  1. Alignment is something people can toggle on to reveal, but the default is off. You still have to ID them to find out though. Arguably it’s more important than their origin! Edit, I have some vague memory of alignment not being something that should be brandished unless the player wanted it revealed.
  2. Some great suggestions on this thread. -Ability to customise the fire from Flamethrower/Ignite from the Assault Rifle set. Currently you can only use the default colours. -More animation changes. As long as it doesn’t effect the cast time/activation time. (On that note a reminder that Sonic alternative animations are currently bugged and making the powers take longer to cast than the default animations) -Pistol animations that are less showy- MM Thugs/ has some nice pistol animations.
  3. Alternatively if your character can handle +3/8 you can farm inf, and gain lots of vet levels in the process, which also gives your more EMP merits than you need!
  4. There is some value in those regen tools, but unfortunately in teams there is generally a lot of movement. If there is a long fight in one area it can make a good impact. Otherwise regen is great, but generally better as a buff people can take with them...
  5. I thought he meant the glowing aura around your character when you are at 90+ Dom
  6. Here’s a useful tip: Endurance recovery and health regen are not fixed numbers but a % of your max endurance and health. So if you raise your max endurance you will increase your endurance recovery rate in real terms. Even small numbers can help a lot. Raising max endurance = amplifying ALL sources of end recovery. e.g. If you get 2end/sec at 100 endurance, you will get 2.2end/sec at 110. Likewise If you get 4end/sec it will become 4.4end/sec at 110. The more endurance recovery you have, the more you’ll get, in real terms, by raising your max end. So if endurance is still being a pain then get the two accolade badges that each raise max endurance by 5. It helps a lot with boosting endurance recovery. There are also some rare set bonuses that will raise max end (most just do +end recovery). And endurance consumption is not based off of max endurance, so toggle numbers won’t get inflated by a higher max endurance, only endurance recovery. The two accolades: For the Atlas Medallion run the Moonfire TF in Striga Isle, it will net you almost all your Vampyr and Werewolf defeats and then all you need is a few exploration and a history (see the wiki for details) For Portal Jockey (40+, unless you do someone else’s missions) do Tina Macintyre’s missions (40-45) until you get the Hydra mission this will reward an exploration badge from the dimension you travel to (available via Ouro if you’re 45+) Then do Maria Jenkins missions (40-50) - her long story arc will have you fight 13/14 Preatorian Villains, defeating them as Elite Bosses still count to the badge, and a lot of stuff can be stealthed. Then keep doing her missions and eventually she will give you one to defeat Siege, which will get you 14/14 Prae villains for the badge. Then eventually she will give you another one to defeat Nightstar on a rooftop, and this will reward you with the Shrouded exploration badge. There is 1 quick history badge to collect and voila, the accolade! Neither are too hard to get and can help a lot with endurance woes. I make sure to grab them on my characters, particularly if endurance is an issue. There are two more for +max health but that will be too much for this post. Just search for accolade badge powers.
  7. Vanden is right. I think most people put it in health, but it does work well in any PBAoE aura heals too. The 6 slot set bonus gives a nice amount of ranged defence, so I sometimes use the whole set in those heals if I’m after ranged defence.
  8. Hello, any other European time zone players who play regularly? If so look me up, @Peacemoon Always up for a TF, whether full group or some fun duos. Also I have a SG called Shadows of Hope which is currently just me and my husband but would welcome other nice players. I don’t really RP but I do build concept characters with backstories. In game you’ll find me mostly as Svarteir, Peacemoon, Fallout Engineer, or other alts. Cheers 😊
  9. I seem to remember red side being more difficult. If anything it gives me a reason to try it out! I like red side, but I just get put off by all the arachnos stuff. I wish they weren’t so dominant and it was just a gothem city type place. Oh well!
  10. My only Doninator is Mind/Psy with everything set to the reddy-pink theme... barely noticed this! In all seriousness this is something that could be altered in the ‘inherent’ tab of power customisation? I’ve always wondered what that tab is for.
  11. Does it use the same alternative animations, where the player character steps forward and puts their hand out in front of them? I don’t know if this is intended. My assumption was the powers were balanced numerically and the animation chosen shouldn’t effect how the power performs, although happy to be corrected. As it stands the alternative animation does last a long time, and even at 2s cast, it still gets interrupted in a seemingly unnatural way if you chain a power to immediately follow it. I think there is a real issue here?
  12. I should add I tested this on a defender, haven’t tested it on other ATs
  13. I’m not sure if this is a bug or a known side effect, but if you use the alternative animations for Sonic Blast then the powers have a much longer cast time than if you use the default animations. Have only tested with Shriek and Scream but it is very pronounced. Shriek is a fast activating T1 blast, but with the alternative animation it is almost 2 seconds. Could this get looked into please? I‘d only want to play Sonic Blast with the alternative animations! 😊
  14. They’re very different powers with just a similar name. /Storm tornado is basically a pet with a tornado graphic that damage to anyone it touches and knocks back. If you slot to knockdown or use knockback protection powers (like immobilises, which Mind lacks) then it will just sit on the target doing continuous damage. /Psychic Mastery Psychc Tornado is an AoE nuke like a fireball. Instead of a fireball graphic it has a psychic tornado graphic that moves from the caster to the targeted mobs when it is ‘launched’, but that is purely graphical. The AoE does DoT damage with a chance for a small knock up, and there is one accuracy check when you activate the powers. Short version: Tornado is a pet, Psychic Tornado is an targeted AoE nuke.
