  1. It's okay that my opinion is different. I just have a ton of characters, so while the selection to show it is easy, it's a lot of "easy" things to do. I suppose there are other folks where the reverse would also be a lot of "easy" things to do. I am also in the minority in not really grasping why other than people making silly judgements about your character, why keeping it a secret is a thing. But, again, why is showing it a thing for me? I guess because a lot of my characters are from when HC opened the doors. Other than that...not a thing. It's really not a big deal. There are so many other things that I'd change before this, I promise. Man...if I could be king for a day...I don't think anything in this game would get changed. I'd be busy working on our economic policies, and some social policies, too!
  2. Interesting. I am thinking of how it would play out if a vendor were changed to increase the price of rare salvage to 500K. I wonder if the price on the AH would go up, or down. Now, that day-dreaming aside, I think I'd like to introduce a level of tedium as a suggestion to Okie and other players. /vault So, we have room for 100 salvage, in addition to what our characters can carry. I've used this in so many silly ways. Some characters of mine have stashed all the rares they receive in there, just to see if they can beat the personal record of 46 rare drops before they reach level 50. I have gotten in the habit of just dropping my rares in the vault, often to my detriment, as I'll end up wanting to craft something and forget to look in there. It's happened enough where I made an SG just for crafting, and my "crafting" characters now belong to it and use the salvage within if they need something. Very tedious at times, I assure you. And I am "flush" as Okie puts it. I do this kind of tedium to keep the inf out of the hands of other marketers who would like nothing more than my inf in their pockets! You cannot have it! Unless of course, I am in need of something you have..then, perhaps. If one can successfully make it routine to toss rare salvage in the vault, and check the vault before crafting, it's not terribly time consuming. The only thing I'm likely to ever vendor is common salvage and GM recipes. I'm still kicking myself for not listing the Hamidon pet recipe when it was going for 100M. And I am grateful that purple and pvp recipes don't show up on the vendor list to sell. Since I don't have an issue with ever selling rare salvage anywhere, as I use it all, (eventually) I'm good with Okie's suggestion.
  3. So, I was a bit curious about this. But not in a good way, I'm afraid. I find that during the "speedy labyrinth" runs, sometimes, I find fogs fairly easily, just by literally taking random doors. And sometimes, this comes up empty. I'll be on a league of roughly 28-32 folks, and we'll get the level shifts fairly quickly. But I'll feel like a free-loader, because at most I find 1 or 2. I've tried using these fog /locs you have, but most of the time, nothing is there. I get that their placement is random. But do we know how many fogs are present at one time? Do we know if it depends on the number of players in zone? You've done an incredible amount of work on this pop-menu, and rather than pester Cobalt, figured I'd just ask here. It would be nice to just zip around and have a good hunch where they'll be, as opposed to relying on RNG/luck.
  4. I know it appears as if I've necro'd a thread. Didn't make sense to me to start a new thread with this question. I have an ice/MA corr on the test server now. Shoal Rush IS a strong debuff, granted. But how is it a heal for the team? (I was on test, and unteamed) I look at the detailed info tab, and there's nothing about it being a team heal. The team heal is Soothing Wave. And for whatever reason on the test server, I've skipped it. (Only level 25 or so, plenty of time to pick it up, but it's been completely unnecessary so far - but I haven't been pushing things either, nor have I teamed with anyone on test.) I'd also be curious after some time has gone by if anyone has changed their tune on MA, and if there are any pitfalls to avoid.
  5. So, this has happened before (a couple of years ago on an ITF); still not real sure of the cause, though I do know the solution. Today, I had two accounts running, but only one on a map. The 2nd was on the character selection screen. I was in the labyrinth, fighting the minotaur, and when I zoned into the arena to attack, my target changed from the mino to a league mate. So, I targeted the mino again - same thing. (same league mate, too) I then targeted the mino again, and used my mouse to fire, instead of the number keys, and had to continue to use the mouse instead of my keyboard until the fight was over to implement the solution. And the solution is to close the 2nd account completely. I've had situations like this happen before, back when I was afk farming on 2 accounts, and actively playing on my first account. Shutting the other accounts down resolves the issue. I'm fairly certain this has nothing to do with the labyrinth, as it's happened before. But I can't reproduce it. I'm only putting it here because of the solution I've found for it, as it might be helpful to others.
  6. I knew it wasn't the proper spelling of Whisper, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember the proper spelling of your handle. My apologies.
  7. Sadly, I'm not a fan of the crash. If your end isn't up, bad things could happen. I've built a PB before, and it's possible to get the resists up to cap for several attributes, but without lightform, no status protection. It's odd. I don't have a problem with other end crashes on other ATs. Probably says more about me than the AT. I have my current PB on the back burner; with the new sheer willpower accolade, there may be a case to be made for bringing it out. Time will tell.
