  1. I use a razer naga with the 12 buttons on the side, and there is a corsair version of the mouse that does the same, it makes playing MMOs or arpgs a lot easier. I still have a few situational powers bound to the keyboard and that's how I played on live too. I even use the naga competitive fps games.
  2. Having both a dual pistols sentinel and blaster, the blaster with martial is much more fun to play (/martial or ninja on blasters makes anything fun). It's one of the few blasters that I don't die on even when I'm playing recklessly, and the speed, in regards to getting through anything is unmatched due to the secondary being martial combat. I don't even use the exact min/max build anymore, but an actual build I find way more fun and that character has become my main, nearing 1000 veteran levels, 99% solo player. Of the 169 characters I've made, it's easily the fastest and most fun playstyle in my opinion. The sentinel version of dual pistols is much more relaxed and does less damage by quite a bit and both have sets. I do like the sentinel too but as far as sentinels go (at 50+) my electric/electric sentinel outperforms the dual pistols sentinel, and the electric sentinel is only in the process of getting all it's sets (about half right now). The blaster version flows nicely in combat and is quite fun to play. If you like clearing things quickly, teleporting from enemy to enemy and highspeed/intense playstyles the blaster version is the way to go. Sentinel is more chill. and I am a huge fan of Equilibrium. They did use the back of the guns in many melee fights in that film, you can just pretend you're a more agile version of Preston, since there's a couple kicks.
  3. I'd have picked them instantly if they looked like my character.
  4. hey @Meknomancer Thank you, so much for posting this! Very much appreciate it!
  5. I've always had trouble getting into dominators but this truly sounds awesome. I have to find a build!
  6. I liked this combo, too, updated from what was originally posted. I was easily able to solo pretty much anything, which is always my goal. I did make DP/Martial since, though, and it fits my playstyle a lot more. Both are great!
  7. Solo players want all the badges. All the EBS are fine solo except the mummy. He's overtuned. I have videos of fighting them on the official server (triumph) when a lot of people played, they were much more manageable (solo) and that was when the game was live. Now it's an older game and MMOs in general have different criteria, I play a lot of them. Maybe 10 people are on at the hours I can play, on server I play on, most don't even speak English so I can't communicate BUT I am a solo player by nature. I have duo'd the halloween event and the mummy can be a problem then too, especially on lower characters. You get killed before you can react sometimes and that doesn't even happen to me with GMS. With sets and all that it's easy and that's probably where glacier peak is coming from, but I don't have sets on 99% of my characters. Most aren't even 50. It's one enemy in this group, just one that is the issue (The Mummy). I don't know why he can't be tuned just a bit. This is a Halloween event that happens once a year and it's supposed to be fun, have a heart. It's not like these enemies are out all the time. I don't know why anyone would want to gatekeep on this one enemy? Even with inspirations the mummy is a pain in the ass. At low levels it's hard to carry enough since you're restricted (build related pre 50) and come on, ridiculous suggestions at times I see on these forums. I can defeat the other EBs in this event without inspirations (solo), except this mummy one. He does too much toxic damage out of the door on top of the knockout blow it's a 1 shot on a tank.
  8. I'd be curious about it myself!
  9. Dual pistol/Martial, zero problems. I don't even have the best build.
  10. I want it to be solo friendly. I never see anyone in the hours I play, but generally, I play solo/duo anyway. I'm not taking stealth on any builds.
  11. Same problem and a lot of them are bosses. I haven't been able to finish this mission on this one character for 3 weeks now! No matter what difficulty they are all red or purple and mostly bosses.
  12. I love Electric/Electric and Energy/Energy Aura. I'm actually looking for a third one to play myself but I'm having trouble deciding on it.
  13. Awesome to read all their responses! I'm happy they're all doing well and some still play this!
  14. Well for me it's not really that it's melee or not melee but just the combination of storms/electric I like. I don't know a lot about corruptors and never could find one that felt fun for me specifically but I'm thinking maybe this combo might work.
  15. I have a Blaster that is this at 50, it's fun, and chaotic, kind of my favorite. It's the only blaster I ever made that didn't die often, it's kind of a rare event to die for some reason with this combo, so I assume the corruptor is good. I don't even have the fighting pool on it. In fact, I like the combination of sets so much I came to the Corruptor forum to see if anyone was making one and what might be different from the Blaster variant!
  16. I like this pose. do you remember which place you bought it? Can't be Omi, can it? I play SL. Mostly either myself or a Mandalorian and some various sci fi or fantasy stuff but I have been wanting to do a comic book themed character for so long. If you're looking for anyone to hang out with feel free to message me. Well, I'm not sure how we'd find each other! I'm on Discord if you are looking for a Shimmer there.
