  1. Okay, did you actually READ the information at the link you posted? It directly contradicts what you wrote and agrees with what Razor said. You get to run each story arc ONCE EVER per character where the timer does not count. So a new character can run the arc and then run it again and the timer DOES NOT APPLY. In fact, since you get one free run of each arc, you can run all of them consecutively on one character and get the 20 merits each time. I have done this and this is how it worked for me. And when I say I have done this, I didn't actually run ALL of them. I did 4 arcs back to back and got the 20 merits every time since I had never done any arcs on that character. Having said that, I see two possible issues: 1) Maybe the reward system was changed recently although I don't recall any mention. 2) I don't know if I ran the arc twice in one day. There is ANOTHER timer that applies to task forces and trials where you get diminishing rewards after the first run on the same day. That might be applying here.
  2. I had a character with a somewhat similar theme. He was a time traveler and his clothes would change to random outfits from all different eras. He had a caveman outfit, steampunk outfit, cyborg with the brain in a jar, dynasty outfit, wild west outfit, etc. That was my only character that used all 10 costume slots.
  3. Lore pets for face-tanking? Not really. My advice is to get one of the buffers that casts Fortitude. That's huge on any character. My scrapper does a lot of damage so I hold aggro off the pets. If you're worried about them dying too fast, you can get a pet that can't be damaged but has no attacks - all it does is buff.
  4. Because they are losers. Let me tell you a story..... Back on the live servers, I ran task forces every Saturday afternoon with open sign-up on the forums. One day, I had someone send me a tell if it was okay if they brought their main character, which was a kheld. I said, "Everyone is welcome. I arrange the teams to make sure they're all good and anyone can bring any AT as long as they're high enough level for that TF." Long story, short: we started dating like 7 years ago and now we live together. Imagine if I had replied, "No, I don't want no stinking kheldians on my teams!" :)
  5. Don't let a handful of cranky people influence your decisions of what to do in the game. Try everything again. Back in the day, I did MSR's occasionally - once a week or so. And I've been doing them with about the same frequency now. They're just as fun as they used to be. On a side note, the conversion from Vanguard Merits to Reward Merits is irrelevant to me. I stockpile VMerits to buy the Vanguard Heavy temp pet.
  6. That is correct. I actually managed to track down Issue 25 patch notes.
  7. I have a Logitech M705. It's a cordless, laser mouse. I use it on a 3M Precision Mousing Surface - like a mousepad, but super thin and it adheres to the desktop. I don't play any 'twitch' games so I don't need to worry about the lag of a cordless mouse. I like wireless since the mouse (obviously) gets moved around, just like my headset (which is also wireless).
  8. Holy cow! I teamed with you a few days ago and didn't know it was you because I didn't recognize the Queen of Eels global. I'm in the habit of checking global names of everyone I team with. Not sure what server this was on as I've been leveling characters on Indomitable and Everlasting. I'm guessing you would have recognized the name Ironblade so I must have been on some other. On a side note 'My Wife's Character' says hello. (She's sitting across the room and I read her your post since I knew she would recognize the Michael C. Warshade name).
  9. I remember you. :P ooo, I'm honored. :) So, I'm back too. I just hadn't noticed this forum thread. I've set up on Everlasting, rebuilt my SG (Enclave of Honor) base and got my brother's family to move their characters over to Everlasting. Also, Paragon City Search And Rescue has set up on Everlasting and I was in there for 6-1/2 years (and am again). It seems a lot of Infinites have set up on Indomitable. I've made an Ironblade on every server (except Reunion) so maybe I should level up the one on Indom.
  10. I can answer the 2nd question: Nothing. None of the incarnate materials can be transferred between characters.
  11. Oh, the irony. I have a character with Tactics, Focused Accuracy and the Kismet unique. He's a scrapper.
  12. Right, hypothetical kids. Let's see, my nephew is currently 12 and he played CoH with his parents while the game was still live. How long ago did it shut down? :)
  13. You could start at some particular time, like midnight UTC, and then move it forward 3 hours each month. That way, every region will get to have a turn at the donation window being most convenient for them.
  14. ugh, like 3 hours. The hunt 50 again and again and again gets really tedious. I got no interest when trying to assemble a team, so I soloed it. To be fair, it was like 1:30 in the afternoon on a weekday, so not many people around.
  15. I think one -KB IO is plenty - UNLESS you're tanking with a set that has no KB protection. Because if you're tanking, most of the stuff is hitting you.
  16. Definitely. I was on a (successful) master run with an invuln tanking. Regarding the OP, I don't think BAB is a tank. From the comics, he seems more like a scrapper (there were no brutes back then).
  17. Not really, but they are front-loaded. i.e. You get most of them early on. Per the official patch notes for issue 25: Vet levels 3 - 24 : You get 20 emp merits over this span of levels. 27-48 : 15 emp merits spread across these levels 51-69 : 10 emp merits 72-99 : 5 emp merits
  18. It works fine for Death From Below, since that gets run a lot. A few times, I couldn't get a full team so I started with 6 or 7 and we pulled people in from the queue.
  19. There was a bug where you could do your ten Tip Missions, do a Morality Mission for merits and then still have a full tip bar. So you could immediately do another Morality mission for merits. And when I say 'bug', I really mean exploit. Someone explained how they farmed merits. After the Morality mission, they would choose to not change alignment and then do another Morality mission and not change alignment, etc. At least, that's how they described it. Definitely sounded like an exploit.
  20. Duh! And you're calling them disconnected from the internet? They have stated an age restriction and you have to click to agree. If someone underage gets on, that means they lied to do so and that's beyond their control. I mean, oh my god, there are literally thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of games and apps out there with this kind of stuff. Have you been under a rock the past 20 years?
  21. Really? Or do you mean three, counting Brawl? ;) I typically put the one with a chance for knockdown in Brawl.
  22. I remember it. It was always like this. I never really felt it was a big deal because I'm a HUGE fan of the Leadership pool. Many of my characters have Assault and Tactics. My main (a scrapper) has both of those PLUS Focused Accuracy from Body Mastery. Aside from that, carry some yellow inspirations. These enemies aren't really that common. Also, try to take them out first - just like Sappers when fighting Malta and Communications Officers when fighting Rikti.
  23. Emphatically, no. I made my first villain today and was shocked at how long it took to find a team for Death From Below - while I could see the DFB spam on LFG for blue side runs. If it's that hard to find people for DFB, it's going to be harder to find people for EVERYTHING. My suggestion (and what I did after 3 DFB runs), go talk to Null The Gull in Pocket D and switch to Rogue or Vigilante (I went with Rogue, since the character started as a villain).
  24. And, from everyone else's point of view, no point arguing with someone who doesn't HAVE the whole picture - which you admit you do not, with your complaints about transparency. Seriously, though, no one is forcing you to be here. If you don't trust the people running the server and have issues with how they are doing things, vote with your feet. I'm guessing that your posts are not going to have any impact on how they are running this operation, and rightly so.
  25. Not quite. Just turning off XP does NOT get you extra influence. Turning off XP WHILE EXEMPLARED does get you extra (double) influence. Your statement might be correct at level 50. I have not tested that.
