  1. Yeah, but from what I understand, villain side on DCUO has about a third of the population. On Homecoming, it's about 20%. On Excelsior, it's about 10%.
  2. Found the powers in CoD here. What's odd though is that if I'm reading correctly, he has mag -10,000 knockback/knockup protection. This bug also apparently only applies to the Lanaru Aspect of Rularuu, since that's the one that uses Hurricane.
  3. Just FYI, CoD is broken today on both Brave Browser on Windows and Brave Browser on iPadOS. It worked last night just fine. It looks like that on both Windows and iPadOS.
  4. Apparently this has been going on since the start of Homecoming but has never been reported in Bug Reports, so here we go. In the Cathedral of Pain Trial, the Lanaru Aspect of Rularuu does nothing but constantly flip himself over and over. It’s like he constantly applies knockback to himself and flips over instead, since he flies. You can even see it in the cutscene. I tried looking in CoD for a list of his powers to see if the self-knockback is obvious somewhere, but my CoD-fu failed me. Any ideas, @UberGuy and @Captain Powerhouse ?
  5. Between levels 35 to 45, in addition to the ITF you have the Admiral Sutter TF, Numina TF, Mortimer Kal SF, Ice Mistral SF, Eden Trial, Abandoned Sewers Trial, four respec trials, Dr. Quaterfield TF, and Sara Moore TF. That is twelve alternative TFs/SFs/trials to the ITF in that level range.
  6. Last night, two friends of mine and I ran the old Maria Jenkins story arc "A Hero's Hero" via Ouroboros Flashback. We were all vigilante alignment. I double checked before we started. Team Transport was used while in Ouroboros to take us to the first mission, which worked with no problem. In the "A Hero's Hero" story arc, there's a mission called "Rescue People from Their Shadows," which is a transit mission. Team Transport works for transit missions. I've even used Team Transport to take us to this particular mission before as I run this story arc fairly frequently for the Portal Jockey accolade. However, this time: "You cannot enter the mission while on a team containing heroes and villain." Except we were all vigilante alignment, and in a blue side zone. In this case, Peregrine Island. I checked for a third time after receiving that error message. I don't even think we could start a blue side Flashback story arc if we weren't all either Hero or Vigilante alignment, although I may be mistaken on that. In either case, this was definitely a bug as all three of us were all the same alignment.
  7. No, and they are not the only form of game progression. However, they are one of the forms of game progression and an important one. Also, the belief that City of Heroes is naturally progressing towards a largely level less experience with “personal agency” doesn’t jive with the facts that Paragon Studios added another form of endgame in 2010 and locked it all behind level 50 and, according to the various AMAs, planned to continue expanding with level 50 only content for years and years. I am sorry, but what you have been describing for the past two years is not City of Heroes. It’s some other game. It may be an interesting and even good game, but myself and a whole bunch of others signed up to Homecoming to play City of Heroes.
  8. Game progression is not gatekeeping. It's been the cornerstone of MMOGs since EverQuest in 1999, and is too fundamental to how City of Heroes works and has worked for seventeen years to fundamentally alter.
  9. No, but a lot are. Too many, IMO. Excelsior has earned the nickname Freedumb Redux for a reason. It’s why after nearly two years of playing exclusively on Excelsior, I set up shop on another shard two months ago.
  10. It's developed by a group of volunteers. I'm sure that if you'd like to contribute, they'll be happy to look over any patches you'd submit. You can find their code repository here.
  11. The worst is that some people honestly think that if you are advertising something red side (no matter what it is), that you must be running a patron badge mission arc because that is the only thing done red side. I am not making this up. Twice when I have advertised a LRSF on the LFG channel… “Speedy LRSF forming in Grandville, level 45+. *RED SIDE*. Room for X. Send me a tell if interested.”…. People messaged me asking if they could join my patron badge team. It made me so sad both times that there are people that absolutely clueless who have no idea what the LRSF is and believe that if you are advertising something red side, it must be a patron badge mission.
  12. You don't have to voice chat on Discord. You can use it for text-based chat, which there is plenty of on the Homecoming Discord. You'll find a lot of players on Discord that just won't use the forums for whatever reason.
  13. There's an extreme difference between risking failure, and a trap that gives you no chance at all.
  14. Not exactly. SCoRE eliminated invasions in Atlas Park and Mercy Island because level less mobs actually do have an internal level of 30. So AP and Mercy were declared safe zones for newbies.
  15. Considering that phasing causes a bunch of problems and I believe that the developers plan to remove it or at least work around it, and that Clockwork in AP, Skulls in KR, and Rikti in Founders' are all needed for the Numina TF...
  16. Empathy suffers the same problem as Force Field. Good at early to mid-game, bad at endgame. If you want a healing support set, I'd recommend Pain Domination instead. It has a lot of great buffs to go with its heals.
  17. You don't need to spend a billion INF to have a good build, and people using SOs or generic IOs at level 50 are a rarity. I know, because I look at people's builds and I'm always surprised when I come across one because of how rare it is. I think I've seen perhaps... two in the past six months? I agree, knockback can be great mitigation when done well. The problem is that the vast majority of the time, it is not done well. Having to restart a mission because someone used a knockback attack which knocked a mob into a wall on a defeat all mission is not my idea of a good time. Look, I get it. I want Force Field to be good. I played five Force Field characters on live. I soloed two Force Field Defenders on live from levels one through 50 with the XP off for the majority of the time. One was my main character with the Bug Hunter badge. I currently have a Water Blast/Force Field Corruptor at veteran level 100 with XP turned off. But the reality is, a team would be better off with nearly any other support set.
  18. Because by then, most people have started to slot IO enhancement sets and are getting to (or at level 50, have reached), softcap defenses on their own where Force Field's +defense is largely overkill. The only other tricks FF brings are +mez protection (nice, but then there's Sonic Resonance, Electrical Affinity, Trick Arrow, Clarion Destiny...), and... knockback. 'Nuff said about knockback.
  19. They're great for levels one through 34. 35+? No. If you plan on teaming at levels 35+ a lot, go with something else instead. Cold Domination, Time Manipulation, Dark Miasma...
  20. Darkness Affinity is great now that Fade is fixed. I really want to make a Gravity/Dark Controller. But I also know that I am a troll and the urge to take and regularly use Dimension Shift, Wormhole, and Black Hole on teams would be strong.
  21. Debuffs, minimal or no healing, and no micromanagement. You are looking for a Dark Miasma/Dark Affinity or Trick Arrow Corruptor, Defender, or Controller. Personally, I favor Corruptor because damage is king and the stronger support modifier on Defender is overkill.
  22. It is so sad seeing dead puppers litter mission doors.
  23. Less labor and competition for the villains, and the heroes get softened up in the process.
  24. Villains aren’t helping heroes. They’re using the saps… err… I mean heroes to help eliminate the competition from Rikti and Praetoria. Why do all of the hard labor when you can get the heroes to do it for you, and get softened up in the process?
  25. Gold side was originally intended as an alternative starting area but red side was clearly designed as a separate and equal faction, and remains so.
