  1. Not to derail but I see this 'ED' term everywhere but never see it spelled out. Can someone please explain it?
  2. Ah. Well. Thanks for the tip then.
  3. I have this issue of having to click multiple times on just about anything in order to get a price history for it. The first click, about 50-60% of the time, returns zero history results. It may take upwards of 5 more clicks to get the history to populate. If I click again after the history displays, it's very likely to disappear again. Is this something everyone deals with, or is it just me? It's maddening...
  4. I think literally everything that alters the appearance of your character should be optional. Armors, auras, stealth... I get why someone would want it, but it should be optional.
  5. Thanks for the reply; I'd given up on getting one and wasn't notified on yours. I've heavily modified the build already with an eye toward the points you mention (though Stone Mastery is indeed "necessary" thematically). I'll check out your build tonight after work. 🙂
  6. Hi; this is my first attempt a build. I stole some of it from other builds in the forum, but adapted it to meet my thematic needs. I really don't know what I'm supposed to be shooting for in terms of defenses, and I don't know much about proc synergies or what sets work best with certain skills. I also have a limited budget, so I chose expensive enhancements where it looked like they'd contribute a lot, but otherwise tried to keep it somewhat affordable. I do plan to mostly team with this, and that includes exemplaring. I took a travel power because I just can't see my ancient sentient sarsen stone golem wearing a jetpack. I also took Spirit Tree -- I know, but I just want it. I thought if I loaded it up with Heal and put End in Lifegiving Spores, and threw them down together, folks would appreciate it. I'd be willing to let it go, but I really want it for thematic reasons. I'd appreciate some advice; I have no pride. Thanks in advance. 7. As a veteran MMO player of around twenty years, much of which has been spent raid healing and tanking, my opinion is that the safety, damage output, and aggro of the group is everyone's responsibility. No single person is (in most cases) entirely responsible for a win or a wipe. Every role has ways to contribute to each component. Whether it's situational awareness, split-second decisions on who gets the last heal, dialing down your dps for a moment, keeping an eye on the squishy beside you, or simply not standing in the fire -- every person on the team has the power to influence the outcome in ways that go beyond their job description. It's just a matter of knowing that and applying it.
  8. 100% support the elimination of the suppression mechanic. This was the first of a chain of decisions that led to me and several friends quitting the game back in Live. It's one of those things that could have been avoided if someone had put it through the Patch Notes test. Mechanics Changes 1. The game is now more fun because: [Description of Change 1] 2. The game is now more fun because: [Description of Change 2] 3. The game is now more fun because: When you enter combat status for any reason all your travel powers get inexplicably worse. ... If you read the list out loud and it sounds stupid, it probably is.
  9. I don't have any theory crafting to contribute but I can say that I loved my regen scrapper in the old days before the transition to clicks. It was a joy to play. Now on HC I haven't even rolled one because the idea of all that clicking just turns me off. From joy to utter disinterest. I think I can follow the logic of why it changed for balance reasons, looking at it from a "make everything balanced" perspective. I just can't follow the logic of making it less fun from a "make everything fun" perspective.
  10. One approach is to configure your mouse such that the side buttons are mapped to numpad keys. Many modern mice come with software for this purpose. Then you can just use the numpad binds.
  11. Hi, I'm looking for a macro which I can hit to toggle between petcom_all Follow Passive and petcom_all Attack Aggressive. I tried the following: /macro "P" "petcom_all Follow Passive$$petcom_all Attack Aggressive" But it's always setting them to aggressive. I know I could have the macro load another bind file, but I was hoping there was a simpler way.
  12. I have this same issue. I cannot for the life of me get the window to stay put. It always reverts to the absolute upper left of the screen no matter how many times I save my options/windows/etc.
  13. On the first Shining Stars mission to "Meet the Crew" there is a point where the base gets attacked. If you beat Twinshot back to the first level, she'll arrive simultaneously, and then also later when the fight is over. So there's two of her standing there at the end.
  14. Every time I do the Shining Stars arc I cringe at every line of dialogue my character has; I don't have a single character for whom those responses would be appropriate. In more technically demanding engines, the cutscene does often serve as an 'animated loading screen' which masks the marshaling of the level assets, scripting, etc. The rendering of the cutscene itself has a known resource cost, so the length of the scene can be tailored to cover the expected load time of the other resources. I tend to forgive the existence of these, but I do prefer an option to skip; sometimes the dialogue is so annoying or I've just seen it so many times, that I'd rather just watch a loading bar.
  15. I've always found it strange how many game design tropes developers love but players hate. I'd put the Escort Mission near the top of that list, and the Unskippable Cutscene somewhere near that. One of my pet peeves is having the game speak for my character, usually with the effect of them saying something stupid or being inexplicably oblivious to something that is blatantly obvious to me.
  16. I'd like the option to show our weapons stowed on our characters when not in combat. You could choose to display it on the back, hip, carried... Certain weapons would have limited positions obviously. Pistol holsters on belts, thighs, chest. Just feels really lacking to play a toon whose super abilities are weapon based and not have any visible weapons.
  17. I just want to say that all this talk of balancing the game around incarnates is scary to me. I can barely keep my characters in basic IOS and have only done the patron arc on one character so far (a severely underslotted Defender - it was really tough and made me not want to do it again). I have only the vaguest idea of what incarnates are... I assume it's the giant monsters 50s summon that just eat up the map and turn the team into a group of additional redundant pets that follow the 50 around and die to loose mobs. I barely understand the proc mechanics and frankly it makes my eyes glaze over reading endless arcane theorycrafting about obtuse and complicated systens that only the highest level ultra-wealthy players can afford anyway. I just want to do TFs and missions and feel like a superhero, not a super-rich-hero. I miss the old days when everyone was on more of an even playing field and everyone contributed something even if they weren't the most rarified meta build.
  18. No; I did not know about this. Thanks for the pointer.
  19. Has something changed recently? I hit 41 tonight and went to pick my Epic power, and the only options are Charge, Chill, Field, and Heat. What gives?
  20. Sorry; deleting this, as I apparently had an older version installed.
  21. I'm having trouble opening these in Mid's. I just downloaded it the other day, and every build I've tried to open from the forums has thrown an error of some kind: index-out-of-range, or "Error reading some power data... will attempt to build with known data... resulted in arithmetic overflow", etc. Since everyone seems to be using these but me, what can I check on my end? I've checked for updates, but there are none. The editor itself seems to work; I just can't get it to read anything I download or copy-paste from the forums. I would ask in the Mid's topic, but I don't seem to be able to post there.
