Feedback: Testing Melee Set Performance
nihilii replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It just so happens the current speed record for a solo apex TF is held by a TW/bio scrapper. -
In all your examples, the debuffs stack. Different source (power or IO) = stack. If you had 2 Achilles' Heel slotted in 2 different powers, it wouldn't stack the proc, only refresh it.

I use Meltdown at the beginning, after the clock started ticking. I don't usually use it again when the run is long enough it recharges, the ~3s animation isn't worth it if there's just 30s left of damage to do. To be honest, I'm not even sure it's all that useful. A 3s cast is a large price to pay for just 60 seconds of +30% damage. 🤔 But, in general play, activating Meltdown can be done while clicking on a door or an elevator, and the +RES is also useful.

No, I don't activate any click before starting the clock. My usual protocol is get in position, start clock, fight.

Feedback: Testing Melee Set Performance
nihilii replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You would need to boost every other powerset. The gap is universal and it's sizeable. Arguments TW isn't overpowered because "all we have is Pylon data" fail to convince me. Play TW! You'd have to be blind not to see it. TW has everything, and it has it all: superb AoE damage. Fantastic ST damage. Native -RES. Native -DEF, for -RES proc slotting. +DEF Divine Avalanche-type power - as a *cone*. It's a beast on SOs. It's a monster on IOs. There is no performance reason to play anything but TW on scrappers, and no performance reason other than farming to play anything but TW on brutes. What TW has, however, is balance by annoyance with Momentum. Does it work? For me, the annoyance is enough I don't play TW too much. Some players power through the annoyance for the sake of uber performance. Some others enjoy the mechanical challenge. So that's a possible argument for the current state of things. But let's be honest, TW is mostly a Pay2Win relic from the Paragon Stores. It's not even remotely balanced from a numbers perspective. Edit: btw, if that's not clear, I'm entirely down with the "buff everything else" approach over "nerf TW". 😉 Super inefficient for the devs, but wonderful for someone who loves rerolling. -
/signed I did DD with 3 friends, and we're much more casual than Corruption's crew. Incarnate trial difficulty scale with league size (up to the player minimum). So a league of 16 where half of the players are half AFK or playing casually will struggle much more than a league of 8 where 5-6 are decent players. 3-4 good players can do it without trouble if they're paying attention. In the final fight a single person should be able to shoot down the healing things with room to spare, so it's a straightforward AV fight for the rest of the team.

Fire/Rad/Psi Sentinel on Pineapple (new Justin) Melee attack chain: Blaze -> Dominate -> Mind Probe -> Blaze -> Blazing Bolt -> Fireball, Aim+Inferno as needed, Flares replaces Fireball when Opportunity is up Ranged attack chain: Blaze -> Blazing Bolt -> Fireball -> Blaze -> Dominate -> Flares Ageless T4, Musc T4, Assault doublehit T4, Degen T4 Build: MELEE (Hybrid on) 2:15 - 411 DPS 2:34 - 376 DPS 2:28 - 386 DPS 2:35 - 375 DPS MELEE (Hybrid off) 3:09 - 330 DPS RANGED (Hybrid on) 3:00 - 340 DPS 2:58 - 343 DPS (<-- used Inferno in this attempt, so technically meleeish) RANGED (Hybrid off) 3:54 - 291 DPS 3:36 - 305 DPS 3:50 - 294 DPS This could use more runs, of course. Preliminary conclusions: the Blazing Bolt fix doesn't change much when it comes to ideal conditions DPS. However, it's a significant buff to ranged DPS, which is much more reliable.

Oh my. Yeah, combined with SS, as much as I like the changes... We might end up with something broken. Hand Clap with KB-to-KD IO + OG = perma mezzing bosses in a 16 feet radius. Given that blaster AoE holds got a nerf (right?) because they were too good compared to controllers... ...and in this case, you get Tanker defenses on top... ...*and* you get perma Build Up with no crash in the new Rage, boosting your 0.95 scale damage. If this hits Live as is, I'm rolling a DA/SS instantly. Already got the Brute version and it's amazing as is, regardless of forum controversies regarding SS performance. At the same time, I hope no tanker buff will be held back because of SS specifically.

I'm testing stuff right now on Pineapple (new Justin), and results are promising. The Blaze BB Fireball Blaze MP Dominate isn't that much more damaging than Blaze Dom Flares Blaze MP Fireball, although perhaps that's my lack of familiarity with the chain yet (it becomes important to watch the Opportunity bar and use Flares at the right time). However... I got 291 DPS (under 4 minute kill) on first try using Blaze -> BB -> Flares -> Fireball -> Blaze -> BB -> Flares -> Dominate. No Inferno, no Hybrid activation! This is a pure ranged attack chain dealing almost 300 DPS, and I didn't even spec BB for recharge so there is a small gap. I'll fix the gap and see what comes out of it. (This is still on a fire/rad - so a fire/bio could push this further too.)
-
Hear, hear. Treat it as a Build Up instead of an auto power you ctrl-click, and you get all the benefits with none of the drawbacks.
-
Amazing. Now to think about the new best fire blast attack chain. Perhaps Blaze -> Blazing Bolt -> Fireball -> Blaze -> Mind Probe - Dominate. No more Flares... 😉 (Well, ok, you still want to swap Fireball for Flares whenever Opportunity is up.) Blaze -> BB -> Flares -> Fireball -> Blaze -> BB -> Flares -> Dominate should make for a nice attack chain at range, too. Yum. Time to rebuild everything to fit BB in.

