You may very well have changed my life if I can figure out how to make one.

Farm status? The XP on the DFB is only fair; and it drops if you stick around past level 12. What? They're selling the Single Origin enhancements for big stacks of inf? Sorry, I just do not see DFB as anything close to farm status. Sure, some folks like Snarky do it 4x for the various buffs, but odds are a lot of the folks doing these don't even slap in the Single Origins they do get. Because they're going to be trash by the time they get out. Recognize that if anything in game gives good rewards, there's always going to be people that do nothing but that. Before they nerfed the XP in DFB, there were some folks who used it to get to 50. No idea how many runs that took. Probably 12-15, maybe more. But calling it "farm status", that's a bit off in my opinion. It's like calling MSR or Hami Raids "farm status". And while we're here - what's your beef with farms? Haven't we talked that particular meat into the ground already? If the HC Devs had any issue with farms, (and they obviously did) they would address them. (and they did) DFB? Nah. Not even close to farm status. DFB is doing what they designed it to do. Giving players a chance to level up fairly quickly so they don't memorize Twinshot's ridiculous sense of humor just through sheer repetition. It's also the first chance new players get at dodging incoming damage. Those green bubbles can be the death of a new character - just like the green stuff in Keyes, and the pink stuff in MoM and Apex. It's excellent practice and frankly, I'd rather see more stuff like this in lower level content so players can get used to the various mechanics they'll encounter later.

I always had the understanding that the Tuatha would kill her. Someone, whose name escapes me at the moment, said it, and I know they were someone I respected as being in-game sharp and up on that kind of thing. But, as far as making Sally friendly, the best I'm hoping for is some dialogue from her, like "You again?"

Because I'm not terribly good at using the costume creator, I make this suggestion for my new character, "Naughty Zoot". There are no one piece garments that go from shoulder to ankle. There are robes - but all of the robes are nowhere near how this looks. As you can see below, she is showing way too much leg! Sadly the "cape" that makes the costume look more dress like limits the options for chest details and what not. I've no idea what I'm doing here, but a simple one piece tunic would be a good start.

Since I rarely run either of these, anything to incentivize running them has got to be a good thing. But can you tack on some reward merits?

more tiny animals to choose from ...for what? To use as an object to propel as a grav controller? For a character's head in the costume creator? For the costume toggles? I really don't grasp the intent of the question.

To me, the easiest solution is to simply make fly a pet inherent. Pets shouldn't need their "master" to have group fly. If the master can fly, the pet should also be able to fly. Why should an MM, who prefers fly to super speed, have to use a power pick just to get their pets with them? If you want to read about my thoughts, look in this spoiler.

Change Death from Below's Cadaver Counter badge
Ukase replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So, may I share what I do when I am tired of the incompetence or willful ignorance of others? I just solo it. Really, it's super easy, but you will find it easier only be being a 50, with more than a few temp powers at your disposal. Mind you - I'm only talking about the Dr. Meinst part, not the entire trial. Tinder is a pushover for probably any exemplared 50. A few envenomed daggers and some reds, he's toast. You'll need some lucks, maybe. Depends on your AT/Build. There's just as many mobs in there as a team of 8, so you're going to have be resourceful. Sometimes that means inspirations in email, and sometimes it means just taking the defeat, retoggling and finishing up. Depends on your build. It is a pain, but you will know exactly what to do and more importantly, what not to do. You can kite Meinst if you have fly/hover or a jet pack, and heck, even if you just used Nem staff and black wand, you can probably get it done. All of that is a pain in the butt. It is much easier to recruit specifically for this badge. If your concern is MMs who haven't learned how to control their pets, or fire brutes who don't know how to turn off damage auras, simply explain to them you've been screwed over too many times, nothing personal, but kick 'em. You might make two enemies and still not get the badge, but you did the best you could. There's always the pain in the butt version I laid out. -
My amusing character name this week is "Naughty Zoot". I am thinking about making her own SG...and call it The Castle Anthrax. I'm just not sure about how to make a grail shaped beacon. Not like anyone could see it unless they came in the base...but there's room for some creativity there if I get motivated.

I recall playing on Rebirth server. There were times, when there were 50 players on, and other times only 5. The play experience there was a lot like it is on Indomitable. For the most part, all the players were experienced, quality players. Incarnate trials were done out of Pocket D, at roughly the same time on the weekends. MSRs were the same. I don't recall much by way of GM hunting. There certainly was no Null the Gull. It's very different in that regard. I suspect, when the player base is small, things go like that - you find some range of time that most can make, and players adapt/adjust accordingly, or simply do without.

I thought there was some plan in place to merge Victory with HC. I can't imagine the headaches involved with that - not to mention how attached some folks are to where they play, no matter how it might differ from the other.

Per the HC Wiki, you can see End Mod has a 1 in 175 chance to drop. And that doesn't even guarantee it will be your origin! That's what makes this challenge so insanely stupid. When you get one, you feel like you got a very rare recipe! Unfortunately, the HC Wiki does not (at least, not that I could find) show a drop rate for end mod recipes. Even on my farmers, I seldom see them. The market reflects the rarity of them. I do not grasp why end mods are so rare, other than typically, most folks wouldn't use more than 3 in a given power due to the diminishing returns of slotting more. And, in most powersets, there's only a couple of powers that might accept them. Unlike the Acc/dam/recharge/end reduction - which many powers can take. Still, simply due to endurance issues, this challenge is best suited for AT/powersets that can minimize the pain from lack of endurance. A kin would be very painful, because transference comes fairly late. But a rad defender gets AM at level 4. A bio tank, or any bio melee could use adaptation to reduce the end use to a degree. I don't think Rad armor gives quite enough end recovery soon enough to be of consideration. And electric armor...well, I couldn't make it work, but maybe someone else can.