  8. If you play on Excelsior in the afternoon/evenings, you'll eventually come across Goddess Laucianna or Queen Maya, or Whisper or any other number of what seems to me to be predominately Kheldian players. And you'll also be aware that everyone is encouraged to make one, play one and become a kheldian. I have never been a player to get too distracted about a costume for my characters. I often just use the RNG and adjust from there. Sometimes, I'll use the SG costume of Cosmic Council and change the colors and the disturbingly bad hairstyles they have. And since I have no shame, I will admit to going to the discord of other CoH servers, looking in their costume threads and trying to copy some of the more interesting looks. One of the things that's held me back from a kheldian was the appearance of the forms, and the lack of status protection if you wanted to go as a human only form. So, before I make the suggestion that's probably already been made, is there a reason why the dwarf form can't be colored red or something? And the nova form also take on a different shade than the default? It's also a 10 prismatic loss that led me to discover the form changes over-ride the costume toggle. The toggle remains on when you switch back, which is better than nothing, but sorry - the nova form is pretty gross. And the dwarf form isn't much better. I'm sure that's just me, though. I caught wind of something about a "Red Hulk", like the Incredible Hulk we all know of, but I've never come across a Red Hulk. Which is what led me to think of a Red Dwarf. (as opposed to White Dwarf and Black Dwarf) I'm sure someone up on the lore could come up with a reason why a dwarf form shouldn't be Red, or any other color than the default white or black. But aside from lore, do we know of a reason why the dwarf and nova forms can't be adjustable?
  9. I apologize and appreciate the correction. I would have sworn it did when I posted it did, but I can only assume something confused me. On subsequent characters, it didn't give progress.
  10. It is dizzying to me that someone actually came up with this idea.
  11. This is super interesting to me. So many costume options we have, for free, unlocked out of the gate. And maybe that's why they want the player to "work"/play for some things? I didn't agree with the introduction of the prismatic as currency. I feel the reward merit could have satisfied the same transactions, but after experiencing many of the reward structures, I'm slowly having to appear inconsistent and change my mind. Without the new loot, a number of folks might not have been motivated to try the newer content after rumors/anecdotes (some exaggerated, perhaps) about how challenging it is.
  12. While I do think posting a build in the specific AT sub-forum is a better way to get more specific advice, for now, let's assume you don't even have mids and don't even know what it is. I don't enjoy playing a dom, mainly because building domination is easier on a team, and sometimes, teaming isn't a good thing for me, because I will often have to tab out without notice, at least during the day. But, one thing I do know is there is more than one way to build and play a dominator! The problem is we aren't clear on where you are as a player. We don't know your budget. We don't know what level you are or what content is giving you difficulties. All of it? some of it? In any event, just as a rule of thumb, even though perma-dom is great to have, one doesn't NEED it to be a good dominator. Often, on a team, you'll get the recharge buffs you need to get there. So, when any of my characters are dying more often than I think they should, (like once or twice per map) the first thing I think of is "what's causing this?" a. afk, phone ringing, something distracting me? If so, don't sweat it. b. Getting mezzed, then killed. If so, bring break frees, and/or consider trying to earn the Sheer Willpower accolade, something that will break the mez and protect you for 30 seconds or so. c. just getting hit too hard, too much before I can kill them. If so, look at the mission difficulty. Is it +4? Reduce it to +2 and try again. Is it +0? Then we need to consider taking the on more endurance hogs like the fight pool, and get tough and weave. If we have those, and a patron armor and are still getting clobbered - at that point, it might be time to consider learning about mids, how to get and install it, and in game, you type /buildsave and your build is then saved and can be uploaded into mids and shared on the dominator sub-forum, where players with much more experience with the dom can chime in.
  13. Fortunately, other than D-Syncs, Hami-Os, Titan-Os, and Hydra-Os, there's multiple ways to get whatever you need.
  14. For reasons that I'm unaware of the rewards for Adamastor are almost 3x of other named GMs, aside from Lusca. It's a small thing to have a number of alts parked on that platform, and log in - and if Adamastor is due to be summoned within a few minutes, great. If not, one can either make a note and log back in, port to the sg base to prevent auto-logging off, and then exit at the right time. Or, like me, often get totally distracted and miss out on Adamastor until the next day. Now, they don't camp their characters there 24/7, but they do log in on that platform and are generally ready to go. Sometimes, the platform has more than just a few at 5 minutes out, and sometimes, it's empty and a PSA call has to be put out on lfg to get the bodies there to assist if they'd like. Does that shed more light? If I have 30 alts, 10 on each account and were actually motivated to max out merits, I could conceivably bring on one from each account and get my hits in on Adamastor and collect the rewards on 3 characters, just about every waking hour. But, seriously, that's really not very fun. At least, it's not my idea of fun. I much prefer the labyrinth and Hamidon if I want reward merits and monstrous aethers. But I do have a number of alts parked on the platform, mainly because it's on the far side of the entrance and is a pain to get to. Sometimes, the PSA for Adam goes out, and I don't notice it until there are 2 minutes left until summon - so that's when I log in the alt that hasn't done it in a day.
