Christmas has always been about stalking. I mean, these lyrics are from 1934. He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake.

Where/what/how is the Homecoming installer these days?
Ironblade replied to AspieAnarchy's topic in General Discussion
As far as I know, every server has their own chat forums and you should be able to find installation instructions there. I don't play on any others so I can't offer any advice beyond that. -
You're too kind. I was going to go with a harsher version. "Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity." 😛

6 slot health and stamina? Pros/Cons
Ironblade replied to shortguy on indom's topic in General Discussion
I think you might be experiencing some perception bias. You think it should help, so it seems to make a difference. I would never six-slot either. I would typically put 3 slots in Stamina and slot a level 50 endmod and two pieces of Performance Shifter, the +END proc and endmod. Sometimes I'll only have one slot on Health and put a proc in it - Miracle or Panacea. I did a discount invuln build where I ended up with about +360% regen. He had four slots in Health. You have a 'toggle build'? Pardon my good-natured mockery. I have a Spines/Dark Armor scrapper named Toggle Man who runs SEVENTEEN toggles in combat. Toggle Man has 5 slots in Health and 3 in Stamina. The only toggle he can't afford to run in combat while spamming melee attacks is Whirlwind. And he does spam melee attacks. He has very few of them, but has Hasten auto-firing to cycle them faster. If Toggle Man doesn't need six slots in Stamina, no one does. So toggle on some respect and put some of those slots where they'll do more good. 🙂 P.S. I've added a link to my forum post with the story of Toggle Man in my signature. It's a brilliant piece of prose that someone posted on the original forums and it inspired a character. -
Apparently. I only ToT each character enough to get the 5 badges that give the Aether but people seem to be going non-stop. So many people are doing the ToT blitz at the hotel in Peregrine that it's making it hard for the Hami raids to get enough people.

At base difficulty level, you can play anything you want. I can solo at 0x6 or more with a concept build. The character is named Toggle Man and runs 18 toggles in combat - just to see if he could. He's a spines/dark armor scrapper and has only two single-target attacks (Lunge from spines and Kick from Acrobatics). Most of his damage comes from procs in damage aura powers so he's much more effective against a crowd of scrubs than against higher level enemies. When Positron is the weekly strike target, I'll solo it with a variety of characters for the Notice of the Well or the XP. I've soloed it this week on a blaster, defender and a tank. And this is exemplared down to level 15 (FYI, the tank was actually level 16 at the time; the others were higher level). Pick the character you enjoy the most. ANYTHING can solo in this game.
-
Well, not exactly. All the lower level characters are automatically sidekicked to the team leader. Any higher levels characters are exemplared down to the team leader. So, if the leader is level 26, anyone who is lower level will be level 25. It's important to understand how this works when you're on a mothership raid and the level 50 leader of your team disconnects.

Best way to help lower-level players in-game?
Ironblade replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
I correct their spelling without mercy! The word is 'bout'. 😛 Seriously, though. I teamed with a newb the other day. We did a DFB and they had a bunch of questions about enhancements and the vendors and I spent like 20 minutes answering their questions and then gave them 10 million inf when they mentioned how expensive SOs were. -
My favorite memory was being on a character about level 15 or so in The Hollows. This was back in the day when the gate to Atlas Park was a major hub of activity so there were probably 30 or 40 characters loitering in the area. I saw a group of high level characters exit a mission and head toward the gate. Then I saw a level 50 Malta ambush spawn and start chasing them. The carnage was incredible. Dozens of characters dead in seconds.

The Disagreeable Dr Quarterfield and The Mortifyingly Cruel TF
Ironblade replied to Tobogon's topic in General Discussion
Well, no one is forced to do it. Some people will do it once for the badge. I'll run it occasionally. The standard reward is 122 merits. If I log in my 3 accounts and solo it when it's the weekly, that's a lot of merits. -
tsk, tsk. A full ten posts before yours, someone posted "is it me you're looking for?"
-
If you really want it, transfer to another server for the badge, then go back later. I did that for some of the ridiculous arena badges. I moved to Excelsior and made a temporary Ironblade to make sure I didn't lose my name before I went back to Everlasting. Everlasting usually runs The Really Hard Way once a month, on the first Sunday of each month. They run it twice and often (usually?) get it both times.

Not only paranoid, but delusional and stupid. Bots haven't been a problem except for a relatively brief time back on live.
-
Eh, not so much. For whatever reason, you can click the obelisks from some crazy distance like 50 or 60 feet or more.
-
Meh. Having done that successfully 70 or 80 times, it doesn't impress me. I actually think Triple Threat, in the same iTrial, is harder. That one is for taking out Shadowhunter, Nega Pendragon and Chimera within 5 seconds of each other.

That would be where it crosses the line. The character of Thor dates back many centuries in Norse lore. In Norse lore, he had red hair. If you make a blond Thor with a costume that looks like one of the Marvel ones, that's infringing.

Sounds about right. In my case, I don't use Mids and I do extreme min-maxing on MAYBE 2-3 characters ever. So I have good few characters with a handful of HO's in the build, but most of them have none because even without serious min-maxing, you can easily find a lot of good set bonuses. As an example of this, Ironblade has an acc/dam HO in Brawl. When you exemp down to a stupid level, and lose most of your attacks, it actually comes in handy.
-
@macskull OMG your animated GIF is AWESOME!!!!
-
A ton. I never take the HO. It's 120 merits in like 20 minutes.
-
I am astonished. I would have quit the task force INSTANTLY, since you can't turn that off once it's set. Ah, so the leader really was stupid. He's running a level 16 task force with crazy settings and isn't aware that lore pets are not available. Nope, no defense. Doing a task force with that setting does NOT give an additional badge. That setting only gives badges in Ouroboros arcs (and not even all of those).

My right hand never leaves my mouse (except to type in chat). I use the mouse to steer my character and the left hand to move. My left hand also activates most powers. I put the important powers in the lower numbered slots (1-6) in the power trays (trays 1-3) so I can easily reach them with the left hand. Infrequent powers, like stuff with a long recharge go in the right slots on the power trays and I activate them with the mouse. Powers that are REALLY infrequent, like toggles and incarnate powers go in power trays 4 or 5 off to the side and are activated with the mouse.

Homecoming player count: a year in review
Ironblade replied to macskull's topic in General Discussion
One of the devs explained that would be a MAJOR job since it's two separate databases. CAN it be done? Sure, but it would be way more work so they're not considering it. -
It's a triffid, but intelligent - it only moves when you're not looking.