  17. I enjoyed reading this thread, keep it going! This is the kind of thing that interests me more than all the other typical builds.
  18. I've gotten a few brutes to 50, (SS, Elec Melee, Katana, Street Justice/EA/WP/Invuln) that are much faster at clearing everything than any tank I've played (or friends have played) or a scrapper. Only Blasters really can keep the pace I enjoy playing a Brute at. I don't understand why anyone would want to play a tank over a brute if they're committed to a brute from the start, other than if they want to group with people who partake in contrived camaraderie and attempted jests that make playing solo preferable, but that's my experience. I usually like more meaningful interactions than randoms or some big SG where people are reduced to their role, like a job. It's extremely rare to find a genuine connection. For me, as a level 50+ Brute facing the largest spawns possible, I can go AFK to receive a delivery at the door and still withstand enemy attacks without issue. I should mention that my builds aren't optimal and I don't have a lot of influence/infamy to buy the best anything, so I'm not playing with the best numbers. What more could one ask for? Not that I'm saying tanks are bad, it's a different experience. Brutes are pre Disney Star Wars, Tanks move at a pace reminiscent of Star Trek. Some days you want one over the other. Another way to compare it, at least for me (just my own opinion), Brutes are why I play games, for fun. Tanks at a point become a job and that's probably why I don't have a lot of money in this game. I'm not attempting to cause trouble with what the person said above, it just bothers me how discouraging it's written, and not entirely true, Brutes are extremely fun and there are no bumps in the road in survivability once you have even the bare minimum of slots in everything and certainly not in damage. There is no plateau I've ever experienced. Build for resist as you easily clear everything. One to fifty on each Brute I've played has been a flash. The game gets boring and old if you just keep making tanks over brutes, blasters over sentinels, or whatever class over another. It's already at the point where we need more costume parts because there are a lot of modern-day options missing and all the female stuff is too bulky which limits it all, even back on Live. I love this game more than newer games I play, and can only hope they add more to it. Also, sorry if this is not clear, I'm a terrible writer. English isn't even my first language though I've been using it for most of my life.
  19. I'd be curious to see your build if you ever share it? I made Storm/Electric and I have yet to die on that blaster too like I have on others. I find it interesting, The pacing is different but it really is effective in a non-traditional way, and goes through the levels quickly and I'm just playing solo. A Storm/Cold sounds fun because I'd love to play more of Storm (my favorite for some reason).
  20. @nihilii your post and this thread inspired me to try this type of sentinel.
  21. I thoroughly enjoy my Elec/Elec Sentinel build. It may not be your traditional setup, but it's been serving me well, especially when I'm playing solo at the end game. I've do use Voltaic Sentinel, and while I took a break from using it for a while, I found that my personal performance improved significantly when I brought it back into my strategy. I have a little ritual where I time my gameplay to a certain song, and I consistently perform better with the pet. Of course, it could just be my personal playstyle at play. I prefer an emphasis on fun in my builds over the numbers and dull, yawn tests. If you're already using it, you could experiment with not summoning the pet and see how it affects your gameplay.
  22. Some post up there (from 2022) that said Energy was kind of in the middle but I've been playing it again lately and a lot of times I can 2 shot most targets, 3 at the most, this is just fighting orange and below but mostly yellow/white enemies. still, it really is fun and does a lot, with a lot of just moving through missions and getting things done quickly. Against elite bosses, it does beat them down pretty fast too. The knockback sucks that's really it but it doesn't really bother me. I have no trouble fighting purple targets though. Pairs well with energy aura and fly/hover over combat jumping I think.
  23. It's sad in this day and age they nerf anything. I play other MMOs where they just buff and let every class solo (or duo) and everyone has fun because that's why we play games. Life is too short to destroy people's fun in a game of all places.
  24. I got rid of fighting on mine and just took the fire epic stuff in it's place, it was way, way, way, vastly more fun. These builds with fighting and leadership on them at the same time are so boring to play. To the point of a real life job being more satisfying. It's like taking a thing that is about fun (gaming) and making it a job on purpose. Other than those powers this build is fun!
  25. I play this build (with a few slots changed around) and it's so strong for my playstyle. I wish I could take Crack Whip, just because I like how it looks but I never could figure out what to remove except hover maybe and I always seem to forget to use rune of protection. I like all the the powers except maybe those two. The damage is good, threat of death is small and it's hard to want to stop killing with it. It's like a combo of a blaster and a brute all in one for me, which were/are my main characters since Live. I have tried so many masterminds over many years but this specific combination has the right vibe, it's just a lot of fun and makes most things trivial. Thanks @DocMidknight for sharing it.
