Strengths/Weaknesses/"Best" Stalker primaries?
Yomo Kimyata replied to Seroster01's topic in Stalker
My only lvl 50 stalker is staff/bio, and I love it. AoE comes early with Guarded Spin at lvl 2, and it's a great power. Eye of the Storm takes until 18, unfortunately, but once you have it, you're pretty much good to go. -

"A lot of the time, I don't even notice when I finish a mission and an ambush is spawned. " Nope, specifically referring to post-mission ambushes. -
Ebil Wednesday #4 : Walking in a Winter Wonderland

It's accurate to-hit debuff, so the set contains to hit debuff, accuracy, recharge, endurance reduction in varying amounts. The proc is negative energy damage, which I would consider the least resisted. I couldn't tell you everything that it goes in, but seeker drones and lots of necromancer powers come to mind. Set bonuses are decent, with 4-slotting getting 6 1/4% global recharge. -

So you're one of the rabbits that's been peeing in my cabbage patch! It's a great micro-niche, but it's entirely dependent on demand. Cloud Senses is underrepresented since it caps at level 30, so you're not going to get it through rare roulette at lvl 31 or 41. I like to work the whole Accurate To Hit Debuff complex (buy Siphon Insight at lvl 30, [craft and] convert to Cloud Senses, convert to the proc. One could easily and quickly dump a few hundred of the proc on the market, but that would drown the demand. I don't monopolize that market, but it certainly sells less than 50 units a day and possibly as low as 10. The Accurate Defense Debuff complex is similar with Shield Breaker and Analyze Wekaness, but the proc is less popular since it's lethal damage. As to the value of Cloud Senses proc, it's great. I put that <bleep> in everything. -

QOL idea -- "Ambush Warning!"
Yomo Kimyata replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Considering my penchant for using market-related NPC chat for my forum signature, I seem to be remarkably good at mentally filtering out NPC chat. I'm certainly not observant enough to distinguish between "Get 'em!" and "I can't believe I'm dating a Skull!" -
A lot of the time, I don't even notice when I finish a mission and an ambush is spawned. Lots of the time, I'm already teleporting out to the next mission, leaving some purple Malta behind to screw up someone's day. I realize the point of the ambush is surprise, but how about once the ambush attacks, a large text popup saying "Ambush!". I, for one, would probably notice that a lot more, and I'd be much more inclined to clean up my own mess as a result.

I think I found the objectively worst mission yesterday from Tina Mac. It was a timed mission, on a large Oregano map, Malta enemies, find 12! captives. And I couldn't auto-complete it. I just logged.

Always kill sappers first. If you don’t see the sapper, he’s blocked by line of sight and is hiding. If there are two mob groups close to each other, the sappers will be close enough that your AoE spillover will aggro both. I’m sure there are many more sapper truisms!

The whole thread is flexing! And that's because HC makes accumulating "wealth" so simple. It this point it's just bits in a counter.
-
The only problem with stalkers is that they may, in fact, be overpowered. Certainly the best melee class, with the possible exception of VEATs.

I am. But then again, I'm a bit of an infoholic.

My moment of clarity was when, overnight, the apparent cap on common salvage went from 10k to 5k. It is possible that it wasn't a dev initiative and that an individual set up a cap at 5,000, but it was more than 10,000 deep before I gave up trying to lift it. Anyway, prices on anything can vary at Dev whim, and I'm ok with that, but I am not relying on anything. All of my alts carry at least 500mm. Mad money. I also start out at zero. First thing I do out of tutorial is to sell my enhancements to a vendor and then sell my large inspirations on the AH. Then they work their way up to 500mm, while picking up sets on the way. It's all way too much, which is why I try to avoid active marketing anymore once each alt gets their nut. I probably have a few hundred bn in emails and bids on things that could go away overnight and I probably wouldn't even notice. But what really grinds my gears is when I see a really fat open market niche that no one is using, and I just have to get my hands dirty.

Influence sink added to base special base items
Yomo Kimyata replied to plainguy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I’m all for anything to spend inf on. I don’t understand #2 though. Since it’s all fungible anyway on the AH, why do you want a salvage converter? -
Having troubles on my phone, but that last quoted tip is priceless. To OP, I put them all on the market at above 250. See my guide in the guide section! Having troubles so I will add the link later.

I’ve spent a lot of time taking staff out for a whirl. Staff/fire brute (lvl 50 farmer), staff/regen brute (lvl 45), and staff/bio in three forms: stalker (50), scrapper (40), and tanker (30). Staff feels best on a stalker, which really has a good single target chain. It feels good on a brute, since the AoE is fast, furious, and constant. It feels about the same on a tanker and a scrapper: ok. I play exclusively in Form of the Body, and usually choose to use Eye of the Storm to execute rather than Sky Splitter. The -res helps a bit with damage. SR should be a good match with staff, as is WP. My regen sometimes has issues with long animations keeping him from punching a healing button. You want to avoid a button heavy defense unless that’s your concept. mercurial blow takes Achilles heel proc. Three others take force feedback procs.

It is trivial to post 500 bids at 10 for something, anything. Costs you 5000 inf and you can do it 5 minutes out of Outbreak. And as a side bonus, it keeps other speculators away since they (erroneously) assume that there is real demand for the item. The dominator ATOs are really not very good as a set, and are mostly useful as being one converter away from being another ATO set.
-
Lately I find I’m buying more and more off my shopping list at my shopping list prices. I was pricing out the Mako’s Bite complex and eventually ended up with 5-10 of each piece at 5 inf.
-
Interesting theory but I cannot imagine it is true. The last 5 of everything would be littered with 1s and 5s.
-
Nope, I'm pretty sure that's for real. It's a super thin market.
-
Thanks for this -- it's very useful. I rarely spend any time thinking about the enhancement aspect and focus on the bonuses almost exclusively, so this opened up the discussion.
