Yep. I do this for Katie Hannon's tf unlock, instead of having to stay in Buck Salinger's level range.

This is true like 95% of the time. But there are exceptions, I have found. The big one is in Heather Townsend's arc in DA, where it never seems to autocomplete the last one. That one is beneficial too, as you get get a lot of incarnate rewards that way. Also I have seen this happen when doing villain patron arcs too on the last mission, sometimes it seems to just not accept that a couple people finished it.

But I am troubled by your petless MM, aint gonna lie. I had a friend who almost made a petless controller and it made me cry. -
Got complaints about being a mastermind in a group

Everyone gets a little annoyed with pets in general from time to time, be it MMs, Controllers, Spiders or whatever. I get annoyed by my own pets on my controllers, so it's pretty normal. It's how you deal with it that's telling; and I think complaining excessively about it other than a simple "lol get outta my doorway beelzebozo" is too much. Like autoheals can be annoying right, especially in big raids. You can try to ignore it, lower particle effects, turn sound off, but it's still kind of there. Being annoyed is fine and dandy, however telling everyone that showed up for the raid that you can and will report them to get them banned for autoheals is not the way to go. Especially if you're the person still looking for a Hami team at the time, as occurred a few nights back. -
Carrion can do some respectable damage even minus the procs, but really shines with them. I usually do 3-4 frankenslots for dmg/recharge and a little acc, and reserve the last 2-3 for procs. It's definitely not one of the skippable powers in any plant build I'm making, and is one of the set-defining powers for me.
-
Yeah, I saw that. If you decide to do this again, let me know. I'd still love to tag along for it.

Haha, scrapped this whole post because AkuTenshiiZero responded as I was typing it.

Too late, I already respeced it out for space concerns. But my 50 build is not exactly final, so it may find itself right back in the mix. I dropped it, and sadly Time Stop, because even procced out I always seem to have better things to do than use either of those,. One question though: isn't slowed response a target aoe, and not a patch? It shouldn't need anything kept in it, since it fires off as a target based aoe, should it? I only picked it up at 45 or so, thus I haven't used it but a handful of times.

I'm finishing up my current attempt at a proc monster, with a Beam/Time corrupter. I've only got it at 45 and I'm still working out which ST attacks will benefit best from which procs. I am using a 3-4 slotted distortion field with only procs, and the one decent size cone we get now is set with 4 procs out of it's 6 slots. I'll try to get it to 50 this weekend and put my build up, after I test out several more things and make a firm decision on keeping distortion field or not.

I've used it on most of my elecs too. And I have a friend who mains an elec/dark blaster and it's one of his more used attacks, usually preceded by soul drain.

Which Control Hybrid Power do you choose and why?
subbacultchas replied to Tamorand's topic in Controller
So would anyone actually suggest this over Assault? I've got a plant/dark that's currently running with Assault, but I'm open to changing that. -
For sure. I think that after reading the threads on PPM, I'm looking now of putting in procs on some of the Beam Rifle attacks. The consistent complaint I've seen with them thus far is that they are just too slow, which *should* make them excellent candidates for procs if not slotted heavily for recharge. I guess it remains to be seen which ones have multiple things that can be slotted for.

/Dark on controller is an absolutely beastly secondary. My vote is there.

Well this is absolutely awesome. Thanks for this, will be adding it tonight.

Which Control Hybrid Power do you choose and why?
subbacultchas replied to Tamorand's topic in Controller
Sad to say, I have never taken this hybrid on any of my controllers or dominators. Usually by 50 I've got my single target holds slotted with extra hold procs, so the 1% is not so necessary. In the case of mass confuses, Coercive handles that really well too. So I really struggle to find a need for it late-game, where control seems to be pretty low on demand compared to damage/buffs/debuffs. -
I made one of these and got it to mid 40s. Any tips that anyone has here? It's a very viable character, and excels when taking on anything bigger than bosses.
-
I now have a Beam Rifle/Time Corruptor in the low 40s, and I'm loving it. It's pretty sparse on the AOEs, but the single target and buffs/debuffs are top notch. When running SBB or anything with AV's, I can really tell I'm making a difference with this build. I took your advice and slotted distortion with only 2 procs so far, which is underwhelming but I can see the promise of 4-5 slots. I haven't got Slowed Response just yet, had to grab the Dark Armor and Power Boost at 35 and 41 respectively, but I'll be adding it at 44 definitely. While you sometimes skip the single target hold, I've kept it for my regular AV rotation to couple with the other -regens Beam and Time offer. Thanks for the guide, I've been on the fence about making a mostly single target ranged character with a lot of -regen and debuffs, and I wouldn't have tried this one without your guide.

Seconded. This happened to a friend on Excelsior last night in a MSR raid, and wasn't noticed until around 5 minutes left. I've seen it several time in Hamidon raids, but as you say, it's not so big a deal as it is in MSR. Hopefully a fix for this can be found.

Damn it man. I'm almost finished levelling the blaster I made, and now I have to make something with Time too? You're killing me here.
-
I appreciate it Justice. This is the part of post-40 that I like the least.
-
Youre not alone in this. I currently have a dom, 2 controllers, 1 corruptor, and 1 blaster all of which can farm at minimum on +2 or 3/x8. I didn't intend most of them to be able to, but sometimes the way I build sets them up for it. It is, as you said, a skill as much as a build that you learn through a lot of trial and error.

Part of it's you, part of it's me. I'm struggling dealing with a family member that passed over the weekend. I should not have responded and I know this. So apologies for my part in it.

Another PROC Question: Energy Manipulator Chance to Stun
subbacultchas replied to JusticeBowler's topic in General Discussion
Case number two can really help some ATs I should add. Granite form Stone Armors can get enough +movement to make it usable, and I'm sure there are other instances I'm not aware of. -
Another PROC Question: Energy Manipulator Chance to Stun
subbacultchas replied to JusticeBowler's topic in General Discussion
Not far off base there Justice. It is a weird implementations. I think people use set IOs for three different things mostly. 1. More diverse slottings. Instead of say 1acc, 3 dam, 1 recharge, 1 end you can slot with a set that gives better bonuses overall. 2. Specific sets geared toward global bonuses, heavy +recharge, defense-capping, removing resistance holes (like psi). 3. Making subpar powers into proc machines. I think in your case, the first one may provide a benefit to you in some powers. But it's not always the case that you'll get the ratios you want.
