Please no. Yes, I know people farm Counsel Radio Missions in PI constantly. I just like that there is one enemy group that, if I'm having a bad day, I can solo a character and tear through them. I don't need to find a group, I can just grab and go. Considering the historical background of the group, I can't think of a better group to be able to grind into the ground.

Maybe when they fix that they can also add 'Skulls Boyfriends'. . . .

I bet they were inside when the power started activating.

Let's name these places on the boardwalk in Talos

It's right on the water, Pandora's Tackle Box -
I have been enjoying To Hit Debuff far to much lately with the addition of the Storm Blast set. My absolute favorite Debuff set has to be Trick Arrow: Flash Arrow is an amazing To-Hit Debuff - your first shot every combat, especially before it begins because it does not notify the target Acid Arrow (while being a great proc delivery device/make shift AoE attack) also lowers defense and resistance to debuffs Disruption Arrow is great for -Res (the -Max Endurance really isn't that helpful, but that is true of all minus End except for the rare sapper builds) That is just the highlights, Entangling Arrow also gives -Res, Ice Arrow (beyond being a decent hold with a good proc rate) -Damage, Poison Gas Arrow is a decent one slot wonder for -Damage. Trick Arrow is one of the sets that it is very hard to skip a power.

The Mob. You can be too, but it is more important is the target is in or not.

I keep posting on these Storm Blast is terrible threads, I can understand why some people don't like it - you are constantly having to do one or two power preps for every fight - other than that, I don't get the hate. Personally, I have a 50 TA/SB Defender and a 50 SB/Dev/Mun Blaster. Both are in the middle of doing their incarnate powers. I mainly soloed both with the occasional Team or TF. Both have the Portal Jockey and Atlas Medal Accolades. Both soloed all the EBs for Portal Jockey. Admittedly, I use the same main tactic for both, both primary and secondary have to hit debuff. For my Defender Flash Arrow does one heck of a job to begin with and SB's powers add on so I'm routinely taking enemies below 10% chance to hit (I set up a channel to in my chat box to watch to hit rolls) My Blaster does quite well in the to hit debuff department as well. I have them both at +1/4 - I will do a little higher once I get level shifts and that meets my casual play idea and both do fine. Admittedly, both are full with IO sets, but not purples. What secondary did you have for your Corruptor? What about the set didn't you like? The prep for fights? Don't think it does enough damage as compared to other sets? Category 5 taking too long for damage (I would think this would be a plus for a Corruptor since the damage is more towards the end)? Hate that you have to put in a Kb->Kd proc in Cat 5?

I just cant seem to get excited about Storm Blast.. am I alone?
laudwic replied to Heatstroke's topic in General Discussion
You are not alone, I'm just not one of the ones that agree with you. I have a 50 TA/SB Defender and a 50 SB/Dev/Mun Blaster. Picking complimentary primary and secondary sets adds to the enjoyment, I emphasized to-hit debuff thus Trick Arrow for my Defender and Devices for my Blaster. Both characters were leveled primarily solo with the occasional group or TF. Neither one had difficulty getting the Portal Jockey Accolade or taking down the EBs necessary for it solo. Both of them had an easier time with missions that I generally run with characters than other power sets. I guess I have more patience using a power or two before attacking a mob than others. SB may not be S tier (overpowered) but it can do very well both Solo and on Teams. Category 5 is a lot better/more effective than the forums give it credit even if you don't put it with Trick Arrow's Oil Slick. Fun Fact, Oil Slick can be lit on fire by electricity. . . . -
So you play a little differently, my Storm/Devices/Munitions Blaster has now hit 50, I was part of a lvl 50 pick up mission team last night. I don't know the settings but the spawns were large and I'm guessing +2 or +3 (I don't have any incarnate level shifts.) When the group was nearly done with one set, I would run to the next, hit them with Smoke Grenade and Storm Cell before dropping Catagory 5 in there. At that point, my blaster took the alpha from the enemies (generally wasn't hit due to the to-hit debuffs) and quickly taking down other enemies as the rest of the team was running up. At no point did I feel I wasn't contributing and, the times I ran ahead, I felt I was increasing our efficiency. The stacking of to-hit debuffs from Smoke Grenade, Storm Cell, and even first tier Diamagnetic Interface Incarnate is great. I have knockback to knockdown in Category Five (I don't bother with it in Jet Stream as Storm Cell does that for you a the Force Feedback Proc is great) Watching bosses accuracy drop in real time using Surveillance is great. My Trick Arrow/Storm Defender easily drops enemies chances to hit to below 10% with very little effort with Trick Arrow -> Storm Cell and blast away (or Category Five and blast away) I set up a channel in chat just to monitor the to-hit of attacks for the occasional laugh. The set is fine, even on fast paced teams. Also, if we alter everything based on a steamroller meta, the vast majority of Controllers, Dominators, and Defenders would generally need a total reworking.

