    Endurance Woes

    My Marine/Electric Blast Defender is fine with End. Nice thing with Electric blast, you drain them of end, they are no threat to you, and you get some end discounts (get some back) when fighting a drained opponent.
  2. Doesn't that answer the question though? There is a way to have everything for free, make any character you want, be any level you want, accolades, enhancement sets, just spend some time setting up your character, yet few people are on there. There is value to the relatively minor struggle we have in this game to earn things. Lets face it, 2x xp boosters, patrol xp, free patrol xp from exploration badges, no real failure penalty, there really aren't any true hard challenges here. But there are enough to make you do some effort to get rewards. I like that I can play, get my minor rewards for my minor challenges and by not instantly leveling I learn how best to use my character's abilities. I have a decent amount of inf, but with all the new characters I'm making, I don't have the inf to immediately outfit them as well as I would like. (Admittedly, I have characters with over 100s, one with over a thousand, merits sitting on them, I could turn those into cash is I was more interested in that minigame) That makes the game more interesting and fun for me. I generally solo, if I wanted everything handed to be, I'd play on Beta.
  3. I've just started running a Pyro/Marine Controller. I'm only up to 24, (most of my levels were DFB and Posi 1 & 2 now soloing) and I've noticed a few times using Tidal Pool then Glittering Column and then Whitecap I would see enemies fly away far further than I've ever seen. We're not talking a decent distance away, we're talking far away. A full use of superleap away. A few times they flew well out of range of powers and I would need to go looking for them. (ouside map) I've run a defender who does Tidal Pool then Whitecap all the time, and that just sends them to the ground. Adding Glittering Column (and Controller vs. Defender) is the main difference. Is there sometimes a super blast off or if I time everything right does the knockback magnitude become cumulative?
  4. Haven't played the mission, just a comment, are you sure you want to use the term "Real ID" considering its the name to a US federal act related to minimum requirements for state identification documents. . . .
  5. I don't see why your confused. Cobalt is clearly red side, Captain is clearly blue.
  6. I love the idea of the synergy of Storm Cell and Tide Pool, but the secondary effects on storm really don't give you much while Electrical Blast with Short Circuit and Ball lightning give you some amazing soft control with draining all their End.
  7. I've run two Defenders where their main damage mitigation is sapping to great success soloing well beyond 50 (my marine/ele has 50 vet levels from normal play). One Electrical Affinity/Electrical Blast (The main plus for that one was Faraday Cage) and one Marine/Electrical Blast (Tide Pool, plus White cap knocks everything down then Shock). Both are HIGHLY effective and sapping is a very effective strategy except as you get to some of the AVs and Monsters as it seems that they have been given protection against end drain. A few Marine/Electrical Blast Defenders working together would be very effective between the knockdown (really knock back but if your close are they are above you they are knocked down) from doing multiple Whitecap attacks into tide pool, followed by shock (both my defenders will sap the enemy group to zero between shock and ball lightning) and the slow effects of tide pool would keep them in the area for clean up.
  8. They were never mandatory, there were other contacts, just when they added the Hallows it wasn't intuitive on how you could continue to work and progress with other contacts in other zones.
  9. I ran it a ton of times, solo, as I found it oddly relaxing.
  10. Marine and Necro work well together, and get better with tidal pool at 16. . .
  11. Can we please please please get a Red side NPC Villain named "Karen" with that attitude? Or she could be a Crey customer service boss. . .
  12. I'm tempted to rewrite 'Baby Come Back' as 'Snarky Come Back' Two problems, 1. I'm lazy, and 2. I can't carry a tune
  13. If your looking at solo play, may I suggest going to a Brute instead of a Tank? Brute's secondary power is more suited to solo, they focus on their attack powers as their primary and defense as their secondary (tankers defense is the primary set and attack secondary) All that means is that you'll have your attack powers earlier.
  14. Badge - Hopeless Romantic Select the Inspiration Option during the Wedding Event 20 times. I'm truly enjoying the wedding event. Honestly, I find it relaxing and enjoyable to play through solo with my main character. I've gotten all the badges for the event, and I'm fine just being limited to the inspiration at the end as I enjoy the battle. (I would make more xp and inf faster on content or a farm, but I just enjoy this fight.) Thanks for all you do.

  15. Mediport lore aside, there are numerous powersets that have Self Rez built into them. What your asking for isn't the design of the game. If you want to do this playstyle, fine. If your character loses their life, just delete it. It is very easy to self implement what you want. I would much prefer the Devs put their time and efforts somewhere else.

  17. Back in the days of Live where being a Ill/Rad Controller was an amazing thing, the original Phantasm was much better than it is today. Then, it stayed at range and didn't close like it does now. You could also have multiple copies of it out. They reduced the summons to one (admittedly, teaching it to ride an elevator is a plus) and changed the AI. I wish they would just give the AI for the pet in Symphony control as that stays at range. In my mind, the only real downside of that one is it would also increase the effectiveness of the Phants summoned by Carnie.
  18. Honestly, while I originally used to have trouble with Mercy with the occasional Red Side Character, now they drop a temporary flight power on you after you complete the tutorial. All of the problems getting around Mercy, or the other zones, is taken care of with just having a map and being able to use a jet pack for a short period to take care of any problems. Personally, I think Red Side has an amazing amount going for it, I just can't imagine the Devs spending much time on it due to the relatively low player base and lack of resources.
  19. I don't want every major boss fight to have some puzzle that I need to figure out before I can actually just throw down and fight them. I play CoH to turn my brain off and just have fun, I don't want to have to figure (or look at a website) out the 'trick' to every big fight.
  20. Especially if it allows you to pull them from their nice, dark, safe and secure coffin to the middle of a treeless park that has no shade, at noon, in full sunlight. It would need to work in those circumstances, for, ah, reasons.

Unfortunately, there are a few sets that have set up effects that work great if your solo and patient, but, on a team, your going to lose effectiveness because (on speed teams) you will not be able to keep your effect up. Marine Affinity - Tide Pool (probably the most direct comparison - but it isn't mobile at all- better recharge time though) Trick Arrow - Flash Arrow Traps - (half the set)
  23. I got: Florida Woman I left some names of my lower level characters unprotected. I feel a little bit disappointed that none have been taken from me. I guess I am not as creative as I thought.
