Oh, I realize that it has about a 0.001% chance of implementation. Just that the chance is a flat 0% if I don't ask. As far as healing... it's not great, but it has its uses, and for some reason I see guns being used for healing and buffs instead of primarily debuffs like Trick Arrow. Besides, heals and buffs allow for you to shoot your teammates.

Archery has Trick Arrow, why not give Dual Pistols a Dual Pistols heal/buff support set? Load your pistols with serum injections that heal or buff your team mates. Someone low on HPs? Shoot him or her with a healing injection. Someone low on endurance? Shoot him or her with a +recovery injection. Mostly I want a support set that lets me shoot my teammates.

Yeah, there are a lot of reports on Discord of Reunion being down ATM. I'm sure they'll get it up ASAP.

Personally, I would never play a resistance based armor set like Radiation Armor on a Scrapper nor a Stalker, only a Brute or Tanker. You'd intentionally hobble the strength of the armor set, its resistance, with the 75% resistance cap on Scrappers and Stalkers compared to the 90% resistance cap on Brutes and Tankers. To each his or her own though.

Remove Architect Entertainment locations from starting zones
Apparition replied to Arli's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's not about restricting access to AE. There are sixteen other zones besides Atlas Park and Mercy Island with AE buildings, nothing would prevent anyone from using AE in those other zones. It's about preventing AE from being the first thing newbies to the game are exposed to. When a newbie first lands in Atlas Park, he or she is immediately inundated with people broadcasting: "Farm forming in AE. Free levels! Come join!" Why would someone new to the game not join that? He or she doesn't know that it's a terrible first game experience. There's nothing telling them that that isn't how you play the game, or that newbies shouldn't join. Indeed, many farmers entice newbies to join, thinking that they're doing the newbies a favor when in actuality they're doing a great harm. If you limit AE to those sixteen other zones, at least a new player would have to know how to get to another zone to use it. I think that many veterans to the game don't realize exactly how much damage AE has done to people that are new to the game and warped the newbies' perceptions of it. -
Remove Architect Entertainment locations from starting zones

Considering that's quite literally the vast majority of all AE content... -
There's VidiotMap updates in the Tools section of the forums which includes the three spawn locations. As soon as I see the alert message, I stop doing whatever I'm doing if I'm solo, head to KR, fly to the three spawn locations until I get to the right one, and start attacking the Paladin construction, which slows down the timer. It's only five minutes between start of construction and spawn if no one intervenes. If you start attacking the Paladin construction, that will give you enough time to recruit for it in the meanwhile.

I exaggerate a bit. Disruption Aura in Sonic Manipulation is a toggle which has a -res debuff aura, which pretty much acts like a taunt aura. Atomic Manipulation's Beta Decay is similar.

Alpha: Usually Agility Radial. Musculature Radial once in a while. Interface: I always take both Degenerative Core and Reactive Radial. Judgment: Always Ion Core. Destiny: I always take Clarion Core, Incandescence Radial, and Rebirth Radial. Some characters also have Ageless Core or Ageless Radial, depending on build. Yep, all of my characters have three or four tier four Destiny abilities once “complete.” I never take Barrier as I largely consider it a waste between inspirations and team buffs. Lore: Blasters, Brutes, and Stalkers take Longbow Radial. Farmers take Knives of Vengeance Radial. Every other AT takes Longbow Core. Hybrid: Blasters and Stalkers take Assault Core. Masterminds take Support Core. Corruptors take both Assault Radial for soloing and Support Radial for teaming. Brutes and Tankers take Assault Radial.

There are a lot of people (either people who played City of Heroes back in 2004 - 2006 or so, quit, and then came back for Homecoming, or those who are veterans of WoW and/or WoW-clones), who have this "trinity" style gameplay in their head, and desire it. They don't understand that that no longer exists in City of Heroes, and never will again. They especially don't know what to make of red side origin ATs like Corruptors, Dominators, and Masterminds because they can't be easily pigeonholed like most blue side ATs. But they don't get today's Blasters either. Anyone who still says in 2021 that Blasters are "squishy" has no idea of what they're talking about and either never did, or are stuck back in 2006. I've tanked many TFs and SFs on Blasters, even sometimes when we already had a Brute or Tanker. Heck, my newest Blaster project even has a taunt aura.

I almost always go with Longbow. Big red mech for the win. On my farmers though, I go with Knives of Vengeance. None of my characters used Banished Pantheon anymore because A. I'm sick of looking at 'em, and B. they're still too good and probably due for another nerf at some point.

