Uh, no. Blasters do more damage than Scrappers, partly thanks to their greater AoE cap. There's a reason why on most of the heavy hitter speed run teams you see about four Blasters, one Scrapper, and three Corruptors.

I wasn’t sure where to put this, but Off-Topic seems like a good bet. Now that videos and streaming are once again allowed for Homecoming… how do you make a video in the first place? I would like to record (not stream, just record), a couple of tutorial videos and videos for bug reports and such. FWIW, I am currently running Windows 10 Pro. What software would you recommend?

Temp power - travel - void skiff, carpet, etc
Apparition replied to Ukase's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It was recently stated by the developer Faultline that the various flight temp powers put you in OAS because it would break a whole host of animations otherwise. Sorry. -
Just a reminder that the weekly scheduled MSR trial will launch in a little over two hours from now, y'all. You must be level 35+ and have the Member of Vanguard badge to participate. There will be a 100 million INF kill shot prize for the drop ship!

Homecoming Code of Conduct Update - May 13th, 2021
Apparition replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
Perhaps a new forum where people can share their YouTubes/Twitches/Mixers/whatever videos and streams would be advisable. -
I managed to get in touch with Redlynne. She said that she is done with Homecoming permanently (both the forums and the game) as of July 2020, and is now playing vanilla World of Warcraft. It doesn’t sound like she will be back.

I have never, ever used Form of the Soul. I have other things that handle endurance issues. I use either Form of the Body for the extra damage and -res on mobs, or Form of the Mind for the +recharge. In fact, I don't even have Form of the Soul on any of my power trays, but I do Form of the Body and Form of the Mind.

It’s dead, Jim.

Depends on the situation. I have a couple of friends that routinely Wormhole/Fold Space Rikti on the ramps during mothership raids to the bowl because people can’t stop themselves from fighting Rikti on the ramps no matter how many times that they are told not to. I have also seen a couple of people Wormhole/Fold Space Praetorian Warriors out of the blue patches on the Apex TF.

Not if you use an Ultimate inspiration just before hand.

She appears to still be active on the City of Titans forums.

With the female Standard Face 16, I have the shape set to "Average 4." For some reason whenever I edit the costume, it reverts to either "Custom," or "Average 1," and fixing it back to "Average 4" adds one million INF to my tailor price tag in addition to whatever other changes I want to make. I'm pretty sure that this is a very old bug as I do remember this being an issue prior to sunset, but I thought I'd report it because the game just tried to eat another million INF on me.

Loyalist <-> Resistance ... switching alignments EVERY TIME for Praetorians
Apparition replied to Redlynne's topic in Guides
Sorry, I forgot to come back to this. I'm not actually sure, so I plan to make sure every zone appropriate contact is introduced by level 7, 13, or 18 respectively. I don't want any problems with my third attempt. :P Yes, I mean introduced. -
Yeah. There's no real reason IMO that MLTF gives 37 reward merits (43 with the Arachnos flier), and LRSF gives 25 reward merits when they both require about the same amount of time on average and are similar in difficulty. Heck, I'd say that LRSF should give more reward merits than the MLTF considering that it usually takes about three or four times as long to fill a team for. :P Red side is scary, I suppose. But I digress.
-
Yep. That's why, personally, I would play everything except for Bio, Invulnerability, and Shield on a Brute instead.
-
Yep, which is one of the two reasons why I don't team for missions. The other is that only the mission holder gets reward merits.
-
It does, but like Energy Aura and some others, it's really weak compared to Invulnerability, Shield Defense, and Bio Armor, and especially weak compared to their Brute counterparts.

Invisible, untargetable Manticore AV in Peregrine Island's Mayhem
Apparition replied to nihilii's topic in Bug Reports
Manticore really is the worst. I will never know what Sister Psyche saw in him. -
Hard TFs, and +4s, and newer players. Oh crap
Apparition replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
Indeed. When Homecoming first launched, it was big news on the various MMOG related web sites and Twitters, and a lot of WoW and WoW clone players starved for content on their home games decided to check it out. They all power leveled Tankers, Brutes, Scrappers, Blasters, and Empathy Defenders to level 50 without any understanding of the game, ran the Incarnate trials, went "That's it?" and quit. There were a whole lot of them the first four months or so of Homecoming, dying down around August or September 2019. I'd kind of like to see their character names freed 'cause some of them had great character names and they're just never coming back. But I digress. -
Hard TFs, and +4s, and newer players. Oh crap
Apparition replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
There was a whole lot of that in April 2019 through July 2019 when Homecoming first started and the WoW and WoW clone players came to check out City of Heroes for the first time. I couldn't move about ten feet without encountering a level 50 Empath Defender with only the tier one attack, and the LFG channel was flooded with requests for Tankers and Empath Defenders. Thankfully, the vast majority of them quickly moved on. -
Something very similar to that has happened to both myself and a friend of mine quite a few times while playing red side characters trying to join co-op teams in RWZ and Cimerora. Sent tells asking to join, only to never get a response and see them still requesting people in LFG, and then watch as they eventually go to a mission. I suspect that there's a bug where it takes people of different alignments a couple of minutes to "sync" with the alignment of the zone. In the meantime, you're either invisible to people of opposite alignment, or the people of opposite alignment see you, try to invite you, get an error message that you're of the enemy alignment, and write you off. That's the only explanation I can think of for this to happen numerous times of people playing red side, and now for you to encounter it trying to play red side on a blue side character. Unless there are a bunch of jerks playing, which is also possible I suppose. What is wrong with forming one outside of Atlas Park? There's nothing that says a Death from Below Trial must be formed in Atlas Park. The Sewers is a level 1+ zone, easily accessible from Atlas Park and other blue side zones. Why would it be a complete waste of time to walk to the sewer entrance and go in, when it's the same trial? I realize that this is all personal preference on my end, but from Issue 3 on, I've had an extreme dislike of Atlas Park and vastly preferred Galaxy City. Every blue side character I made from February 2005 through August 2011 started in Galaxy City, and the destruction of Galaxy City in Issue 21 pretty much guaranteed that I'll never make a blue side character again. I would have much preferred to see Atlas Park get blown to Kingdom Come. C'est la vie. I just see no legitimate reason why a DFB Trial must be formed in Atlas Park. It can just as easily be formed in about 20 other zones. I chose another one that is level appropriate.
