Welp, thanks a bunch folks but I guess that ends that idea. I am not sure we could feasibly pull off what we want with 18 storage containers, minus the ones we are currently using for insp. I appreciate he help here, much better than attempting this and finding the limit ourselves.

I don't think I changed the colors either, although I am using the Soul Noir or Dark Noir effects, whichever that is. I think other than that I kept the coloration as is, but I'm not 100% positive it wasn't already set to the coloration I used for plant. I can check, as well as settings, when I get off later tonight.

I have never seen that. I've ran an Elec/Dark for about a month and a half now. I made a Plant/Dark Saturday and have been running it. I have never seen it other than the kind of translucent almost-stealth look. Please do take a screencap, in case I'm just crazy.
-
I was completely unaware of that. I'm going not only for look, but full functionality too. We were looking at 50 of a particular salvage item at once, with 108 types of salvage (not including special ones) would put us at 5400 potentially. So I don't think it's still very doable, but I'll have to check on the limit of containers if there is one. Thanks for pointing this out!

I am glad you described it, I am used to the translucent bodies and assumed it was the norm. I actually dislike it, because it also causes a blinking state which I find visually unappealing and distracting. I think I'd prefer the shadows version you are describing.

Made one Saturday morning, she's at 35 right now. I love it, but I knew I would since I've played Plant really heavily over the years, and recently had a couple /Dark controllers. I don't have too many suggestions to make, most Plant or /Dark guides will cover most of the bases. But I will say it's the first character I'm thinking of taking Spirit Tree on, where usually I skip it. With Soul Absorption's already ridiculous +regen for self and team, it may be worth it.

I have an EL/Dark that I played a lot, at 50 now with T3 incarnates. I like the character a lot, but my issue with it is that it's not the best soloing build due to lack of damage. That may not be what you want it for so it may fit, so /Dark may be right up your alley with it's debuffs/buffs/heal/pet. I ended up just a few days ago rolling a Plant/Dark that I will replace my Elec/ with.

I like the idea of recipe catalogs, unfortunately they just aren't something people dump often since converters can make them into money. And the commons can be bought at crafting stations. We are admittedly going a bit over the top here. But I like the idea of having enough stacks for storage, and creating it to look and function as a library would. After we finish shelving and classifying them, we're probably going to be putting in seating and tables, rows of crafting stations (reference computers), and lighting to get the look just right. I think we are using salvage as an easy excuse to make a library, but long term I'll have to see if we can add more "collections", maybe insp.
-
Just curious what the most elaborate salvage storage you've seen in a SG base is. One of my fellow SG members and I academic cataloging librarians, and we've come up with the idea for a salvage storage that works much like library shelving. We are thinking about 45-50 racks, separated by rarity and in separate rooms like library holdings. I think the only issue is having signage to indicate collections, but I'm hoping we can come up with something if there isn't signage. Has anyone done something like this before? We will be working on it this weekend, and I'll be happy to post pictures of it when we're done.

Please make enhancement converters work on HOs/SHOs

Hadn't thought of that honestly. I think I'm going to have to agree with you on this. -
Farming Incarnate Salvage - 1 salvage roll every 15 minutes!
subbacultchas replied to Oklahoman's topic in Guides
Nah, you're good Razia. Everybody missed something obvious every now and again, and there are rarely any truly dumb questions. However, those rare ones stand out. Once had a lady ask if her being pregnant was going to set off our security alarms. -
Razer Naga Hex v2 I like it compared to normal Naga's, because of the small 7 button radial dial, rather than Naga's grid of 12 or 16.

I played the game for years, more alts than I could count. I've run through most of that content a bunch of times, and it's nice to re-run it once or twice to get familiar with it. When I played, there wasn't much of anything in the way of post-50 content. Incarnates were added before I split, but I didn't get time to mess with them. So for me, it's not recapturing what I had when the game ended. It's doing content that I didn't get to do when the game ended; doing something new and outside the boundaries of my experience. Plus you hit a point where helping people level their alts just is not that rewarding.

Once you finish her arc, to do it again you'll have to do it in Oro. -
Which powers are skippable in the Elec control set? I've got three I'm iffy on, and will probably drop one of them. Conductive Aura is good, but kind of overshadowed by /Dark's Soul Absorption. Static Field and Synaptic Overload are both great control powers. However I find I don't use Synaptic very often, and I'm not sure how useful Static will be endgame. Which, if any, would you consider skipping?