Caretaker's Plot Discussion Tunnel to Oblivion
laudwic replied to The Caretaker's topic in Developer's Corner
I really like your use of the word 'When' instead of the word 'If'. Thanks for all the additional content, I've enjoyed it very much. -
For myself, I have started to make myself constantly keep, at a minimum, one inspiration slot open. If you think about it, the ability to use Inspirations is one of the best powers your character gets. It gives healing to those without a self heal, break holds and similar effects, restore endurance, greatly increase damage, accuracy, resistance and defense.

I have to disagree as well, is this set different? yes! Worse? No. I have a 50 TA/Storm Defender first two levels of incarnates unlocked - No problem soloing EBs for Portal Jockey badge Currently having fun with a 45 Storm/Devices/Munitions Blaster. This character is very effective with both AoE and Single Target. Solo Storm Cell and Smoke Grenade do a nice job lowering enemy's to hit, in groups it is not always worth the effort. Solo Category Five is great for EBs, especially if they are in a confined area. Sure, the damage takes longer, but watching them fall over repeatedly is great damage mitigation and my other 50 blasters didn't take them down faster because while their damage was front ended, they still had to take out the damage that the nuke didn't. Plus, I'm having great fun in EB, AV and GM fights looking at the de buffs I'm causing in real time using Surveillance from Munitions mastery. Storm is a fine set, while it may not be 'S tier' it is certainly A or B depending on the willingness of the player to understand it and utilize it to their advantage.

Caretaker's Plot Discussion Tunnel to Oblivion
laudwic replied to The Caretaker's topic in Developer's Corner
Also, one heck of a good use of Ouroboros (sp). I very much appreciate whomever gave us that alternate ending for that NPC. I agree with the person that originally asked the question, this is one NPC that should reappear. With Homecoming adding content, please consider having that NPC appear again in a meaningful way if you have the badge. Thanks! -
The experience of a returning player having to re-learn the ropes.
laudwic replied to crimson72's topic in General Discussion
I agree with Yomo, but write to add that Sentinels are also extremely survivable. I generally have my 50s fund my new characters. Especially since by the time I'm working on incarnate abilities I already have everything slotted how I want (I generally don't get many purple sets). -
I have to say, I continue to be amazed at the rate and amount of additional content being added to the game. I really appreciate it!

Taking aside the mechanic to actually build and design your own nemesis, is it possible to insert an ambush code into a mission with a low chance to occur that spawn the Nemesis (with some minions if on a team)? Or, create a new tip mission at each set of level intervals with the nemesis. Initially it will be too generic, but, maybe, someday they can have nemesis tip missions based upon origin to allow a little customization. Yeah, with the resources of a volunteer team, I don't see it happening. Frankly, I'm amazed at what additions have already been made. Still a fun idea.

I would add in Steel Canyon occasionally one of Accendent's old phone calls with his agent. You can find a couple on-line.
-
I generally stop double xp at 40 as inf starts building up at those levels and you will need to do multiple contacts if you want the Portal Jockey badge. Plus, lvl 50 white recipes are a great source of funds just selling to contact. I find this way by the time this one gets to 50, it will pay for the IOs for my next one.
-
Plus, fighting with Ascendant is always a plus. I remember him from live, I'm always happy to see him there, I just wish you could overhear some of his conversations on local. Never been a fan of his breakfast cereal though.

When the company creates a license that allows exactly that, absolutely! The Open Gaming License that WoTC is seeking to replace allows the use of parts of the DnD rule set and certain IP for free. Frankly, while I do not do IP work and I'm interesting to hear from someone that does, I don't see how they get out of the OGL for 3e and 5e products. If WoTC continues their current direction for 6e, I think they are going to take a decent sales hit. Creating the onerous new version of the OGL at the same time Hasbro has been pretty vocal that DnD is not monetized enough is a fine example of bad timing.

At that point you start to realize that Circle of Thorns is also ahead on portal tech. -
By worst, I'm assuming you mean most annoying to fight. Personally, Carnival of Shadows: Master Illusionists. If I'm playing a controller or, better, a Dominator, they aren't bad because I can hold them. Otherwise, major pain in the rear.

Personally, with my ninja/TA I took Heat Mastery and took Bonfire. When you add a Knockback/knockdown proc in it, it is amazing especially when you add a damage IO set. I alternate between that and the oil slick/fireball when attacking groups.
