destruction pointed out, consolidated servers means people losing character names, SGs, and bases. In addition to that, you'll lose the feeling of community that the various servers have started forming. Not to mention "Rikti mothership raid forming?" "Where? RWZ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11?" "Hamidon raid forming?" "Where? The Hive 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11?" With multiple concurrent mothership and Hamidon raids.

Back around Issue 4, I had a Rad/Dark Blast Defender. I went into the Hollows. Someone was broadcasting that they needed a Defender, (in retrospect, that was the first warning sign.) I sent the person a tell and they invited me to the team. We got to the mission, I did my thing, blasting away and using Radiating Aura, AM, etc. I thought we were doing relatively well. About five minutes later, I was booted with no warning. Then the leader sent me a tell, saying that they needed a healer, not "whatever you are." Then there were the jerks who would TP teammates off of rooftops in the Hollows. To this day, I generally avoid the Hollows. Flashbacks, man.

Yep, I leveled that way as well, almost completely solo. It was a bit of a long haul, but the various attack temp powers like Blackwand and Sands of Mu helped a lot. Plus, Irridated Ground is a sort of attack as well. Yes, Atom Smasher can be used while flying/hovering, but as you said you have to be fairly close to ground.

Negative, Ghost Rider. You can just have two (or even all), Interface powers and switch them out as desired. Besides, it's good to have two Interfaces as they stop being effective if more than four people on a team or league use the same Interface power. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

Here's my Radiation Melee/Radiation Armor Brute build. It is soft-capped to melee, and IIRC S/L as well. All of the resistances are 70%+ for everything but Cold and Psi as well. It's a very effective beast. Issue 22 added a level 20 - 24 blue side short story arc, "Collateral Damage," given by Laura Lockhart. If you run it a second time in Ouro (it doesn't matter how you run it the first time, regular or Ouro), there's a new glowie crate in the first mission. Open it, and read the clue it gives you. That sets you on a different path for the second run, and it gives the "Guardian of Forever" badge.

Effective is nice, but the important things are that you aren't an active detriment to your team (which I can't see how), and that you enjoy it. If both are met, then that's all that matters!
