Dispersion Bubble's mez protection is actually stronger on Corruptor than Defender, and being that there are plenty more sources of +defense compared to AoE mez protection, that tips the scale in favor of Corruptor IMO.

All of my characters have both Fly and either Speed of Sound (Brutes and Tankers), or Super Speed (every other AT). I use Fly outdoors, and Speed of Sound or Super Speed indoors. It's just very efficient to move around mission maps with. Although the stealth argument for Super Speed will have less going for it once Page Three lands and mobs in hard mode can see everyone using Super Speed and a +stealth IO enhancement, but that's only one SF ATM. I know some people think I'm crazy for taking both Speed of Sound or Super Speed and Fly and should just use a jetpack, but IMO they haven't experienced the difference between using Fly and Hover or Fly and Evasive Maneuvers, and a jetpack. It's like night and day. About 30 MPH faster now, with much greater control. Like the difference between driving a Chevy and driving an Audi. I'll take the Audi every day.

General Feedback: Issue 27, Page 3
Apparition replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The only possible places I can see P2W amplifiers "needed" for leveling are in First Ward and Night Ward, especially if you're crazy enough to solo them on a Defender or a Blaster like I am. Those two zones are pretty rough. But, I'll just save up the extra INF for my next trip through Praetoria. -
Welcome to what has been the status quo in the United States since 2017. In the States, new Star Trek has never been on Netflix, it has been exclusively on Paramount+. Amazon Prime Video: Very little of quality on the service IMO, but I get it as part of Amazon Prime. Apple TV+: It is easily one of the best video streaming services IMO, with quality television shows such as For All Mankind, Foundation, and Mythic Quest, and quality movies. CuriosityStream: Good quality science and technology documentaries, and cheap. Disney+: Marvel and Star Wars. 'Nuff said. HBO Max: Another one of the best video streaming services IMO, with a lot of quality television shows such as Babylon 5 and Superman: The Animated Series, and a lot of quality movies. Hulu with Live TV: I pay for it, but this is exclusively for my elderly parents that I live with. They cannot fathom anything other than live television, which I personally have not watched since 2012. I've tried breaking them into the various video streaming services, but after a couple of years, it just didn't hold. Paramount+: Star Trek, 'nuff said. It now has every single Star Trek show ever made (including The Animated Series), and all of the films. I don't watch any of the newer stuff (as far as I'm concerned, Star Trek died in 2016), but it's nice to have everything made from 1966 through 2016 in one place. Peacock: Another that I pay for, but this is exclusively for my elderly parents that I live with. They like their wrasslin', and Peacock is now the exclusive home of the WWE. YouTube Premium: I like to watch YouTube on my television, and I hate commercials. If it were up to me and I wasn't subscribed to Amazon Prime, I'd keep Apple TV+, CuriosityStream, Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, and YouTube Premium. Maybe regular Hulu without the live TV. Maybe.

General Feedback: Issue 27, Page 3
Apparition replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Exactly. I think that most people who want amplifiers removed, or no longer available at a certain level, don't quite realize exactly how much of an INF sink they are and how much prices of everything would go up as a result. -
You can, otherwise I would never be able to start a blue side TF. 😛

So, important question about the forums update: Are there forum PvP badges?
-
A "compromise" idea for the Master badges (not that I think it's needed), would be to allow the Alpha Incarnate but disable all of the other Incarnates if possible? Just throwing that out there. Again, I think it's fine as is on beta, but I'm seeing a lot of grumbling.

Focused Feedback: Dr. Aeon Strike Force
Apparition replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
There is one issue with Mr. Rodney being phased out. He has cape and aura missions that go to level 50. If you have not done them prior to completing the ASF, you can no longer do so naturally. Now I realize that few people run the cape and aura missions, and that they’re still available via Ouroboros Flashback, but it’s still an issue for those who like to do everything “naturally.” -
Poll: Master of Eden, Hydra & Market Crash badges
Apparition replied to Faultline's topic in Open Beta Testing
It can also be started at level 40, so probably, yes. -
Oh, I know that it isn't true. You are absolutely 100% correct. I'm just seeing talk from some very good players that I know that it is required and have already been excluded from one beta run because of it, and it's giving me bad flashbacks to live of being excluded from the LRSF in general when I know it can be done without nukes and shivans. But okie, I guess I'll just have to lead whenever I want to do it. Thanks!

Poll: Master of Eden, Hydra & Market Crash badges
Apparition replied to Faultline's topic in Open Beta Testing
A new Master badge may tempt people to run it more often, though it may be painful for a while. -
In regards to the LRSF Flashback, the "Old School Challenge" badge in particular: I'm seeing talk from a few different people that once Page Three goes live, all "Old School Challenge" badge runs they do will require everyone on the team to have both nukes and Shivans. Now I'll be blunt: I absolutely abhor PvP. I will not enter a PvP zone for any reason whatsoever. Back on live, I primarily played red side and my characters went without the Marshal and Born in Battle accolades until the Going Rogue expansion. I was also excluded from a lot of LRSF runs simply because of my refusal to enter PvP zones. I realize that this is a long shot, but since quite a few appear to believe that PvP content is absolutely necessary for PvE content, would it be possible to make PvE equivalent temporary powers to nukes and Shivans? Worse comes to worst, I'll have to form and run my own "Old School Challenge" badge runs sans nukes and Shivans just like I had to form and run my own LRSFs back on live, but it'd be nice if I (and I'm sure others), weren't excluded from PvE content simply because of our refusal to engage in PvP content. But unless PvE versions are made available, I see exactly that occuring.