Man, I could not disagree more on Steam Spray. I've got Steam Spray with Positron's Blast (it has Range as part of its set), which makes the Cone reach MASSIVE, blanketing entire spawns. It's very satisfying to use and between it and a pumped up Water Burst it can destroy a spawn. The damage per activation on it is really great, and honestly I don't think you can have enough AOEs available to you considering modern gameplay of moving group to group and just wiping things out with little single target work. I'm actually fine with Steam Spray too, although I did take the advice of skipping Dehydrate and I couldn't be happier. Steam Spray damage is good, recharge is nice, and it's fairly easy to make it act more like traditional AOE than a cone by jumping. Maybe not every map since some have tighter ceilings, but if you target a middle mob and jump the cone tends to face downward which makes it more like a traditional circular AOE. It would not be among the powers I drop now.
-
This just now sunk in. Is there some criteria as self-heal that Transfusion doesn't cover, besides being close to melee range? IIRC it's better than Dehydrate in a lot of ways, and I'm not sure I'd ever replace it with Dehydrate. If it's just flavor that's fine too, not trying to nit-pick your build.

It wasn't me, but that's where I currently have it slotted. It procs about 2/3 of the time too, it feels like.
-
I've been torn on the Fire Blast vs Fireball. Fireball would obviously be amazing for some extra damage (And is fun with a knockdown proc), but Fire Blast fully slotted would make AVs and big mobs a lot faster. For Soul Absorption, did you mean they have it right or wrong? Do you think without End mods and going only Healing it can still keep you full up on End easily enough? Definitely right, I slot it for both facets (3 heal set, 2 end set) . What I usually notice when people slot Soul Absorption is that it's one or the other. Usually it's all end mod, occasionally it's all heal, but you rarely see both. You can frankenslot it well enough with 5-6 slots to have both facets and well. So CSR's build above has both Performance Shifter and Numinans in it, which is roughly the same as what I do.
-
I second this entirely. /Dark is one of those sets that can softcap defenses without the need for patron shield. Fire however, fills a much needed hole in terms of fire/cold resistance, and can cap smash/lethal too. It's really good. Fire blast I actually slotted fully, including the %buildup and &hold chance, since single targets I can spam hold/fire blast. Just my preference. Whoever posted the build above with Soul Absorption slotted for health and end has it right. It's too good at both things to only slot it for one of them. And while fighting AVs and GMs, a single target hit is often enough to keep your end high the whole battle. It's really one of the MVPs in this set.

Take some inf for a darned good post and breakdown.

This is my current build, minus the slotting in Fire Blast which I'm working on. The only thing I'm unsure on is the slotting in Chain Fences, but since I use that a lot I decided to add some procs to it. Still softcaps positional defenses, 75 s/l res, and 35-55 in most other resistances. Currently running Agility Alpha, Ion Judgment, Reactive Interface, Robot Drones Lore, Clarion Destiny, and Assault Hybrid (working for doublehit) all in T2-T3. Suggestions or criticism more than welcome. I remember times when I didn't PL and was mostly unaware of it. Then the first time a Fire Tank took me box hunting in Boomtown, I was suddenly aware that there were ways to level I hadn't. I can't say we did that overly much or that I PL'd heavily, beyond having a fire tank that would pull lowbie friends through mission. Several issues later we did a fair bit more of it, parties sitting at the door while the main tank dragged and killed the map. Much much later on was AE farming, but that was near the end of it. Mostly, if I'm honest, we didn't farm much on early levels because there were always hazard zones that we could street sweep in and have a blast, since the whole team could participate rather than door sit. It was mostly the last 4-5 levels that we'd find a PL team in PI. Of course, sometime in the midst of this the aggro cap was put in place, and a lot of patch type AOES were given a fear component. I suppose that ended the popular way, but it sure didn't end farming for folks. Now that I've typed this, I'm not sure what the hell I'm adding to the conversation. I will agree that farming has always been a big portion of the game, and like my previous self, you kind of had to run those circles to see it. It doesn't matter much nowdays, as the admins that were so anti-farming have moved on to other games and left this to the wild. I hope as long as people can still get regular teams, and I have no issue with that, we can all get along regardless.

Is there a Point to SuperGroups now?
subbacultchas replied to cramit845's topic in General Discussion
Teleporters and storage, that's my two takeaways. Although doing raids and TFs in SG colors is always fun.