It's a show about a scrapper who goes off and soloes stuff and keeps getting his way. Scrappers, man. Ruining it for the rest of us since 1950.
-
😂 I am provably crazy, but I think you're twice as nutty as me if you read my post as "Rage doesn't need to be fixed".
-
It doesn't matter when you got the slot once it's in your build. i.e. a level 50 slot in Brawl will work if you exemplar all the way to level 1.
-
I could have been more explicit in the runs Obitus linked: this was with Hybrid on (you can sort of guess it by comparing it with the 330 DPS Melee Hybrid results above, as obviously I'm not getting +60 DPS from just the passive damage bonus of Assault). I think there are faster blaster runs, Ice/Fire blasters hitting 1:20 or somesuch. From my understanding these tend to be farmer builds heavily specced towards melee damage output (well, towards maximum AoE damage output, which happens to be melee with Hot Feet, Burn, Cauterizing Aura, Fire Sword). Which makes you wonder how would a Fire/Fire blaster perform, presumably you'd sit in melee and find some combo of Blaze, Fire Sword, Burn and Blazing Bolt with maybe some filler (or maybe not! Burn -> Blaze -> Fire Sword -> BB -> Blaze -> Fire Sword). Hmm...

I would put Might of the Tanker in Icicles. It triggers easily and lasts a long time, so that should be a guaranteed doublestack without any action on your part as long as you have at least one enemy in range. With the Superior version, that's +13% res to all. Gauntleted Fist has a much lower chance to proc, so I'd stick it in a long recharge ST attack personally (as to have it against a tough target like an AV, where you're likely to need it). /elec doesn't really have that, so I'm inclined to follow what Heraclea says. Thunder Strike might be a good spot for it, given that the AoE radius is small it shouldn't lower proc chance too much.

Do different build up procs stack? And..
nihilii replied to SmalltalkJava's topic in General Discussion
Another voice to confirm Gaussian and Decimation stack. If you want to be sure yourself when you test it, make sure you track your damage or tohit through combat attributes. This way, you'll see your meaty bonus when both procs are up. -
A 2 minute Pylon run with Flares - Blaze - Flares - Fireball would be quite a feat.

Willpower has the highest passive regeneration, it's all toggles and passives so set and forget. Bio has the highest potential regeneration, if the T9 click hits enough enemies. It has great regeneration with just one enemy + Ablative Carapace. Radiation has decent regen with its click, and gets some extra regen when your HP goes down; but it's not realy in the same league as the other two for the sole purpose of regeneration.
-
Nice try, Lord Nemesis, but I'm not going to help you normalize your love for anagrams so you can hide in plain sight.

Hey Xingularity, Here's my StJ/bio/soul build:
-
This is me as well. You can get surprisingly far with one auto power + autofollow on your main character. Queue a 2+ seconds animation power on your main, swap windows to your alt(s) to throw a quick buff or debuff, move back to the main window. In a pinch I've managed to run near seamless attack chains on 2 characters at once tabbing furiously between the two. Muscle memory helps a lot, especially if you have common hotkey patterns between all your alts.
-
It can be hard to realise (I know it took me a few runs), but the part where the final fight takes place is just off the cliff from the entrance/hosp. So if you hosp, just retoggle and run to the left, 10 seconds later you'll be back in the fight.

#15220 run with stj/bio/soul scrapper, +1/x8 bosses AVs, insps and Lore (Longbow Core T3) used - ~29:00 left on the clock. I would have thought having no AoEs in the build would hinder speed, compared to my sentinel who uses Inferno and Fireball liberally; especially as warworks are content to stay at range. But AVs are such damage sponges, the occasional Judgement is more than enough to clear everything but bosses. The only real hurdle this character faced was Marauder and his unbelievably good smashing resistance. A second suggestion for @Eva Destruction: make all objectives mandatory. I destroyed the generator while Marauder was in Unstoppable to save time, and got the "mission complete" to my dismay (clock was at 31:22). Incidentally, this mission is great XP! At least for me, it's captivating enough to run tests I don't feel like I'm grinding. A +1/x8 clear will give you a full level of XP if you have patrol XP.

You do make it sound that way! Thanks for the report. 🙂
