  1. The only Incarnate ability that doesn't work on Masterminds is Hybrid. Everything else works just fine. Even Hybrid about 25% works, you just have to go Support Core.
  2. If it's so terrible, why do you have so many FF alts? Did, before sunset. I was just used to it as I played it from Issue 3 through 23. Don't now, I use Sonic Resonance instead.
  3. Yeah. I really hate it, because I had a level 50 Force Field/Dark Blast Defender, a level 50 Force Field/Fire Blast Defender, a level 50 Gravity/Force Field Controller, a level 50 Robots/Force Field Mastermind, and a level 50 Thugs/Force Field Mastermind before, all but the Controller all +3 Incarnated out, but, honestly, there's nothing Force Field can do that Cold and Time can't do better, especially as a Defender. My Force Field Defenders could add 38% extra defense to teams, but everyone I teamed with already had softcapped defenses on their own so it was pointless. Knockback? Everyone hates knockback. Pointless. The one and only thing my FF Defenders were good for were Rikti Mothership Raids, and honestly Sonic Resonance would be better there. Force Field needs a hard revamp, badly. Regardless, I plan to make Dark Blast/Force Field Corruptor and a Water Blast/Force Field Corruptor at some point, but they will be strictly solo toons as they would bring nothing to teams.
  4. Well, the .NET Framework 3.5 was released way back in 2007, if I understand the previous body of work correctly this change is still bringing the code up to a > 10 yr old standard for .net applications. I'm not sure which way forward would be better for the user base. .Net 3.5 goes back to Windows XP. .Net 3.5.1 was included Windows 7. .Net 4.5 was included in Windows 8, Windows 2012, Windows 2012R2. .Net 4.6 is included on Windows 10. More info (and any mistranslated/quoted data) at https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/astebner/2007/03/14/mailbag-what-version-of-the-net-framework-is-included-in-what-version-of-the-os/ It may be that you're using a newer OS, so moving up to 3.5 requires installing an older framework than you already have. Whereas the even older one may have been present from installing other programs that used it already. So we could move forward to .Net 4.5 bringing us up to many newer features and capabilities in the code but possibly making a certain portion of users have to install 4.5, others already have it. We could move forward to .Net 4.6 bringing more, but making another portion of users have to install, with others already having that. 4.7 may be a different beast. It hasn't come with a windows release, but has come in many Windows 10 updates. Somewhere in 4.7 or .Net Core they switched to not requiring a framework install any longer. The installers/deploys come with all the necessary libraries. Since we have no telemetry/tracking in the software (and no where that could even capture that info). ------ Begin opinion and speculation on the path forward: We will likely move as the codebase drives us. These are my personal thoughts on the matter and do not reflect any discussion or agreement with Pine. I intend to always put his input first on decisions of this nature(barring a schism that many partnerships/companies/relationships sometimes exhibit). Considering Windows 7 is a dead OS walking, and that .NET 5.0 is on track and incompatible with earlier stuff, best to just jump to .NET 4.8 IMO. That way it will stay supported for a bit, longer than .NET 3.5 or 4.5 at any rate.
  5. I'm not even going to worry about Hybrid from this point forward. Support gives an endurance discount, but I already have a tier 4 Cardiac Core Alpha slotted so it's a bit worthless.
  6. I did a lot of reading in the old blue Mastermind board. Melee Hybrid - only applies to the PC, not the pets. Working as intended. (Don't ask me.) Assault and Control Hybrids - are supposed to apply to the PC and the pets, but are bugged so that they only apply to the pets if you use the toggle first before summoning the pets. Should a pet die, then the pet only gets the buffs from Hybrid if you wait until after you use the toggle before respawning the pet. Now this may have been fixed between 2012 and 2019 mind you. Support Hybrid - applies to both the PC and the pets. It looks like the only consistently viable Hybrid option for Masterminds is Support if the Assault and Control Hybrids bug hasn't been fixed.
  7. Which is better, in general, for consistent status protection for Blasters, Corruptors, et al?
  8. They settled on a package yet? Invision Community Suite.
  9. If you plan to do endgame stuff and you must go Force Field, go Corruptor or Controller. There's no point at all to a Force Field Defender in endgame, simply because at level 50 most people have softcapped defense anyway. And I say that as someone that mained a Force Field/Fire Blast Defender for over two years. I was able to provide a 38% extra defense to everyone, but since everyone was softcapped anyway, it was mostly a waste. Your primary will be of much more value.
  10. I have a third tier Melee Core Hybrid, but it doesn't seem to interact with my pets at all. I've been checking their combat attributes in and out of combat, and nothing.
  11. Only if you use a Windows 10 VM.
  12. Also, looking at it further, your build is too resist heavy, IMO. MMs have the least amount of HPs in the game. Resist is great, but not getting hit at all is better as you can't really take the hits. My build, with Hover on, is softcapped to S/L/E, and with high S/L resists as well.
  13. Honestly, I wouldn't take more than one attack, because if you're playing it right, you'll be too busy micromanaging your pets and trying to keep your danged arsonist from committing suicide. Your pets, Gang War, and Judgement are your attacks. I have a level 50 Thugs/Sonic MM that's been my main character for the past five weeks, and I love it. My build is somewhat expensive, but the MM is a danged tank. It's virtually unkillable, and the arsonist is actually somewhat survivable! 14. Probably because they're red side. Each week gets a hero TF and a villain SF. Unless they're co-op, like the ITF.
  15. It's definitely not an out-level problem. I specifically disable XP at levels 9, 14, 19, 24, 29, etc., and I never got those contacts either. It's annoying.
  16. Most of what is on Paragon Wiki is current, but it will not be updated to reflect the Issue 25+ changes, and there is no Homecoming wiki.
  17. I'm pretty sure that's actually Windows 98 SE, as that was the consumer version of Windows available at the time Cryptic began development on CoH.
  18. That would most likely require a source code change, which no one has. Honestly, Pine's as it stands probably needs to be re-written for .NET 4.8. Mega downloads only seems to work in Google Chrome. I couldn't get it to work in Mozilla Firefox either. I put it up here for those that don't use Google Chrome.
  19. You're beating a dead horse. I entirely agree with you. Sadly, unfortunately, the majority don't. Which is why in gamer communities forums are dead and Discord thrives. It's annoying at best, I know. But it is what it is.
  20. Wait, really?!? It could possibly work in a modern wrapper. Yeah, it was called Meek Hero Planner, but it is no longer in the App Store since it is no longer compatible.
  21. There was one for iOS back in ye olden days, but it hasn't been updated since around 2011 and will no longer work on modern iOS versions.
  22. Google started that annoying trend with Gmail. Before Gmail went into beta in 2004, quotes were on top as God intended.
  23. When in doubt, always go Corruptor. Your increased damage will usually more than make up for the small difference in the secondary.
  24. FWIW, as someone who owned and administrated an IPS forum for a few years, and someone who currently admins two Xenforo forums, go Xenforo all the way. IPS is clearly designed to be hosted on their servers, and if you do use their servers good luck getting direct access to the forums database if you want it or need it. Xenforo is more straightforward and friendly.
  25. Yeah. As someone who had five level 50 Force Field characters before sunset (Defenders and Masterminds), Force Field is overshadowed these days by Cold Domination, Sonic Resonance, and Time Manipulation.