The problem is that any solution would be one size fits all… veterans and newbies alike. I know that many people try to bury their heads in the sand and claim that everything is fine, but there is a serious issue with newbies being introduced to the game via AE farming and PI Council radio farms. They get to level 50… and don’t have the faintest clue of how to actually play the game. It’s one of the main reasons why I left the Excelsior shard. Just way too many AE/PI Council radio babies on that shard. I mean, I have literally encountered level 30+ PCs who had no idea how to get from Atlas Park to Talos Island. I wish I was joking. Others think that TFs are just more colorful, varied radio missions and leave halfway through without saying a word. It’s just bad. Something like the OP’s suggestion would just exasperate the issue.

Focused Feedback: Dr. Aeon Strike Force
Apparition replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Voice chat is far, far from mandatory. So far, I have been on two successful Relentless runs in the past two days without voice chat. Then again, I have also been on successful The Really Hard Way runs without voice chat. Absolutely nothing in City of Heroes requires voice chat. Nothing. That was from last night. We fought all of the optional AVs. No voice chat was used. Heck, we didn’t even have a Tanker nor a Brute. -
It’s been that way since Cold was ported to Defenders and Controllers from Corruptors. Corruptors had the full Defender-ish values because it was the only AT with Cold. When it was ported to Defenders, the values were left the same. It’s a bit of a conundrum because technically, the Defender value is correct while the other ATs are too high. But then you would be nerfing a power set on the AT it originated on, and honk off some people that are red side for life.

Focused Feedback: Dr. Aeon Strike Force
Apparition replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I'm seeing the length of the Dr. Aeon SF being complained about quite a bit from others I know. But, I'm sure it will get faster as people learn strategies and get more efficient with it. That said, I wouldn't use Hamidon raids as a baseline to compare with, because Hamidon raids are far too easily farmed as is and is a serious issue, IMO. When you can do a Hamidon raid for 80 reward merits in five minutes (not counting time forming), compared to live when it took quite a bit longer, that's an issue. -

I can confirm that there is no Incarnate reward table, only the standard reward table with merits or D-Sync. -
I'll admit. Every character I start out red side, immediately after the tutorial, I train up to level 2, and head to Sharkhead Isle to see what broker the character gets. If I get Kara the Scorpion, great. I head back to Mercy Island, talk with Kalinda, and off I go. On the other hand, if it's Mickey the Filtch, I reroll the character and try again for Kara the Scorpion. So this is a nice change. Thank you.

Faultline let me know on Discord that he found the root cause of the issue and is working on a fix. Thank you again!

Over two years later, this is still bugged. Curiously enough, it only impacts the Neutropolis Crusader story arcs. Crusader story arcs in Nova Praetoria and Imperial City are fine. For completeness' sake in case there's something particular: My character is a level 30 Praetorian Loyalist. I did all of the Loyalist Responsibility, Loyalist Power, and Resistance Warden story arcs naturally while leveling, (with XP disabled most of the time). I then went onto and completed First Ward. Before moving onto Night Ward, I decided to do the Resistance Crusader story arcs via Ouroboros Flashback. As I said, Crusader story arcs in Nova Praetoria and Imperial City? Fine. However, when running any of the Crusader story arcs in Neutropolis, I cannot access the Resistance hub in Neutropolis. Curiously, I can however use the Resistance exit back up to Neutropolis. The only way to continue on with the Neutropolis Resistance Crusader story arcs is to go back to my SG base, click on the Pillar of Ice & Flame, and use that to teleport back to my contact. So there is a work around, but it's not intuitive at all and I'm sure it's a show stopper for many. I realize that anything gold side is very likely a low priority because, I mean, who goes to gold side anyway? Still, I would like to see this bug fixed (along with all of the other bugs in Neutropolis), at some point.

I'm going to make my very first VEAT character soon, a Widow. Question: Alan Desslock. Are all of his missions doable at level 50? I see some are level one, level five, level 30, level 35, etc. If I were to power level a Widow to say... level 25, would I be able to do the level five mission naturally? I also see that there are a Brick Johnson and Fortunata Hamlilton as VEAT-only contacts. Are there any other VEAT-only contacts? Just trying to know what I'm in for, story wise, and plan accordingly.

I really like Energy Aura, but it has a psionic damage hole and there is a lot of psionic damage in the last half of First Ward, and you get to fight four EBs simultaneously in Night Ward with a ton of psionic damage.

Only for people who won't learn how to play Blasters.
