  1. Brutal Justice's Law: As an online discussion grows longer (regardless of topic or scope), the probability of Brutal Justice posting a 40% defense hard cap as the solution to the problem raised in the thread becomes more likely. Sentinels don't do enough damage? Lower everyone's defenses to 40%! Masterminds' pets die too quickly? Lower everyone's defenses to 40%! There's a day job missing in Kings Row? Lower everyone's defenses to 40%! Too many catgirls in Pocket D? Lower everyone's defenses to 40%!
  2. It’s because teams move far too quickly these days for Traps to be useful, and if you are playing a support character odds are that you are going to team at least some of the time. Also, FWIW, Dark Miasma is another support set that doesn’t require allies for any power.
  3. Cheesecake > everything.
  4. Yeah, I am east coast.. the better coast.
  5. New update on Discord: OVH support doesn't seem that great.
  6. From the Homecoming Discord:
  7. I just hope we get a free day in compensation for all this down time.
  8. Yep. Watch the videos here and here. I may have been the dude with the huge sexy red bubble.
  9. Yes. It was frequently done on the Champion server back in the day. No, no additional badge.
  10. Electric Armor FTW.
  11. Heh. Back in Issue 3 or 4, I joined a Hollows team on a Radiation Emission/Dark Blast Defender, and was eventually kicked from the team because I wasn't a "healer." Even now, whenever I play a Dark Miasma or Time Manipulation character and someone thanks me for my "nice heals," I cringe inside.
  12. Not a bug. Burnout only refreshes primary and secondary powers, not power pool powers.
  13. Yeah. That's two reasons why I prefer the instanced mothership raid. Everyone on the league is level 35+, and since it's an instance you can get credit for things your team on the other side of the map does so it's an easier call to justify only having one or two people from every team involved in the bomb phase and have everyone else in the league go immediately to the bowl instead of dealing with bombs.
  14. Not much later. Bodyguard mode was introduced in Issue 7, about seven months after City of Villains launch. And yeah, Masterminds were originally designed as the CoV tank. That's why Lord Recluse has pets and yet is considered a tank. But that was pretty quickly walked back, before CoV launch IIRC.
  15. It's because of the Hamidon raids. The official start time is at 10 P.M. ET/7 P.M. PT, but The Hive tends to fill way earlier than that. So anything between 9 P.M. ET through 11 P.M. ET every night is pretty much blacked out. Otherwise, good luck competing with Hamidon.
  16. It's not 150. It was bumped up to 300 shortly after Homecoming started. IIRC, there is some technical block for increasing it much beyond that point, but I may be mistaken as it was a couple of years ago and at this point all of my friends have their own individual SGs anyhoo. Some have multiple. :D
  17. Yeah, it really was great playing a Scrapper or Blaster and having to wait a hour for some Tanker and Defenders to take pity on your poor damage dealer self and pick you for a TF. Good times, good times.
  18. Yep. Quite a few people I know believe that a TF/SF/Trial should take no longer than a one minute per one reward merit ratio, preferably less. If something gives 20 reward merits, it should only take 20 minutes or less to run or it's not considered worth doing. I don't agree with that sentiment, but it's not uncommon.
  19. That is no longer the case as of Page Two. The gun temporary power now goes to the team leader, regardless of AT.
  20. Not only that, but Taunt also makes it much easier to bring mobs in melee range and keep them there. I would always take Taunt on a Tanker, even if it means skipping some other valuable power like Hasten.
  21. Important, because I certainly wouldn’t expect a mostly or entirely PUG team to have -res procs slotted. Heck, while I have a couple of builds with multiple -res procs slotted, most only have one, and quite a few have none. Bringing a debuffer guarantees that you will have debuffs.
  22. Port Oakes will never be useless as long as it has The Radio. But yes, I agree that a level ten to twenty arc in Port Oakes would be great.
  23. Debuffs are definitely important. Damage + damage doesn't really work with Reichsman in my experience. One of the worst experiences I've had fighting him was on an all level 50 Stalker team. It took over twenty minutes to finish him. It really didn't help that the majority of us were s/l damage. On the other hand, as long as you have at least one debuffer, it easily takes less than half that.