  15. So, for those that missed it, I'm quoting myself. Thus far, after reading the comments, and getting the accolade, I have found so many great uses for it, that every character I play will get this accolade as soon as I can get it! If folks are curious, I will share.
  16. The truth is, this is a very fair question. I apologize. I didn't see the forest with all the trees in the way, and that's my fault.
  17. 6.03???!!! Why in the blue hell would you choose 6.03 and not 5 seconds. Or 1 second. Why the fraction? Just because it's the same time as Team Transport? I will never claim to understand why the folks with the power use these fractions of a second. In combat, I can stretch my brain to imagine there's a reason - balance and all that mathematical jazz. But for a teleport that's only used outside of a mission? Why allow these oddball times to persist? Clearly, there's a method to shorten it to a nice even number like 6 seconds, right? Sorry, I've no idea of how that math works on the server side. But this approach of yours - your attempts to suggest alternative ways, they're a nice thing for a newer player to read, but I already know how to get from pt A to pt B as fast as I can. I already know to scoot under the Team Transport bus. The suggestion is to make the range wider. It's a very reasonable small ask. Now, on another hand, those with super fast speed times might finish a shard tf a full minute faster. (or not), and the times are all thrown out because of the change. But, on the other hand, if it's a simple thing to stretch the radius to 30 feet, than it makes zero sense to me why they wouldn't do it.
  18. And this is something I wish we could do! I almost got killed grabbing explorations because I tried to exit through the wrong gate! It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if PvP zones became simply hazard zones with no pvp at all. But, again, that's me. Certainly not just me. But still, I certainly don't claim to speak for everyone. I have no idea what it would look like, and if it "made sense" doesn't really matter to me. I will always push for everyone to be one alignment so it's all one big giant collection of co-op zones. Even if 95% of you guys hate the idea, I'm always going to love it.
  19. You folks and your slash commands. I think they only time I use a slash command is when I'm making a macro. I have a mouse and keyboard for the other stuff. In any event, while it is accurate that a GM stated that email wasn't 100% guaranteed safe, I've kept literally billions in my email and never lost anything. All my characters can take what they need, when they need it. It's super convenient. I just wish each email could hold more than 999,999,999.
  20. So, maybe I'm not reading this properly? Or maybe you're unaware. Rather than take up a page with this picture, I'll put it in a spoiler section for illustration. Each storage bin, whether it's salvage or enhancements has its own permissions settings. See below: Simply change the permissions to allow others to "Put" so they can unload their loot as well as take it. (or don't let them take it, not my call)
  21. Are they? They are being silly about the slider, sure. I'm sure they meant nobody any offense. But the OP is 100% reasonable in suggesting this change. On a team, everyone mostly clicks exit or uses some nifty bind to exit - and what happens is the people that exit after you due to load time variances, they push you away. And if you don't move - you'll keep getting pushed about 15-20 feet. Sometimes, the player that is casting team teleport may not even say they are, and suddenly, because you exited first - you're out of range of the TT. Now, it's a small matter to trudge under the transport - as the prompt will come up every five seconds or so for 2 minutes. So, we won't "miss the bus". But as fast as some players are, some missions are complete (think Hess and those missions with just one computer to destroy) before you even arrive. As for mission teleport, we already know it doesn't need that 15 seconds or whatever it is to work. I see no reason why it wouldn't be instant, but they don't want us moving fast in the game for whatever reason.
  22. 5 what? We took him down with 3 of us this morning. He's just so easy. He's like a pinata. But, to be fair, we were all level 50, and had incarnate stuff. With lore pets.
  23. I wouldn't mind being able to add stacks of 100 either, but I don't think it will happen. I'm certainly not privy to how the servers drive the AH to function, but I suspect the reason they capped us at 10 items was storage. After all the badges and what not, I think we have 200 slots in the AH. Which means the server would have to keep track of 2000 items at present. Take it 100 per stack, and that's a pretty big increase that many players would take advantage of. Not sure it qualifies as exponential...but I'm no math wizard. But it would be a lot more stuff for the hamsters to drag as they run that wheel. The shenanigans with the uncommon salvage, and occasionally the rare salvage? Imagine being able to stash all that stuff to try and manipulate things just a little bit longer due to having that much more storage in the AH. I do feel your pain, though. It's tedious to buy them in stacks of 10, too.
  24. This is just my own opinion. Prismatics are too easy to get.