You can't add any echo zones as base teleports.

You're never going to make everyone happy as leader. People will very rarely read your entire message on the LFG channel. I led Rikti mothership raids for years on the Champion and Exalted servers prior to sunset, and now lead instanced Rikti mothership raids on the Torchbearer and Excelsior shards. To me, instanced mothership raids are better than zone mothership raids in every single possible way. I haven't done a zone mothership raid since September 2019, and will never do one again. It would be like going back to driving a Chevy after nearly two years of driving an Audi, IMO. I form instanced mothership raids from inside the instance itself. There's nowhere for anyone else to go. I just directly invite other people to the instance, no matter where they are in the game. Here's how I advertise on the LFG channel and various global channels: "Instanced MSR forming! You must be level 35+ and have the Member of Vanguard badge. 100 million INF kill shot prize on the drop ship! Send me a tell for an invite." Yet, half the time, especially on Excelsior, I'll receive tells from people saying things like: "I'm OMW!" or "I'm in the RWZ and I don't see you." or "Why do I need to be level 35+/have the Member of Vanguard badge? I've done it plenty of times at level two before/never needed the badge before." Some people will try to argue with me over my running it instanced instead of in the zone, or argue that they don't really need the Member of Vanguard badge to join and that I'm just pulling that out of my butt. (Yes, you really do need the badge.) The best are those who try to argue with me that I'm "gatekeeping" by running the instanced MSR instead of the zone, which is why I made a character named "Gatekeeping App" as a joke. Then sometimes after people join, they'll tell me that there were a lot of people in the RWZ looking for a mothership raid there. I advertise that it's instanced, level 35+, requires the Member of Vanguard badge, and advertise that people need to send me a tell. Nothing more that I can really do. My point is, run whatever you feel like, in the way that you feel most comfortable doing so, and stick to your guns. You won't make everyone happy, that's not possible. Just shrug off people who are rude or obnoxious, and those who complain as water off your back. As long as you're not being rude or obnoxious yourself and are doing what makes you happy, that's all that matters.

I have noticed that the overall population on both Torchbearer and Excelsior has been down quite a bit over the past few weeks. I am sure vacations while lockdowns are lifted is a big part of it.

Yeah, I've experienced this before. It's quite annoying. -
If City of Heroes were remade entirely today...
Apparition replied to Thrythlind's topic in General Discussion
In addition to updated graphics, I would primarily like grappling, wall crawling, motorcycle riding, and car driving as travel power options. -

A Corruptor or Controller not using his or her primary is effectively a second class Defender, and would be better off as Defenders. A Mastermind not using his or her primary is effectively a second class Corruptor or Controller, and would be better off as Defenders. Plainguy plays petless Masterminds. That's great. But he effectively chose to shoot himself in the foot and then tie one arm behind his back, and wants the Mastermind AT balanced to make that equal to the other ATs. It doesn't work that way. You have to look at the whole picture to properly balance an AT, and as a whole, the Mastermind is a pet AT.

Are you using Tequila, Cream Soda, or Sweet Tea as your launcher? If so, do you have an additional server installed in addition to Homecoming? In any case, I'd suggest revalidating your files.

Redside DFBs and low level Redside support. (Not much)
Apparition replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Safeguard and Mayhem missions, yes. See here and here. Between that and Ouroboros Flashback, that's why I no longer see a point in leveling the old fashioned way for me since I only run story arcs solo anyhoo. -
Redside DFBs and low level Redside support. (Not much)
Apparition replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Aye, go rogue alignment. If you want strictly red side, run the Lord Recluse Strike Force several times, and/or run the Vindication story arc from Abyss several times. Just the fourth blue side WWD SSA is by far the quickest, most expedient way towards the badge. -
Doctor Who RPG 2E Announced
Apparition replied to Apparition's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
The collector's edition has been announced, and it looks beautiful. I've been mostly buying books digitally the past several years to conserve physical bookshelf space, but I'm definitely making an exception here. Well, for one, you can play one of the fourteen Doctors if you wish, or you could play another Time Lord of your own making, among other choices. You even get to make your own TARDIS.- 8 replies

Redside DFBs and low level Redside support. (Not much)
Apparition replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
The most optimal route is to run Part Four of the Who Will Die? SSA in Brickstown at x3 to get the Bloody Hands badge, (I run it at x4, but x3 should be sufficient). That will unlock Lord Schweinzer in Port Oakes, who will make all mayhem missions available to you, (assuming you're high enough level for the mayhem mission you want to run).
