  1. Jingle All the Way
  2. @Herah, it's the Knives of Vengeance Radial Lore pets. They give an AoE buff that provides +teleport "protection," so anyone near the Knives of Vengeance Lore pets is automatically blocked from being teleported by anyone, friend or foe. It's been reported numerous times over the past two years, but it seems to be WAI. And beaten by @TheZag as I'm writing this. :D
  3. Look at my character's level and alignment. Now look at the active contacts. There's no way I can run Calvin Scott's missions, and yet that character is still locked into his story arc. Someone told me that Calvin Scott will be cleared out of my contacts list and I will no longer be locked into his story arc if/when I leave Praetoria. But I'm not doing that until around level 35, as I want to go through First Ward and Night Ward. And I don't want to take the chance of doing all that, only to discover that I can't leave Praetoria if I have an unfinished story arc or something. So it looks like I'm going to have to delete this character as well. *Sigh.* All that time and about 100 million INF down the drain.
  4. Heh. Probably in a few months. Doing all Praetorian content (even with skipping the Resistance Crusader story arcs), is a lot. I realized going in that this was a chance due to my previous encounters with the buggy Calvin Scott, but I'm still a bit disappointed that yet another attempt to play in Praetoria met a brick wall in Neutropolis. (I think this will be my fifth Praetorian character on Homecoming I delete after encountering a show stopper in Neutropolis due to bugs with Calvin Scott and Provost Marchand.)
  5. I know. I even put that in my guide on the Homecoming Wiki. My point still stands though that most people wouldn’t know to do that unless they read the forum or go to the Wiki. Much more importantly though, you automatically get locked into Calvin Scott’s mission arc as soon as you go to Neutropolis, even if you haven’t done any of the other Resistance Crusaders story arcs. I tried a slightly different variation of my Praetorian content guide. I’m doing all of the Loyalist Responsibility story arcs, all of the Loyalist Power story arcs, all of the Resistance Warden story arcs, but skipping all of the Resistance Crusader story arcs. However, as soon as I reached Neutropolis last night, not only did Calvin Scott not offer to introduce me to Aaron Walker, but he also locked me into his own Resistance Crusader story arc. My contacts list shows the open book with a bookmark icon under Calvin Scott’s name even though I haven’t selected nor done any of his missions other than the Resistance Warden introduction missions. So I am probably going to have to delete that character now, since story arcs can’t be abandoned.
  6. Yeah. There are a couple of big issues in Praetoria, and they are both in Neutropolis. This is the bigger of the two. The other is that Provost Marchand stops talking to you at level nineteen, even though the zone cap is level nineteen. But that one can be fixed by turning off XP at level eighteen. The issues with Calvin Scott are deeper and require some sort of fix by developers.
  7. Problem: If you have Calvin Scott as a contact in Praetoria (which is likely, if you're Resistance or have switched alignment to Resistance at any point), if you do any of his introduction missions to other Resistance contacts, he bugs out when you reach Neutropolis. Calvin Scott will not offer Aaron Walker as a contact. If someone doesn't know to ask on the forums or look at the Homecoming Wiki, he or she may never know that there's a line of Resistance Warden story arcs in Neutropolis. Even worse (IMO), even if you've never done a single Resistance Crusader story arc before and have only done the Warden story arcs, Calvin Scott will lock you into his story arc once you reach Neutropolis. Solution: This problem is obviously due to Calvin Scott being the Resistance point of contact in Praetoria, as well as having his own story arc. So remove Calvin Scott as the Resistance point of contact. Switch him out with someone else from the Precinct Five tutorial on up through Neutropolis. Leave Calvin Scott in Underground Neutropolis and offer his own story arc of course. Just have someone else introduce players to Resistance contacts. I realize that this is a big ask and a big change to Praetoria, but IMO it's necessary as he is buggy as Heck once you reach Neutropolis, and I really, really, really don't like that he locks you into his story arc once you reach Neutropolis, even if you've never done any of the Resistance Crusader story arcs.
  8. Dark Blast wants you at range. Like Uun said, Dark Manipulation is a blapper secondary that wants you in melee. While a nice combination thematically, they are at odds in game mechanics. If you want Dark Blast, I would recommend Devices, Energy Manipulation, Tactical Arrow, or Temporal Manipulation instead. If you want Dark Manipulation, I would recommend Dual Pistols, Fire Blast, or Radiation Blast instead.
