[Lore Question] Is Batallion the Nictus Fleet?
Jiro Ito replied to ThatGuyCDude's topic in General Discussion
The original intent was Twilight Son sold out the rest of the Kheldians to be fuel for the Battalion fleet. I feel like Homecoming is changing the narrative to be something more like the Nictus are the Coming Storm, as the scope of what's required for Battalion, additional incarnate powers, Dream Doctor using the Dagger of Jocus to open a doorway to the Shadow Shard and fuse with Rularuu to eat the Battalion might be a little outside Homecoming's capacity. Something with the Nictus actually being the Storm seems more doable. -
I could get behind a power that builds a cottage though. The old SWG rangers had a campsite kit they could unpack, and everyone sitting in the campsite got boosts to buffs, healing, etc while onsite.

that was just a direct quote from the AMA, not a personal opinion. i'd kinda prefer incarnate powers be disabled for all but hardmode or incarnate stuff, and really only want to see more incarnate powers if we get more incarnate content in which to use them.

File a petition and a GM will do it for you. I've had mine changed.

Genesis was coming next, and the basic concept for the slot was creating “patches” or fields that buffed allies and debuffed foes. The Core branches of Genesis powers would get larger areas of effect, while the Radius branches would let you make up to 4 small patches at once at the very rare level. Imagine Sleet or Tar Patch + Accelerate Metabolism or Regeneration Aura + Incarnate-worthy, and you’re on the right track. https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Lore_AMA/Sorted#4 In the 2013 Ask Me Anything ("Loregasm"), further powers were discussed. Q: Do you have any insight as to what the Omega Incarnate slot might be? The others seemed badass enough already. PBAOE kill everything? A: Jeff Hamilton would know. I don't remember if this was Omega or not, but I know one of the latter tiers did allow you to nuke minions through your magnificence. There were also abilities that let you trade off one stat for another. (HOSUN) A: I've said this in a couple places but the primary trees which had been sketched out on paper were Arete (instant recharge on all powers for a period), Majesty (cause foes to instantly fight for you and then self-destruct), Infinity (summon dopplegangers of yourself), Transcendence (immune to everything and can attack into Phase), and Fulfilment (major PBAOE +Level Shifts).

Variations in a custom group. There has to be an easier way.

Variations in a custom group. There has to be an easier way.
Jiro Ito replied to SirArthurIV's topic in Mission Architect
There are a couple of shortcuts you can take, as opposed to starting over each time. One is to save your "thug" outfit template, then you can load the outfit for each new character. Another trick I find helpful when creating similar minions is to create one NPC and save them, save your group, then reopen the saved minion and go to the last page where you enter their name, group affiliation and description. Go down to the Save Path, and let's say your save path says "Thug", add a "1" after that so it says "Thug1" and this functions as a Save As feature. When you go back to the enemy group page, you'll know have two characters there, both named Thug with the same powersets and appearance. You can then make small alterations like changing a shirt color or whatever, without having to recreate each NPC from scratch. Any randomizer would randomize the full spectrum of available options, so not sure you want your thugs with fish faces and bird wings and robot legs, but, maybe you do! It's not an option at this time unfortunately. -
Dear Devs: New Enhancement Set Idea and Request
Jiro Ito replied to Dogooder's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Unless you had an enhancement for each type of travel? 1 Jump only, 1 Run only, 1 Fly only, 1 Teleport only... I'm not sure what kind of mileage you'd get out of 6 options for travel. Now, a Trick or Treat taunt set, finally one with end reduction in it? Gimme! taunt/rech taunt/end taunt/acc taunt/range/acc/rech rech/end/acc/range Chance for Fear -
TV Guide: Zhym's index to TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews

i read them all! -
It would be nice to be able to add a friend to a TF midway through if they happen to log in later than we started, and if we have an open spot. That said, it wouldn't be fair to award TF badges, merits, TF-specific rewards (Dsyncs, Market Crash purple recipes, etc) to people who don't participate the whole way through. They would be limited to xp and drops from enemies defeated. Feasible according to existing code? I dunno!

Ideas for a Flashback character challenge
Jiro Ito replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
I usually run the Enemies Buffed setting on TFs at level 50 to counteract incarnate abilities. The extra difficulty makes it fun. When I did all the flashback badges on my badger, the No Enhancements was by far the most difficult. I for sure recommend doing that separate from No Inspirations, so you can rely on one or the other. A character who can manage their endurance through their AT will have the easiest time. The other settings are just kind of inconvenient, more than anything else. -
TerroirNoir's "Cable Channel of AE!" Reviews. Part 2.

appreciate the thought! i'm trying to put together a long form something-or-other, but I'm slowwwww -
If it doesn't wait until all 3 are collected, you may have to chain 3 individual collections together, with the clue appearing after the last one.

Can it be the matrix room?

What would be the most annoying thing to find in an AE mission?
Jiro Ito replied to PartyKake's topic in General Discussion
The most annoying? Defeat All AE missions 🤪 -
How are these unbalanced when they are available to all players and accounts? The option to disable incarnate abilities already exists when setting up any task force or Ouro mission. You are already free to play this way, while others may play the way they like.

No, but you can access different standard power colors depending on which AT set you pick them from (ie electric melee for brutes is red, electric melee for tanks is blue). @VeiledOwl has a great post on this.

Is It Time to Resurrect Statesman?
Jiro Ito replied to The Witchfire's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm not sure why Statesman would come back, he wasn't doing anything interesting. Most of his cool action was in the past. This is our time #goonies. It would be neat to tag along with him on some of his past adventures in WWII, Brass Monday, etc via Ouroborus. Otherwise, I think he got an excellent heroic sendoff in Who Will Die, and there's no reason to bring him back. I think it would be far more interesting to continue down Manticore's path of self-destruction after Shalice's death, see him fall to Rogue, hook up with Countess Crey, reassign the Crey Task Force to Synapse where it gets very personal, then BOOM Shalice is alive and she's all, wtf Justin?? -
I struggle with this as well; in my most recent arc I had one comment that the final boss was too easy, and another say too hard. My arc was low level, so you get a range of low level players trying it out vs exemped incarnates, which makes it impossible to balance. My imperfect solution is to an add ally and make the boss hard, that way player can use the ally if needed, or ditch 'em in the map and solo.

Thermal Radiation > Power of the Phoenix: Fixed a bug where the Defender version of this power was only usable on foes. This was hilarious in practice though -
