Parry is a great power, even with a typed defense build. But it's for safety, not DPS. In theory, you could get 30%+ melee defense every 1.5-2 seconds, that stacks, for 10 seconds. It's bonkers to keep 100% melee defense up constantly!

Developers have warned about the bugginess of the email system since they cobbled it together in the first place. Measure twice, cut once, and don't be surprised if it all shrivels up and dies overnight one of these days.

I don't work nearly as much or as hard as I once did, but on working days I'll probably go through 2-5k converters. All of my characters at this point are self-funded, but it's only the factories that I get a little squirrelly about when I'm holding under 1k converters. The only time I'll aggregate 10k on an alt is if I'm doing some sort of project and I want to track how many converters I used. As far as unused converters, I probably have plenty of them spread out everywhere. But then again, I'm a sloppy worker sometimes, and I'd much rather have them and not need them than the reverse. My inventory management would make my manager scream. Well, to me it's not the 1000 clicks, it's the switching to at least 5 different alts in order to do it. Generally the characters I have that need converters are the ones with the least amount of spare AH slots to buy them. But they people I really pity are those selling 10k converters at 10 a stack!

A few thoughts: -- Swap the sets for Ablative Carapace and Parasitic Aura. Try to find an extra slot to add to PA and put in a Theft of Essence proc. Now that will be a blue bar filler up every 90 seconds or so to go with your DNA Siphon every 30-40 seconds. -- I'd split the Superior Brute's Fury into 3 and 3. Probably in the Whirling Hands. -- Even in Offensive mode, you are probably going to be over slotted/powered in endurance reduction. -- I'd try to work in a Superior Winter's Bite in one of the ST attacks. These will cut your recharge by a bit, but will help with your melee defense quite a bit.

I stand corrected, thank you! I did not think that Running and Sprints would convert to Running, much like I wouldn't expect Damage Resistance to convert to Defense. I made an assumption that was inaccurate.

EXIT: this post is wrong. actually, no. That hasn’t changed at all. Quickfoot will always convert to Celerity by category, and Springfoot will always convert to Unbounded Leap by category. Soaring will convert by category to one of two rares, and Jaunt will convert by category to one of two rares. So you are always one conversion from a rare. The real pain in the rear is that there are now two new categories from 15-50 that only contain one set each. And frankly, those sets are pretty much garbage, so rare roulette got more annoying with an equal chance of getting a defense set (yay!) or a leaping set (are you kidding me?).

Hey dude, welcome back. Theme trumps all and there is very little that you can't play around with that will stop you from succeeding. That said, recently the devs added new "challenge" modes, so when joining teams it's useful to ask whether or not you are expected to be l33t or optimally built or what.

Sometimes you need the slot. Sometimes I am drowning in +acc and if my last to hit is consistently 95%, then I'll take it out. But you make a valid point.

In many cases, Combat Jumping is the first defense power I take on a character. My standard build theory involves two slotting it early for the Shield Wall proc and the Kismet accuracy (both slottable at lvl 7). Later I will add either two slots (for a Reactive Defenses proc and a LotG proc) or one slot (remove the Kismet, add the Reactive Defenses and the lotG).

With the new Seismic Blast set, I was super happy to get Schist Storm for a Storm/Seismic defender on Everlasting. But I was even happier to see someone else took it on Excelsior, because no one wants to feel like they are alone with their great ideas.

I'm going to wait until towards the end of the event before I decide what to do. I'm already making inf hand over fist, but that's hardly the point any more.

Both regular content. It is possible that my dark armor guy (+3/x8) had two or more singularities on him, but the scrapper (+2/x3) definitely got knocked down through Grounded while grounded. Standing still doing nothing, singularity gets summoned, I get knocked down. I'm not complaining, mind you, but I missed this in the patch notes.

I've been looking at it from the other side -- opponents that have summoned it (Family Bosses, Longbow bosses). I've been bounced around through two KB IOs on my Dark Armor tank and through Grounded (9.1 protection, standing still and not in the air) on my Elec Armor scrapper.

Or Repelly, whatever. I've been noticing this a lot since the new issue dropped, but maybe it's because I'm playing different characters. I didn't see anything in the patch notes, or maybe I missed it.

Die Hard 2 is also a Christmas movie. Just sayin'.