  15. You posted that you didn’t understand why people still used archery/guns in a world where beam rifles exist and you couldn’t bring yourself to play such characters. I just illustrated why you are mistaken.
  16. If Beam Rifles are advanced tech they might also be much rarer and difficult to acquire. Also there is no evidence that an energy discharge from a rifle is anymore or less lethal than a spray of bullets. I think you’re thinking too literally. Maybe the bows are enchanted, maybe the assault rifle has special bullets. Maybe the assault rifle isn’t just an assault rifle but some high powered super piece of tech kit designed by the best military weapon masters on the planet, which is much more effective than a simply Tommy Gun used by The Family. Maybe it is just a standard bow or gun and the character is just so proficient the bullets can ricochet off the wall behind you and hit the weak spot at the back of the enemies neck. Also we all play in a shared environment. Maybe that character would operate differently or exist in a different type of world if they had an entire comic or film based on them. Maybe they want a more realistic or dark and gritty vibe in that environment. Gothem City is one of my favourite locations just for the atmosphere. It’s a shame Rogue Isle has far too much Arachnos architecture Or else it could be really cool. Just some thoughts!
  17. I usually use all inspirations as soon as they drop, and try convert greens and blues into reds or purples. Which reminds me, that would be a good bind to make.. Also I tend to reject awakens because they clog up my tray and I have to click them away. And if I die It’s rarely something I can come back from 🤪
  18. I do this with the powers, helped that a lot of my binds are now default for even new characters. I always have sprint bound to H Travel power is G. Self heal is always alt 1 and debuffs are alt 2 and 3 The Ctrl keys are for AoE controls and end recovery/regen powers. I don’t use numbers 6-10 on any bar. I convert them to Q-T. So my 3 main hotbars go 1-5 then Q-T, with alt and ctrl variants. (developed mainly after I played a Dominator and needed more binds.. and it went on to all my characters). Ctrl+Q-T has become where my incarnate powers live. Alt+W is always my group buff, like Fade or AM. Anyway you guys get the idea. The advantage to this is the binds are similar for each character. The disadvantage is if you do get a weird character with strange powers it can break the system and send you crazy! Still working out how to slot MM powers into this matrix. Oh and finally, I bind F6-F12 to my favourite emotes for that character, since you only need F1-5 for inspirations.
  19. This forum would do well to have a sticky thread on pet command macros and binds. Seems like the perfect place to have one. If there isn’t one anyone can put up I will try research it and come up with one. My MMs are only in their teens though so haven’t quite got into advanced MMing! It’s definitely an archetype where this sort of advance knowledge can make a big difference! Alternatively, if people want can post some good commands into this thread and I can copy and paste into this top post and compile them?
  20. Some of those TFs are best played in a group with people you know, so you can stop for drinks/dinner and agree a time to come back. Heck you can even decide to carry on the next evening if you wanted (have done that too). As long as you don’t mind your character being locked in the TF, but if you’re all offline it’s not an issue, or can play an alt in the meantime. Sometimes we’ll duo a TF if we want to go at a leisurely pace. I wouldn’t expect randoms to agree to that (sand nor should they). But it is a nice experience so would recommend it for those that can. Just make sure you’re capable of taking on an AV between you.
  21. I have a Mercs/cold MM I’m in the business of leveling (only 14 right now). He’s called Snow-Patrol with military snow camo... lol. So far the shields have made them pretty sturdy. Though I wish he got Sleet before 35. Im now leveling a Thugs/FF MM so will compare the damage. As a first glance Spec Ops really let the side down as they focus too much on CC at the expense of damage. (And since pets have no decent AI for CC most of it is wasted). Enforcer definitely better, and his maneuvers stack with shields. Anyway going slightly off topic. I would go thugs unless you wanted soldiers. And empathy if you want more defence or pain for offence.
  22. Well all the TFs are technically treated as the same once you hit 50 (for merits), but the incarnate trials do have a loose order, but can still be done in any order. In terms of start I’m not sure where the start is for incarnate stuff and the correct ‘path’. I did a lot of my incarnate stuff with veteran levels and did the trials much later. As with much of CoH, there are many routes you can progress your incarnates by. The Shadow Shard TFs have an order, available from the wiki. They also have some of the longest TFs, where the challenge is trying to stick with it!
  23. I quite like AR myself (helped a lot with the changes to snipe). Usually you can do a lot with sets just by modernising some of their mechanics. For AR, two things that I’ve noticed is that flamethrower takes a long time to do its full damage (7 seconds). This could easily be halved to make the damage more immediate. Full Auto should really have a chance to hit on each tick rather than one critical accuracy check at the start. There is nothing more amusing and also annoying than missing with full auto and thereby missing EVERY SHOT. It’s like I’ve dropped my rifle and it unloads the full magazine into the sky! Both of these changes could easily be done without really changing much of what we love about classic AR. If I could go a bit further I’d give flamethrower bonus damage to anyone stood in ignite.. or the other way around!