The option is there, but I never did. I might have done one DFB, but I've never done more than 2 in a row, mainly because I didn't want to outlevel the Hollows contacts, or Atlas contacts for that matter. But, upgrading is not allowed - because it's essentially an expensive trip to a store. (super convenient, but still like a store) By finishing all the contacts in The Hollows is not only a badge, but a free 20 reward merits. Same with the Atlas Park contacts. The problem with Atlas is you have to go through Ouro to get Sondra Costel or Officer Fields, because there's no way to do both. (Well, you might be able to if you shut off XP, but outside of some crawl teams, I never have shut it off. At least, I don't remember ever having turned it off) For the purposes of my challenges, while my character has no use for the merits, I have alts that would certainly use them. So, at 50, my marketer might "buy" all those merits exchanged into converters for the going price. Getting the inf from the marketer is fine, because I can't spend any inf anyway in the course of the challenge. Again - if anyone is silly enough to try this challenge, be sure to find an AT/powerset combo that can mitigate endurance issues. It's the biggest hassle of the entire challenge.

Anyone get a request to release a name you just got?
Ukase replied to Jawbreaker's topic in General Discussion
I guess I'm at an age where the closest thing my parents ever shared with me on a computer was a list of stocks complete with quarterly earnings, EPS, and a host of other data I had to input into a computer that actually used disks that did indeed flop. If they're old enough to type in your user info - seems like they'd have had their own account. But hey, that's just me, obviously, this is something that some folks apparently do. It would just never have occurred to me if you didn't mention it. -
There goes the way of madness!

They must have an interesting market there. The total inf number seems terribly low by HC standards. Only 63 Billion? If my math is right, that's less than 9m per character.

Anyone get a request to release a name you just got?
Ukase replied to Jawbreaker's topic in General Discussion
While this is sad this happened to the player, but the idea of sharing log-in info with anyone is kind of disturbing. Why? Why would they do this? It's free to download and play. There is never a reason to do this. It's probably a younger kid. At least, that would be my guess. It's not my place to urge you to cede the name or urge you not to. In this specific context, I would lean towards no initially - primarily to my befuddlement of anyone foolish enough to share login info. But, if they're on a different server, I probably wouldn't care. -
The question is primarily with my fire/natty corr in mind. Obviously, with an AV/GM or even an EB, use the debuffs. But bosses don't often provide any great big amount of HP to whittle away, particularly on teams. If it is the case that my fire blast can do X damage, and the debuff of Corrosive Enzymes reduces resistance 18.75%, then if I take the time to use the debuff first, my attack would do X+Y. I would say that's worth it, unless X is so high, like I'm damage capped, that the extra Y wouldn't be a factor. The Spore Cloud is the -regen, -toHit and -Damage (stacks with CE above) and who doesn't want -damage coming in? Especially on a core with only tough to reduce the incoming damage (and the usual IOs that do that as uniques) When solo, I don't often bother with these, as I'm just trying to get stuff done. I'm not trying to chase +4's, as the merits are the same either way, and so are the badges. I've been playing mainly blasters for so long, actually having a debuff besides the envenomed dagger is taking some getting used to. Should I be using these on bosses? In combat, I can't really see a difference. I definitely see the difference with AVs. But bosses..not really seeing anything. What is the general opinion on this?

So, my intent was to go through Perez park for the explorations. Level 10 at the moment, so since my warshade doesn't have Super Speed, I simply got the stealth from the buff station in my SG. But when I shift forms to Nova to fly...(hard to teleport easily in winding paths of trees) there's no stealth. Zero. And for some inexplicable reason, I can't use my base/sg/mission/team teleports either. Why are nova and I presume dwarf forms unable to make use of the buffs and the temps? Is this a bug? Cuz it sure bugs me!

So, I have struggled and struggled with this for ....2 years? And finally, at the encouragement of ATC, I figured I would give it one last shot, and still struggled. And then I said...wait..someone else has likely had the same problem as me, and I read through all the posts until I found it. In French, no less. Thankfully you included the English translation, because the only French I remember is the profanity and the pleasantries of greetings. Now I see myself on the board, just need to look through and find a way to enter the character name and the global

Then something in the FAQ threw me off. I could have sworn I read I would have to settitle to each badge. I do appreciate the correction!
-
Yeah, but CoB, while a fantastic tool for those who already have the badges set up for a given character, starting with a character that has 1627, I think....that's way too many times to "settitle" manually. I am pretty sure that's the identical method we used with badgehunter back in the day. What we need is a some kind of magical script that parses the names off the character's info and then magically updates it as we play so we don't have to enter anything. (and yeah, not going to hold my breath, lol. But it would be nice!)

Thanks for the reminder!

Introducing: Hardcore Paragon / Rogue Isles
Ukase replied to venetiasilver's topic in General Discussion
Actually, given that the merit vendor isn't prohibited, this is really just an expensive way to play. I could just snag merits, which is easy enough to do with all the GM hunts, and really only suffer the first 10-15 levels - which go by quickly. There needs to be more restrictions. Just use what drops, and nothing else. No Merit vendor, no AH, no AE, no teaming. Then you're doing it hard core. -

This, sadly, needs clarification. Since I can use University, odds are around 25 or so, I'd use common IOs or even sets if I'm lucky enough to get the proper drops. So, can we use converters if they're earned - via merits? What about hami-os in the 47 and up range? Or Titan-os, even?
