  1. It is trivial to post 500 bids at 10 for something, anything. Costs you 5000 inf and you can do it 5 minutes out of Outbreak. And as a side bonus, it keeps other speculators away since they (erroneously) assume that there is real demand for the item. The dominator ATOs are really not very good as a set, and are mostly useful as being one converter away from being another ATO set.
  2. Lately I find I’m buying more and more off my shopping list at my shopping list prices. I was pricing out the Mako’s Bite complex and eventually ended up with 5-10 of each piece at 5 inf.
  3. Interesting theory but I cannot imagine it is true. The last 5 of everything would be littered with 1s and 5s.
  4. Nope, I'm pretty sure that's for real. It's a super thin market.
  5. Thanks for this -- it's very useful. I rarely spend any time thinking about the enhancement aspect and focus on the bonuses almost exclusively, so this opened up the discussion.
  6. I tend to follow a system when I start a new alt: 1-2: Outbreak. Level to 2, sell enhancements to vendor, sell inspirations on AH, start marketing. Turn on double xp. Turn notoriety to as many as I think I can handle, usually +0/x3. 2-5/6: Initial contact missions. Two or three missions gets you to KR. 5/6-9/10: Pick up radio, run three radio missions and bank job for travel power. 9/10-15: Pick up Hollows contact, teleport there. Run Hollows arc. It is really easy to outlevel this, so manage your double xp. Great merit bonus for finishing entire arc. 15-18: Pick up Montegue contact, teleport to SC, run Midnighter arc until "Cure Lost". 18-24: Pick up Jim Temblor, teleport to Faultline. Run Faultline arcs. Doc Delilah unlocks at 20, and grants Ouro portal at completion of her arc. Finish up with Agent G. From here, I tend to branch out.
  7. I’ve been working on a new round of alts. Paring down my supply of crafting materials. I’m only working a niche if I see there is a real dearth of supply. Yesterday someone bought out all the LotG 7.5%, so I got off a bunch of sales north of 8mm. It’s annoying because one of my new alts needs 5 of them, but I just cannot be bothered to email them! I think he bought them a little under 6mm.
  8. I actually get excited when I log in a character I haven’t tweaked yet, but I’m not at the point yet to pre buy before I’ve even played. I enjoy the marketing experience a lot though, so I might buy sets a few levels early. i do, however, start bidding on ATOs and winter os right out of Outbreak now. Level 7 is only fifteen minutes away!
  9. Can anyone tell me how crits work on attacks like Guarded Spin or Eye of the Storm for Staff Fighting? Is a crit only on the first tick of damage, is there a chance for a crit on each tick of damage, other? Thanks!
  10. Also, converters place a probabilistic limit on how much two IOs in a category (PvP, ATO, IO) can vary from each other. At some level, a Pacing of the Turtle is topologically equivalent to a LOTG 7.5%.
  11. *Throws tons of pennies into the air!"
  12. Bolded and italicized for truth. At a certain point, and that point is easily within the grasp of everyone, accumulating inf is just about accumulating inf. And I'm totally with your slider suggestion. I was literally just about to post it in the suggestions page.
  13. Maybe if I added the data link (slightly different build)... http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1552&c=713&a=1426&f=HEX&dc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illain Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.7 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! 16. Influence is saved for if/when I need to buy merits for 1mm a pop from the merit broker. Then they would be used to either buy converters or recipes from the merit broker. My loose guidelines is anything that is fixed price through a vendor is fair game, although I restricted myself a little further than that. The overall point was I wanted to see how hard it would be to build an uber build without farming or PLing or playing the market -- just through normal but educated play and use of the conversion system. Not hard at all. But I also hoped to demonstrate how ridiculously easy it is to do the same with the market. At this point in HC, only a brand new player should have any hiccups about optimizing their build at any point in the game without any regards for inf, imo.
  17. Brilliant. I'd steal that, but I'm not that Ebil. I currently have Power Broker and Compound Interest on Everlasting.
  18. I've been playing around with a necro/kinetics because I wanted "fast zombies". It's pretty fun, but it is a TON of micromanagement and just messy aggro as your rage fueled minions chase a runner all over the map and bring back ten more. Just hit 32 and it's going to be a long slog until 38 when we get fulcrum shift.
  19. Crafting rare recipes and selling the resulting rare IO is one way to go, but not a very good method any more since converters were introduced. There are much better methods for making inf. i’ve got a kinds of bids for things that are far less than what it would cost to craft them. I buy them all the time, then either relist them or convert them to something better. Check out a converter guide. Robotech master has one on the guides forum that is stickies.
  20. I'd like to second some of the comments about using the AH. It can be a LOT easier and faster, especially if you are running as a tanker, which is not generally considered to be a steam roller. A really simple way to make tens or hundreds of millions (this is incredibly sub optimal method) guaranteed*. 1. Craft every recipe that drops that does not require rare salvage up to level 49. 2. Invest in some enhancement converters. You can buy them in the AH for under 100k a pop, or you can convert merits for them at 3 converters per merit. I recommend at least 10 per IO. 3. If the IO is uncommon, craft by category (right button on the top, drop down menu to the second option) until it is a rare IO. 4. If the IO is rare, move it to the AH and check the trading history. If every trade is over 1mm, offer it at 900k. 5. If not every trade is over 1mm, put in back in inventory and craft by rarity (right button on the top, first option). Repeat step 4. 6. Wait. You should sell everything either instantly or overnight. * Not an actual guarantee.
  21. Are you talking about the bug where there is no history listed, or the bug where an erroneous history is listed? For the former, the work around almost everyone uses is to put in a bid for something like 5. If you then select your bid, it will show you the trading history. You can even update it for something that changes quickly like salvage. If it's the latter, that's a real problem, but doesn't happen very often. I *believe* it has to do with the fact that the AH is not housed on its own server, and there is some bleed through. Miracle +recovery is probably the best known example. In my opinion, if you don't want to sell something for 600k, offer it for higher. Having a perfectly accurate trading history would still result in you getting screwed sometimes if you just want to dump it for 5 inf. That's the chance you take. Just about everything has pretty well established ranges right now. If you have any specific questions, let me know!
  22. ^ This. I'm trying to sell as many IOs and inspirations as I can now, and saving "everything else" for later(tm). I'd much rather extract 12-15mm of value per pack now than hold onto them for 6-8 months and try to extract 25mm per pack. I've never used the winter o's much, except occasionally a set of Avalanche. Believe you me, Avalanche is now going into just about every alt I have beginning when they hit lvl 7. Sadly, my computer has just given up the ghost, so no gaming for me until I replace it.
  23. What's the problem that you are looking to solve? Make them 50% more powerful? Just curious.
  24. I almost always use Form of the Body. My usual attack chain for groups is Guarded Strike for defense, Mercurial Blow (which has an Achilles Heel in it), Precision Strike, then Eye for the -res debuff.