  9. Would there be any possibility of Praetorian versions of the Signature Summon T4V temporary powers? That is just slightly immersion breaking. 😛
  10. Two and a half years later, Homecoming is still the only server that utilizes 64 bit, both server side and client side. 'Nuff said, really.
  11. You won't be able to play the game on a Chromebook. Right now, Homecoming officially supports Microsoft Windows, macOS, and unofficially supports Linux. See this thread -
  12. No. Only via Ouroboros Flashback.
  13. Quite a few people complained that the GM Black Whip was too difficult for a holiday event, especially for people who do the holiday event for badges on several characters.
  14. Issues 0 and 1 blue side contacts have a lot of duplication, with your origin determining which contact you receive. You'll never be able to get all blue side contacts. But, you won't miss much, because as I said, they're duplicates.
  15. I updated my guide on the wiki listing optional content, per a suggestion I received.
  16. After a lot of testing by myself and a couple of others, this doesn't seem to be patch related. Something else is going on. Three others tried using LFG multiple times. Two had no issues, and one received the same error message as myself. Strangely, out of curiosity, I logged on this morning and used LFG several times, bouncing around zones... and no error message. I don't know. In any case, it's no big deal as even when I did receive the error message, I was still able to use LFG.
  17. When using the LFG to queue for something with the "Lock the event for your group" option selected, whether it's to enter the instanced Rikti mothership raid solo, or for fast travel to the ITF or Operative Renault SF, I'm now getting the following error message with today's patch: However, it will still let me queue/fast travel.
  18. That's Ouroboros Flashback, not AE. Yeah, that's a long standing known bug. You all need to be hero or vigilante alignment to run hero side Ouroboros Flashback story arcs, and villain or rogue alignment to run villain side Ouroboros Flashback story arcs.
  19. Uhhh... I definitely would not call Brute and Mastermind "overpowered," and I definitely would not call Defender and Tanker "underpowered." Brutes and MMs are undesirable in high end team content. Defenders are arguably overpowered, and Tankers are definitely overpowered.
  20. Five months late, but here it is: Apparition's Complete Guide to Praetoria. I really hope that someone finds it helpful. If you follow that to the letter, you should avoid encountering the annoying bugs I did in the first few posts of this thread and have a smooth ride in Praetoria.
  21. Sonic Manipulation Blaster. It’s a great combination with a lot of synergy. Sonic is a blappy set, and Dual Pistols wants to be in melee range anyhoo. The Disruption Aura helps alleviate all of the lethal damage resistance as well. There’s also Time Manipulation Corruptor. Another great combination with a lot of synergy. They both like to be in melee range.
  22. Absolutely not. Defenders already do too much damage as it is. If you want to play an offending Defender, make a Corruptor instead.
  23. Some people are incapable of realizing that City of Heroes is not like any other MMOG. It's not World of Warcraft, it's not The Lord of the Rings Online, it's not Final Fantasy XIV. It's City of Heroes. They will play CoH and attempt to play it like a WoW-clone, struggle, give up, and ultimately move on. It happened A LOT the first few months of Homecoming. So, so many completely and utterly clueless level 50 Empathy Defenders with only the tier one from their secondary and the full Medicine power pool. They tried to play CoH like a WoW-clone, struggled, were completely incapable of realizing that CoH is not a WoW-clone, gave up, and ultimately moved on. I see the same thing happening here.
  24. IIRC, you play on the Indomitable shard, where iTrials are formed in Pocket D. On Excelsior (which has about six times the population of Indomitable), where iTrials are formed in Ouroboros, it's quite bad. People zone into Ouroboros for iTrials, and then don't move at all, making access to the Ouroboros exit extremely difficult. Sometimes, I would literally have to fly up and reach the exit from the top above everyone as getting to it from the ground was almost impossible. Thankfully, I moved to the Torchbearer shard several months ago, where the majority of iTrials are formed in Pocket D and Dark Astoria. Occasionally, one is formed in Ouroboros, but due to the smaller shard population it isn't an issue. Still, this definitely needs to be fixed for Excelsior and Everlasting.
