  1. I had many troubles with these back on Live, especially the first one, at low level and desperately needing a respec.  Lolz at this difficult mission with our noobishly gimped toons.  It's hard to imagine failing it these days with IO sets and Mids and all the other tools and knowledge we have, but hey maybe your team was running similarly gimped toons with SOs and just struggled.  If the game was too easy, it'd be boring!

  2. Usually when I lead a TF, I pick a time limit and "no deaths" challenge setting, for no reason other than my own idea of fun.

I'd like to suggest players earn additional rewards for selecting higher difficulty options on Task Forces, in accordance with the difficulty selected ("Enhancements have no effect" would be worth much more than "Enemies in missions are buffed" for example, and longer and more difficult TFs would offer more rewards).

Currently these items don't have a tangible reward in TFs, other than you can get a few of the Ouro badges if you do LRSF through the Ouro crystal.  This would give us some incentive to choose these options on TFs beyond adding more challenge for the sake of challenge.  A bonus to merits, aether, xp and inf would be a cool incentive to pick these options.

  3. I'm not sure how, but there is a method to track this, probably with a 3rd party tracker.  I was once assigned to be the "rock teleporter" in a Hami raid, and a player new to the raid and server was tracking league damage and calling me out as not participating because my damage was at zero.  Minor drama ensued while the league leaders explained my role and this new player argued, and back and forth.

However, lots of other multiplayer games have an end-of-mission scorecard and I've only ever looked at those as a "cool, I did well this round" or "hmm I should pick it up."  You know, personal growth and all.  There's definitely potential for griefing though, and I'm not sure why a volunteer staff would even start down that road.

FYI, the max mob size is 17, so you'd probably want 18+ critters to make sure you don't get duplicates. For instance, The "Comic Con" farm maps have nearly a HUNDRED different characters to make sure there's no duplication within the mobs!

I don't know if this is helpful information, but if you have a large map, you'll have a chance to see a lot of them, just like the Comic Con farms.

I think there's no question crowded servers are more fun.

I have a difference of opinion here.  The information is out there on what the different servers do well, so players who prefer a certain server are there because it serves their needs.  "More crowded" isn't appealing to everyone.

  6. I'd definitely prefer a revamp of the Master of badges to be more like Aeon and Tinpex where you employ different tactics during the mission, as opposed to no deaths and temps.

Defeat the Rock Wall and the Giant Monster within 10 seconds of each other "Rockbreaker"

Rescue the heroes before defeating the Crystal Titan "Needs Help"

Defeat the Crystal Titan before rescuing the heroes "Doesn't Need Help"

Defeat the Crystal Titan without consuming any Ambrosia "Au Naturel"

    Boom, mastered.

I second that motion. We have nice residential neighborhoods in Paragon City already, but they are built up with high-rise buildings which gives a different feel than a suburban neighborhood - street after street with single-family houses, white picket fences and well-cared-for lawns.

Nothing is ever quite what it seems in the City of Heroes, of course, so there needs to be something sinister going on in suburbia 🙂 A few possibilities:

    1) A Stepford Wives kind of place - it is a Nemesis plot somehow.

    2) The underground Oranbega zone (as per @Spaghetti Betty's suggestion) is located directly below suburbia. So a very literal "evil lurks beneath the surface" vibe. As an added bonus, the presence of underground sorcerers probably keeps the moles away, which is great for property values because no one likes moles ruining their lawn.

I was going to say, I'd prefer more be added to the zones we have now, especially KW, but I really liked these ideas.

  8. Also, perhaps a damage/-defense set?

    damage/accuracy

    damage/-defense

    damage/recharge

    accuracy/-defense/recharge

    damage/-defense/endurance

    endurance/recharge/-defense

I'd also like to see a knockback set that trades damage for more endurance reduction, useful in powers like Hurricane and Force Field Dispersion Bubble.  Not really a dual-use set though I suppose.

    Something like:

    knockback/endurance

    knockback/recharge

    knockback/accuracy

    knockback/endurance/recharge

    knockback/endurance/recharge/accuracy

    chance for -def

  9. Something that gives a global defense bonus should be as or more difficult to earn than Born in Battle/Portal Jockey, and the bonus would be super small.  But let's brainstorm!

    Accolade:  Hero

Grants 2% to all typed defense

    Requires:

    Gallant (Achievement)

    Saved the World (Accomplishment)

    Positron's Pal (Accomplishment)

    Justiciar (PvP)

    Historian (History)

    Lifesaver (Exploration)

    Accolade:  Unlimited Power

Grants 2% to all typed defense

    Requires:

    Dastardly (Achievement)

    Archvillain (Accomplishment)

    Usurper (Accomplishment)

    Blackguard (PvP)

    All Consuming (Exploration)

    Ragnarok (Exploration)

    Powerful (Exploration)

    Roar of the Beast (Exploration)

Unfortunately from what I can tell all the villain history badges are already tied to existing accolades so I traded it for more exploration badges.

The timer was long because we couldn't complete it in all one sitting due to time schedules. Traps was absolutely essential in order to stop the regeneration for the final phase. Personally satisfied with this victory as a testament to the strength of Martial Arts.

    Team Comp:

    Invuln/Ice Tanker
    Emp/Sonic Defender
    Ice/Traps Corruptor
    Martial Arts/Dark Scrapper

    GG!

Is there a benefit to running with enemies buffed, like more xp or influence earned?  Or is it solely for the challenge aspect?
